    Excellent idea, TERRIBLE design execution

    • Written by John P M from Oceanside

This case sounds great on paper but in reality it's very poorly designed. It's made out of a hard plastic material that feels absolutely cheap considering how much you pay for the case. Perhaps worst of all though, the case sticks out a couple inches from the top of the iPad, it fits horribly! Plus, the keyboard has this weird black protrusion it the top of it, not sure if it's a battery or what. Weighs way too much and adds way too much bulk, the kickstand feels like it may break any second. I hope they make an effort to re-engineer it but until then, I won't be keeping it. Don't buy this case!

    Massive disappointment

    • Written by James B from Hermosa Beach

I was really looking forward to the Logitech Slim Combo for my brand new 10.5" iPad Pro for several reasons. A little background to start...I'm coming from an iPad Air 2 where I used a Belkin Qode Ultimate Pro keyboard case that I absolutely loved. It added protection as well as a great keyboard with little bulk. Plus the iPad itself was fully detachable in a very slim case. I thought I'd get the same from Logitech but calling this case "slip" is a cruel joke. For some reason it's designed to have about 3mm of open space between the keyboard and iPad when closed--it's thicker than my macbook pro. Add to that the keyboard and case itself are very bulky and cheap feeling and this thing is really unacceptable. When detached the separate case on the iPad itself has a huge lip around all sides which makes it very uncomfortable to use and the kickstand feels like it will break. I wish there was a better option like my old Belkin that offered a lighted keyboard with function keys and little bulk. The apple keyboard cover is too flimsy for my use (and there's no pencil holder or back cover!) but it may be my temporary solution until something better comes along.

    Slim? I don't think so

    • Written by VIVEK G from CANOGA PARK

There is nothing 'slim' about this keyboard - the design is awful and feels cheap. The kickstand is flimsy and feels like its about to break every time you open/close it. While not heavy, this case adds considerable bulk to the iPad and typing while on the lap feel awkward.

For now keeping the ASK while return this and waiting for a better option - it feels like Logitech rushed this.

    Not quite right

    • Written by Amanda F from Brighton

As has already been said, this is a great idea that doesn't really work. You have a 6mm thin iPad Pro which is amplified by factor of 3 or 4 - it ends up fatter than my Dell XPS13 laptop! And it's a 'not quite' clamshell finish which is ugly and detracts from the pure simplicity of the iPad. Why it's like this I don't know, I have a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard/case on my old iPad and it works fine and looks great - but this one doesn't.

And the way the keyboard 'isn't quite connected' is a good idea in principle, but in practise it's a wobbly experience which is quite horrible. Using it on a desk is ok but on your lap it all just moves around!

The single plus side is the backlight.

Unfortunately, it's not for me, I'll be returning it tomorrow and swapping it for a pencil and a case - I'll do without a keyboard for now.

Probably the worst design for a keyboard case ever

    • Written by James C from O'Fallon

I had high hopes for this case and I bought it the day this and the 10.5 iPad Pro were available to order. The name of this case is VERY misleading and the product photos do not show the true form of it. There is nothing slim about this case. The edges of the case stick up well beyond the edge of the iPad. It's bulky and not comfortable to hold for more than five minutes without having to rest your arm on something whilst holding the iPad. The connector to the keyboard is only a flimsy cloth-like piece that snaps onto the Smart Connector and it is not very comfortable to type while using it except for maybe at a desk. The Apple Pencil holder was also another great aspect I was looking forward to, but quickly wished the placement was elsewhere on the case. It made holding the iPad in portrait mode with the pencil in it very uncomfortable. The only thing good I can say about this case was the keys felt nice to type on...a little. I promptly returned this case as soon as I could.

Logitech Dropped the ball on this one...

    • Written by Derrick T from BROOKLYN

The keyboard is really great, but apparently, Logitech was in a rush to get this out and didn't seem to do any quality control. The keyboard is attached only by the smart connector on the iPad, which is great for typing but not for holding a case together. There is no attached hinge. The keyboard comes in two separate parts. The iPad is covered edge to edge, which is good, but it's not a very secure fit. I dropped it on my carpeted bedroom floor and the iPad popped out of the case. Had that been concrete, there would have been zero protection for my new iPad.

Two weeks ago, I got the Logitech Create for my 9.7" iPad Pro and the iPad fits so snugly into the case that I worried about the day I'd have to take it out. This Slim Combo is a nice idea gone bad. I wish Logitech would've taken their time and put more thought into this. Needless to say, I'm returning it and waiting for a better solution.

P.S. The 10.5" iPad makes for a perfectly sized keyboard and I'm sure that whatever keyboard case I do find for this iPad will feel great. Kudos to Apple for this 10.5" sweet spot. I'm 6'4" with huge hands and typing on this keyboard is an experience that is very similar to typing on my MacBook Pro. Very comfortable.

The iPad Pro deserves better - and Logitech should know better...

    • Written by Mark C from Jacksonville

The good: The stand works well. The keys themselves are well designed in travel and shape.

    The rest:
    • It appears the two parts were designed by different teams. The keyboard team thought they were designing something that would fit/snap into the case part when it closed, but failed miserably. There is absolutely no alignment feature at all, so the two parts just slide around when it's closed. This is so bad that I think the initial runs must just be defective. I hope they're recalled. It's that bad.
    • The keyboard backlight is useless. It stays on so short a time that it's only useful for hunt-and-peckers - it times out in 5 seconds and can't be adjusted. There's no sensor, either, like on the K811... Worthless...
    • Thickness - It's at least twice as thick as it needs to be, with no value to it that I can see.
    • No Esc key. I have a number of apps that need an Escape key to function well.

Bottom line: Until something better comes out, and most anything else would be, just get a case and a separate Bluetooth keyboard. Logitech has been at this game for a long time and has designed some good stuff, so they should know better. If I had paid $20 for it, I'd have gotten my money's worth, but at $130, this one belongs in their Hall of Shame.

    Huge Disappointment, Do not buy

    • Written by Jim B from Chapel Hill

Went in with an open mind. Way to bulky and clunky. Logitech needs to pull off the market and redesign it. Adds tons of weight and bulk, putting "slim" in the title is a joke, misleading and an insult to consumers. Look elsewhere.

    Very disappointing

    • Written by Fabio M from Point Cook

What a step back for Logitech. The crate was a great case/keyboard for the ipad air 2. This one is however bulky, made of cheap plastics, the stand won't work on a lap, the keyboard connection is flimsy and the case won't stay closed.
Returned within 10 min of using. Simply disappointing.

    Epic Fail

    • Written by Rick R from Charlotte

The logitech team epically failed with this design. As others have pointed out in previous reviews, there is nothing slim about this keyboard. The stand and keyboard require much more flat surface space than previous models, in fact the two piece design make it unstable on anything other than a flat ridid surface. If you travel frequently and like the mobility of the Slim Folio (the previous and far superior model) you will be extremely disappointed. The larger and unstable footprint do not make it conducive for airplane travel, vehicle use (ubers, taxis, trains, etc), use on your lap while lounging, or any other surface that is not solid and flat. It requires more time to set up from the closed position and forget about using it with the pencil.

I would give negative stars if I could and will definitely return the product to the store.

    Nothing slim about the case

    • Written by Arslan B from St. Peter

This case is thicker than my MacBook Pro 2010. Besides that, it makes it impossible to use the iPad as a tablet as the keyboard keeps falling off from the magnetic hinge when you pop it open and whilst it is not on a flat surface. I am returning to today.

    Very disappointed

    • Written by REID M from Blacksburg

I bought the keyboard as it was available early and from Apple. I had also used a logitech keyboard case for my Air 2 and it was great. The positives were a useful and sturdy kickstand as it will stand up almost anywhere. The keyboard is great to type on when on an appropriately hard and sturdy surface. Having a pencil sleeve was nice.

Sadly, I could not use it on my lap and the keyboard worked best on things like a table or desk. It was flimsy and flexed around when trying to use on my lap, in bed etc. I was surprised at the clunky feel of this thing and the two pieces together made my new iPad pro seem bulkier than my laptop. The kickstand/plastic shell combo did not have clean lines and it looks a little frankensteinish.

For me, this case was bulky, plasticky and awkward to use. I really tried to like it for a few days but ended up returning and now waiting for something better to come along. Perhaps Logitech will revisit the Create for the 10.5 or maybe something else will step in and fill the market.

Thin to thick. Beware, nowhere near slim.

    • Written by Nain D from Purley

I like the idea that the keyboard and back casing can be separated. Very handy and can be rotated several ways. I also like the backlit keyboard, ideal in low light situation. However, all these good things about the casing, could not justify the bulkiness of the slim combo. I don't know why they've got the word "slim" on it? It's simply misleading. Might be ok for some, but definitely not for me.

    Nice concept, failed execution

    • Written by Thomas F from Camanche

First off, I'm a huge fan of Logitech's create keyboard case. I loved it on my ipad pro 9.7". The slim combo for the ipad pro 10.5" was a terrible case. I like what Logitech was going for, but they didn't quiet get there. First off the thing is huge! it's not slim in any way. it easily quadrupled the thickness of the ipad, making it bigger than a mac book. it's very well protected, but looks terrible and is heavy. they put a rounded back on the piece that the ipad sits in. WHY? When using the ipad by itself and you go to set it down, it sits there and rocks. Granted you can set it face down...It has a huge lip that protects the screen, but if you're trying to write with apple pencil, forget it. the keyboard was good, but detached very easily. Overall, i was shocked that Logitech put that case out.

    Terrible keyboard, Worst customer service

    • Written by Will W from South San Francisco

The design of the keyboard is so-so, but acceptable. it served me well for about a month; before the keyboard just decided to stop working. No form of resets, or updates to the iPad could get it to work. I tried to get it replaced by Logitech, and 2 weeks into it, I'm still going round and round through their generic email responses. Worst Logitech product I have ever owned, wish I had waited for something better to come along.

    A Most Unhappy Surprise

    • Written by Richard S from Grand Rapids

Normally I like Logitech's accessories very much. This floppy mess however is--bar none--the worst accessory of any brand I have EVER purchased. To begin with, it looks, feels, and acts like a cheap piece of hastily designed cheap plastic. There's not much problem with it while sitting at a table while using it. Not sure how many users do that often, since most of us use a laptop for that experience, and using it on your lap is just awful. I really can't get over what a terrible product this is, especially considering it's been paired with the "world beater" that is the iPad Pro 10.5. Brilliant tablet! Awful, awful keyboard case. Absolutely ruins the whole experience...and just to be clear, I blame Apple just as much as Logitech for this mess. THEY made the decision to carry this junk product.

This case is absolutely awful. Great Idea, terrible execution. The Ipad wont stay connected while it is set in place and only connects when I hold the Ipad up to the keyboard. Save yourself some money and go with any other case available. Very disappointed.

    Disappointing

    • Written by John D from EAST MOLESEY

I’m a big fan of Logitech normally. But the ‘Slim Combo’ wasn’t right for me. The Keyboard is great, up to Logitech’s normal standards. But the whole ‘combo’ as a case to carry the iPad around in is poor. It is heavier than expected and feels cumbersome. When you want to open it and lift up the keyboard to use it, it’s not intuitively obvious which way round everything is. Worst of all, although the keyboard is hinged to the smart connector, it does not clip onto the base. Instead, it slides around, and comes off completely and all too easily, usually when you don’t want it too. It’s a shame, but this one needs more thought. I took it back within 24 hours for a refund.
