    Inconsistent across devices

Worked great with Apple TV games, however, since March 2018, all the games I used to play now crash on Apple TV so the game controller is collecting dust.

Unlike the world of MAC's and PC's, the game controller is not a generic input device on an iPad like a keyboard. It only works through it's own app which means it can't be used for most games.

So the Steel Series worked great, but the IOS on iPad doesn't provide a generic game controller interface. The whole reason an operating system (OS) exists is to provide interfaces to input and output devices.

The bugs in Apple TV and compatibility between existing Apps and the ever changing IOS make inconsistent. This year the NFL app crashes constantly on Apple TV. Last year it worked perfectly.

OK controller - marred by lack of support outside US

I bought this controller in Australia & found out I could not update the firmware becasue I was not on the US iTunes store. Steelseries do not support this device outside the US as the app is down on iTunes stores outside the US. There seems to be no will to rectify this. You're on your own.

    The controller is adequate.

    Poor quality control

I'm returning this piece of junk. Battery indicators don't work properly, and thing won't even turn on unless its connected to a power source even though it's been charging for hours. Very disappointed with the quality of this product. Played zero hours.

    Great when it worked!

It was great when it worked for two months...now it sits on a shelf collecting dust. The left joystick sticks and makes game play useless.

    Joystick breaks easily

I bought one of these controllers to play games on my Apple TV. It’s easy to setup and the connectivity is good. However, the left joystick keeps breaking. The first time it happened I went to the Apple store to get a replacement. Then, unbelievably, the replacement unit broke as well. They clearly have a fault. I’ve had PlayStation controls for years and nothing like this has ever happened. The product has a problem that needs to be addressed.

    An excellent controller

I have been using this for over a month now , and it has little to no issues on my iPhone & iPod 6. It has few games suported on Mac , but this is to be expected. But it does feel a lot better than the Logitech Powershell I use. I have played GTA Chinatown, GTA San Andreas, Dead Trigger 2 ,Impossible Road & a few Sega games on this.Plus lightning charging makes it quite easy to charge too.

    Not fully compatible

I tried in the Apple store in Kingston UK and controller worked to a point with my game War Robots. Some functions didn’t work so didn’t buy. Apple staff completely useless and I was left to try controller on my own.

    Works well for some games

I play Marvel Contest of Champions and this controller is listed as compatible. The problem is there is some lag, and the biggest problem is that you can't press the heavy attack button and hold it down to power up the attack, it just fires immediately. If you are a decent player, it makes the controller useless. Hopefully they will fix this soon.

    Save your cash

    Pros: Nice build quality.
    Cons:
    - No Charge Cable
    - Not configurable
    - Buttons don't work

Purchased for war robots but just not useable.

    Bottom line: Look elsewhere.

Don’t listen to bad reviews. Amazing controller!

First let’s put out all the “issues” everyone has with this controller. It does not come with a charging cable. Which should be fine because it uses a lightning cable the same cable you use to charge your iPhone or iPad. Also, it charges very fast when plugged into a wall charger. Also with a 40 hour battery life you will not be charging that often. Next, there is lag when using it through your Apple TV. This should be obvious since it’s connecting to your Apple device and then over WiFi to your Apple TV and there is delay due to the WiFi transmission. Some games it makes them unplayable, others do a better job of handling the lag. Shantae was unplayable, but GTA was fine. So even though it says it will do this, I would not suggest it. And lastly, the manual that comes with it is super lame. Download the app and that will help you far more. Not only do I suggest the app, I suggest checking it out before you even decide to buy this controller because it has a list of all compatible games, and some are strangely absent. All the GTA games are there, but Bully isn’t. No idea why.

There is a lot of quality built into this controller, it feels very solid. Some could complain that the D-pad and front buttons feel a little cheap, but all react perfectly and spring right back. The analog sticks and L and R buttons are perfect! They feel exactly as you would expect a high quality controller to feel. It also has a comfortable form fit to your hands for long gameplay sessions. Also the matte finish is nice providing great grip.

Probably the only thing I really wish it came with is some sort of carry case. It’s not a deal breaker, but the is the first thing I’m going to look for. Over all I highly recommend purchasing one if you have compatible games. I personally hate touch screen controls, even good ones take me out of the action by placing my hands and fingers in the way.

Great controller with limits. Fix latency and you have a winner.

I purchased this controller for my Apple TV to play games without the original ATV4 remote which proved to be difficult. The controller is great and feels very comfortable in my hands. The button layout is great also. The only issue I have is with latency. You press a button and get a reaction that is delayed, not much but noticeable. It’s enough to shave a few ms off a lap time which keeps me out of leaderboards for the most part. Also the buttons are loud.

    NOT MAC COMPATIBLE

I bought this thinking it would work with my Mac Pro (or iMac) as well as Apple TV. Unfortunately not. Its very misleading, even though it had the iOS devices listed on the side of the box it also says it various places that it works with Mac OS including on their site.

    Great when it works

Here is a known issue with the game controllers and the ATV4. You cannot choose what player the remote should be. For most games you’ll notice it says P1, but when you open the game it defaults to P2. This makes the game controller useless in games since it won’t work. It will only allow the Apple TV remote to play. EXTREMELY dissapointed that his basic feature was overlooked. Apple please work on this !!!

Manuals very bad for new users company so cheap no lightening cable include

You buy the item, open the nylon bag to find very little instructions on how to use the Nimbus .
This company is the cheapest (Denmark) company I ever seen they charge so much for the product and do not include a 3’ lightening cable that might cost them in China maybe a couple of pennies . That’s why I love Apple they include what you need to start your product with . If I did not had one at home I would have send it back and bought a deferent item .But so far I am unhappy still charging it for 3 hours where I do not understand my head to my toes as I said I am a new user . But bought the New Apple TV 64GB and saw this so I bought it hope I will learn other wise it goes back .

Super excellent controller for new Apple TV 4K

Simple to set-up and pair with Apple TV and iPhone. Uses lightening cable - a huge plus in my household. Sturdy feel in hand and it is very responsive. Just as good or better than any Microsoft or Android controller. Only negative, works only with MiFi enabled apps and it would have been nice if they included a lightening cable for charging (although we have plenty at home. Great value for the money. It really works great and makes Apple TV even more fun. Definitely highly recommend! :)

    Just perfect!

I like it so much! It feels comfortable, and such sensitive D-Pad and more new features... Better than the xbox(I think).
