Can I use this Blackmagic eGPU Pro with my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)

I would like to know if I can use this device with my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) if I use Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2019 and/or Davinci Resolve 15 and if I can, which will it work best with?

    No, the 2015 MBP features Thunderbolt 2 ports which aren't compatible in driving the eGPU. Thunderbolt 3 is required.

  • It will work best if you connect your mcp to eGPU PRO, then eGPU Pro to a monitor. Close your mbp lid and only use the monitor.
    Because if you are not using an external monitor, then whatever data/command your CPU send to GPU, the GPU will have to return graphic output back. Through the same cable! TB3 cable! It will congest the TB3 40Gbps transfer rate. Where as if you you only send command/data from CPU to GPU throught TB3 cable, and GPU send rendering via another TB3/DP/HDMI cable to a external monitor. The TB3 cable connecting your MBP and eGPU will have much less load which means better preformance.
