    Provided that you have an Apple Watch and have synced music to it, you can pair these headphones with the Apple Watch and listen to music without your phone present.

  • The AirPods will be able to pair the old fashioned way via Bluetooth pairing to any Bluetooth 4.0 device, so as long as you have a device that's compatible with Bluetooth 4.0 stereo headphones, the AirPods will be able to work with it.

    In other words, you cannot use the AirPods alone. They have to be connected to a device.

  • They have to stream from a device but that can be any device, like for instance, the Apple Watch. So no, you don't have to carry your phone with you on your run.

  • No, it has to be paired with a nearby device, but that's certainly a concept that needs to be explored. How cool would it be if the AirPods had a little built-in memory into which you could load some music?

  • You need another device to transmit the music. You can use only de Apple Watch, first or second generation.
