Did not protect my iPad Pro

I knew this case wasn't going to be super protective for my iPad since the main purpose of it was to provide a keyboard and a place to store my Apple Pencil. I was holding the case in my hand and went to turn off a light when my iPad fell out of the case. I am very disappointed that I had to go out and purchase a brand new iPad because the case FAILED to hold the iPad. I will never purchase a case from this company again.

So hopeful but disappointed in the end

I am so upset about my Logitech slim case. I went to the apple store and bought the latest iPad, not realizing that it was 10.5 and not 9.7. I was desperate to get the Create. It is sturdy, and protects the pen inside the case. It was such a disappointment to get the slim. I have already lost my pen cap because anything that knocks the case can cause the unprotected pen to come loose. THe loose connection between the iPad and the keyboard is so frustrating also because it makes it hard to work with the iPad on your lap, it simply isn’t sturdy. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE THE CREATE FOR THE 10.5! At the moment I am considering downgrading my iPad so I can get a decent case.

    Very disappointed

First off, it’s pretty bulky. But I wanted a keyboard that had a spot for my Apple Pencil. The two biggest drawbacks are 1) you can’t fold the keyboard back on itself, it just comes apart. That makes it pretty impractical; and 2) my iPad Pro regularly loses the connection to the keyboard and there doesn’t seem to be a consistent way to get the connection back. It happens so frequently that I hate using it now.

When it works, I’m basiclally happy with it, but I now wish I’d just bought the Apple Keyboard and a strap for the Pencil. I do not recommend this product.

I Really Wanted To Love This Keyboard Case

I have had logitech keyboard cases for every iPad I’ve owned. The best case was the case I’ve ever had was for the iPad Air series. This case is heavy and frustrating and requires far too much room. Also, the keyboard detaches just when I don’t want it to. I have no idea why they changed the style of their case and I hope they return to the style of previous cases but they haven’t done so yet. I gave the case two stars because it does have a wonderful responsive keyboard. I finally bought a keyboard case of the older style from another company. It isn’t as good to type on but it is light, holds the iPad at whatever angle I want, and doesn't take up a lot of space. PLEASE APPLE && LOGITECH MAKE A KEYBOARD CASE FOR THE IPAD PRO 10.5 THAT IS LIKE THE IPAD AIR CASE.

Will not charge when plugged in

Oh sure, the keyboard itself is nice and backlit, but if you want to cover your iPad with this while it’s charging, tough luck — my iPad stops charging when this is plugged in, and I’m far from the only one. I have come to expect better from Logitech as I’ve never had an issue with their products before, but this is just ridiculous.

Stops your IPad from charging when attaching the keyboard

This is a common problem with theses cases, Apple and Logitech are doing nothing about the problem to solve why the keyboard makes the iPad stop charging.
If you search the on Logitech forum you will find that this problem has been ongoing since Ocotober 2017.

Apart from this fault it is a good case and looks professional but until this problem is sorted I would stay away from it.

Design flaws; recommend buying Apple Care if using this product.

The Slim Combo case is two separate pieces, keyboard half and iPad half, magnetically, (weakly) attached to each other. When carrying, the case halves can separate, leaving you holding the keypad case and the iPad case falling, bouncing off the floor. Then the iPad ejected from the protective case. Another issue is the outer case of the iPad half does not have non-slip grip pads and is insanely slippery. If sitting on a smooth surface like a granite countertop, it can easily slide. Its friction defying properties would impress a Tribologist. The kickstand does not have secure stop points. On upper angles, it can collapse closed from the pressure of taping the screen, with the slippery iPad half of the case dropping to the counter top with forward momentum, sliding off the counter top and ejecting the iPad. My other iPad is 4 years old, no screen cracks, still works. The Logitech Slim Combo case design flaws contributed to a cracked screen in less than 4 weeks with the new iPad.

    Meh....

Works well, when it works, but the keyboard loses connectivity from time-to-time, and the case is not terribly secure - my iPad has fallen out of it twice so far!

Wish I had paid a little more for the “genuine Apple product.”

liked this case until it slid out of my car

I was in love with this case until i noticed that the 2 halves do not stay together all the time - when carrying it the 2 halves would come apart. Then I realized it is no protection at all when it slid off the seat of my car onto the ground. The 2 halves came apart and the case that housed the iPad was of no use at all - the glass shattered and I am thanking God that I have Apple Care!!!!
I realized the only thing I really liked about this case is the keyboard, which is really quite good - but I would not buy it again because it offers no protection for your screen.

    Horrible!

Logitech has made some great products. This is not one of them. My rating is based on the following problems:
    1. The keyboard connection is very buggy. The keyboard worked the first time I set it up on my iPad Pro 10.5 inch, but after that it wouldn’t type at all. I had to disconnect the keyboard from the case, turn the ipad off, restart it, re-attach the keyboard and then it started working.
    2. It is not lap-friendly. It can be used on the lap in a manner of speaking, but it is precarious at best
    3. The delete key and the lock-down key are way too close to each other. I’m typing away, have to delete something and off goes the ipad.

I like the feel of the keyboard, but the bugginess is going to have me looking elsewhere unless Logitech comes up with a better solution. Sorry, I cannot recommend this product.

    Don’t do it!

Definitely not worth the money and very disappointing. So disappointing that I feel the need to write my first review ever. There are way better options out there! The idea behind this is a great one, but the failure is in the execution. Like others have said, it’s not “slim” by any definition. That I can live with, and the keyboard itself really is great. The big issue is the connection between the two parts - it’s highly inadequate! The keyboard comes disconnected all the time, and I’ve lost track of how many times it has fallen off and clattered on the floor. I should know by now, but one forgets you can’t move the device from one place to another without closing it up or holding both parts. It also comes disconnected when just in your bag - which leaves the screen exposed to whatever can get at it. In short, the two parts NEED to much more strongly connected, and it needs to close better.

    Best of the Worst

Unfortunately there are only 2 keyboards being offered so far for the 10.5" Ipad Pro. In my opinion the Logitech Slim Combo is the better of the two but still not great. The pluses are it provides excellent protection for the Ipad including the corners, has a back lit keyboard and a storage sleeve for the Apple Pencil The minuses are the keyboard connection is quite floppy and I'm concerned it wont last long, plus you cannot use it on your lap. The keyboard slants one way and the Ipad another. It works on a solid surface only. It will suffice for now but hopefully a better design comes along soon.

Works but stops iPad from charging

Good sturdy/bulky case. Keyboard works well; only problem now is that with the latest updates the iPad stops charging when the keyboard is connected. Updates needed and Apple and/or Logitech needs to actually address this issue.

    REALLY, REALLY Disappointed

I bought this keyboard because of the backlight on the keys and the easy touch keypad and haven't been disappointed on that front. HOWEVER, I chose to go against all the reviews regarding the cheap plastic case and large size. I could overcome that for the backlighting except for the fact the my iPad has fallen off a TV tray and table 2 times because it takes up so much space and slides easily on hard services with the plastic. When it fell, the top easily detached from the keyboard and down it went. At $800 a crack, the last thing I want is to break the face of my new iPad. Also, there is literally no stability between the keyboard and the iPad. When on an uneven surface, you have to position it just right to work with it.

Returning it tomorrow for the Apple keyboard (without the backlight). Dang

    Worst case ever.

This is a great case if you don't care about the keyboard working all the time and want to carry an ipad in a case that makes it more thick than a Macbook Pro. This thing is the most awkward, least well designed case ever. I've had logitec keyboard cases before and they've been great. This one is a loser.

This should be withdrawn then made properly!

I’ve always been a fan of Logitech iPad cases/keyboards so I assumed for £109.95 this would be the usual high standard so did not bother looking at reviews, however, I wish I did. I feel like I have spent premium money on a cheap ebay £9 grade case/keyboard.

The case as reported by others is not slim, but i think this is in part to the keyboard section being thicker towards the rear to elevate the keyboard when typing, thickness isn’t a real issue for me, I want something that protects the iPad. The plastic on this case does not feel premium and the addition of some nice feel rubber in places would probably make it feel more nice to hold.

This case feels very much rushed from design to manufacture.

    Some issues I have:

    - The keyboard comes away from the case easily, too easily so it’s always coming apart with the least amount of movement.
    - It has intermittant connection issues, I have to keep detaching and re-attaching when I want to use it
    - The case cannot be folded back on itself as the smart connector isnt long enough and the magnet power isnt strong enough anyway, so you have to detach the keyboard if you want to use the ipad as a tablet, this means you have a loose keyboard hanging about which if your on a busy train or other public transport this isnt ideal.

I rated this 1 star mainly for the back lit keys.

The keys themselves are nice to type on but sadly, the overal design is very poor for a high priced suppose premium keyboard

    Terrible Case

The case (along with the iPad) was suppose to replace my laptop.... yes a laptop starts with the word lap - and this case does not allow me to use it on my lap. It only works on solid surfaces and that is incredibly inconvient. I would have given zero stars if I could have. I don't normally write reviews but this was probably the worst purchase I have ever made - and I am incredibly disappointed in apple because they normally support great products. And at this price point you should be supporting great products! Beyond dissatisfied!

    Good Try, but issues

    Pros:
    - Keyboard is convenient on flat, supported surfaces
    - Case protects the back of iPad Pro
    - Slot for Apple Pencil (material may perform differently as it expands/contracts slightly in various weather)

    Cons:
    - Caps lock key does not function properly. Instead, it cycles through my available keyboard settings (English/Mandarin/Emoji). There is already a button for that.
    - Lage gap between screen and keyboard when close... Why not make the keyboard sit flush in side the case rim or leave just a few millimeters?
    - Fabric on opposite side of the keyboard is far from ideal. A rubberized material would be better for grip and easier to clean.

I would not need this if Apple keyboard offered pencil holder and some combination of protection for the back of iPad.

Brilliant keyboard, bulky protection, yet still very portable

The combined weight of this keyboard with the case and the ipad is around 1.2kg. The average weight of common mid-range windows laptop on the market is around 2kg. And this is my all important prelude.

Characteristics of the case: It looks simple and professional, as well as practical. I believe bottom of the keyboard is waterproof to some extent. It definitely bulks up the bare ipad a lot.

Protection: A huge lip for the front of the screen around 1cm is the consummate faculty of this case imho (with the exception of the keyboard itself). So you can drop your ipad face down from the top of the Emley Moor Mast onto a concrete floor with no besmirch to the screen, I am confident to say.

Keyboard: Plastic, tactile, individual keys and brilliant features (function keys and backlight) make it better than most ordinary windows-laptop keybaords on the market right now. I have above average sized hands and stumpy finger tips yet the keys are large enough for precise typing.

Any gripes? Yes - my case came a little marked on the outside (underneath the keyboard). I think it is a manufacture or factory error, as it was brand new anyway. But I cant be bothered to return it so ill just use it regardless. Also the kick-stand is quite wobbly and has some extra headroom, which I think is deliberate but still piques my unreasonable self. Also, unless you are Shaquille O'neal, you'll find it hard to fit the entirety of the edifice on your lap to type with what with the kickstand out and all.

Happy with the function so far

I've seen mixed reviews and was not sure what to think. I do like the keyboard and find the smart connection to work great. The magnet could be stronger but in practice it doesn't seem to be an issue. I really bought this keyboard to get more "laptop" type use out of my iPad investment. I also really like the full protection it offers the iPad compared to the apple option-which is also nice. The increased size is not an issue for me because I drop things and they break! My phone has been in a case for years and it has save me many times over. I just did not want to take a risk with a new iPad Pro and the $$ invested.

I like that I can leave the keyboard at home if I want and just have the basic iPad protection as well. No -I can use it on my lap-but that is not a need for me. I'm almost always at a table for typing work and if I'm just reading I detach the keyboard. It appears top be durable. I hope to get two plus years out of the case and keyboard-anything beyond that and I'll be very happy.

I don't use a pencil so I can't say how the holder works. I use it as a tab to open the case.

Surprised by how much I like the IPad Pro and this keyboard/case make it more useful for me and so I'd recommend people give it a try. You can always return in in two weeks if not satisfied.
