    Apple Pencil Holder Broke

    • Written by Courtney H from Sunnyvale

Great/functional case until the plastic holding the elastic pencil-holder breaks. I purchased this case because it included an area to store the pencil. It is basically useless to me at this point. I have had it for a little over 1 year.

Good at first but decays quickly

    • Written by Christian W from Sydney

This case was great for a month or two Then it started turning yellow. The plastic they are using clearly isn't durable. I've never had a case decay so fast. After about 9 months of use, the silicone edges have detached; the plastic is completely yellow and awful to look at (people are surprised when I say it used to be a clear case).
    Cannot recommend this product.

    Not up to Otterbox standards

    • Written by Anna B from Orlando

I have purchased many Otterbox cases for my iPhones and was so happy to find this protection for my iPad Pro. I loved that it was clear and you could see the back of the iPad. It also works well with the smart keyboard. Now for the cons: The back of the case is completely scratched and I rarely even take it out of my house. The place where the pencil goes (I don't have a pencil) completely broke off and has sharp edges. I should have returned it, but it was a little over a year old. This case is very pricey for the short time that it lasts.

The pen holder breaks off and can cut you!

    • Written by Patricia A from New Market

I love Otterbox products and have been using them for years on my iPhones. At first I loved this product because it worked so well with my Apple Smart Keyboard and it had an apple pen holder. However, the Apple pen holder is a loop of elastic which can pull off breaking the thin plastic connection on the side of the case. This is the second time this has happened. I discovered it when my hand started bleeding! The first time they replaced it, however, now it’s time to try a new case.

    Good quality case, but....

    • Written by Paul F from GREENHITHE

This is a very solid, sturdy case, with hard rubberised edges and solid feel, however, the case does make the volume and lock buttons very hard to push

Not perfect but plusses outweigh minusses

    • Written by Kim S from Cupertino

    * Fits very well (I don't have any of the problems other reviewers had getting it on).
    * Works well with the Apple Smart Cover (The one without the keyboard).
    * The silicone edges feel nicer than hard edges would.
    * Surprisingly the elastic pencil holder works well.
    * When the apple cover is open it sits flat on the back and the magnets hold, though barely.

    * A bit on the heavy side. (Apple says its 16 Oz, but I bet its lighter, like 8-9)
    * VERY hard to push the volume and on/off buttons
    * A little difficult to plug a charger or Apple Pencil in, because the case is so thick.
    * Carrying it, the hard smooth plastic is unpleasant against my skin. The Apple leather smart cover is much nicer, but is only on one side.
    * Opening the Apple cover is a little awkward because the case is a rim that surrounds the edge of the cover.

    Good looking but just Okay...

    • Written by Andrew C from Newmarket

Smart Keyboard cover fits really well with i and looks great.

I found this case very hard to put on as it has a thin, flexible, gasket-like edge that seals tight around the iPad screen. I guess it’s to keep dust out, but on the last corner - it had me using way more force than I would want to apply to the iPad and the screen to make the gasket sit properly on the glass.

There is a ‘bumper’ all the way around the edge that makes the buttons hard to press.

Back is hard clear plastic and protects the iPad well.

    Not Worth the Price

    • Written by Kari L from KINGSTON

I completely regret spending so much money on this terrible case.

I've had it for about two months now and it's already very yellow and gross looking. I took the edge piece off so I could add the leather apple cover (also regret buying) so there's a huge gap in the case where dust, dirt, crumbs and all sorts of stuff can get into. I could take the cover off and put the edge piece back on but then my screen doesn't have as much protection as I want.

The strap that holds the pen is a total joke. The pen gets caught on things in my bag constantly and it almost sliding off completely.

I wish I'd bought my case and cover on Amazon for a fraction of the price. If this case was 30 bucks, these flaws would be reasonable.

I can't complain about the protection. It's kept my ipad safe despite some scratches on the case after falling off my bed - hence the two stars.

    Poor Fit

    • Written by Paul L from PARIS

Purchased for an iPad Pro 10.5. Not a good fit as very rigid. As a result the griping of the edges are not consistent. While it provides the protection it is not encouraging relative to fit and ongoing attachment to the iPad. Purchased a Silcone case for another iPad Pro 9.7 and perfect match. Do your home work on this one.

    Is This A Joke???

    • Written by Sam L from phoenix

The iPad case was promised to come within 2 days, immediately after my purchase it stated 3 days. The iPad case is almost complete garbage. The corners of the case are suppose to go around my iPad but instead there compressed tightly between the case and IPad itself. 3/4 of all the borders do not go over my iPad, as a result my case can pop off immidiately after a fall. I wish I could post a picture, I scraped my iPad twice with a paper clip trying to get the corners to pop out! I even contacted otterbox and they stated symmetry series should snap on, they also didn't want to help me and stated Apple gave me a defective product. It is not defective the really tight fit eats the corners not providing the correct screen protection. I even ripped alittle of the rubber with my fingernail trying to pull the rubber flap out. Sitting here thinking what's next...

    Very Happy with Symmetry Case

    • Written by Jason D from Sherwood

I picked up one of these for my new IPad Pro 10.5. There's not a lot of selection right now for the 10.5, I used a Lifeproof NUUD on my IPad Air 2 for the last 2 years and love that case, I like that the screen is open (don't like the built in screen protectors like the Otterbox Defender) and that its pretty thin and doesn't add a lot of bulk. That's what I love about the Symmetry Case, it's thin but thick enough to offer good protection for accidental drops. I haven't had any problems with compatibility for either the smart cover or smart keyboard. The only slight issue is that the Apple Pencil hits the case when plugged in and doesn't go all the way in the lightning port, but it does plug in enough to sync and charge. Overall I'm very happy with this case.

It's really hard to get the iPad in and out of the case. It protects the back of the iPad pretty well but it doesn't give the apple pen any protection. The apple pen holder can get twisted and if you put your iPad in your bag it can get caught on stuff because of the apple pen.

    Good protection but...

    • Written by Norbert S from Carolina

This case provides excellent protection to muy iPad Pro. But it's not good protecting the back of the iPad from dust, in my case, cat hairs, which I have a few. I removed the side of the cover to allow permanent access to the IPad port for the smart keyboard, and noticed a gap between the cover and the back of the iPad. Not good! I want a clean and spotless backside on my iPad.

    Worth it

    • Written by Meow Cheng N from Singapore

The clear case makes my iPad Pro very beautiful, esp when I also engrave words on the iPad Pro. This case works perfectly with the Apple smart cover and together, the feel is great. It does not feel cheap or fake. One touch and you can tell. It’s quite difficult to slot the iPad Pro into the case at first. You must really “push it” in as the clear case fits exactly n tightly on the iPad Pro. It does not slip and very easy to hold. The Pencil fits nicely too. Overall, the price is high but worth it.

A bit tight but works well with Smart Cover / Smart keyboard

    • Written by David C from Auburn Township

Unlike most clear back covers this one has silicone bumpers around the edges to give your iPad Pro 10.5 more protection. The bumpers and the Apple Pencil holder add a little more bulk to the cover but it's not clunky. I found the case is a bit stiff which makes it a little harder to get on and get off your iPad Pro 10.5. Just take your time and follow the included diagram and you'll be set. I alternately use this back cover with a Smart Keyboard and a Smart Cover and it works great with both of these Apple accessories. The covers stay on and the magnetic flaps work perfectly and hold tight in open and close positions. All ports and buttons work as expected but as with any protective case that covers the buttons it does require a bit more force to actuate the buttons with the case in place. It's one of the tradeoffs you make for protecting your iPad Pro 10.5 investment with a back case.

Good protection but does not fit the Smart Cover.

    • Written by Eric G from West Sacramento

Bought this because it had a place for the Apple Pencil. When combined with the leather Smart Cover, it does not lay even on the surface to type. Hard to access on and off button. Taking it back - too bulky!
