I would rate this 0 star if possible.

I bought two of these for external charging of my late 2018 Mac Book pro. Unfortunately they provide 1 hour of charge only when this machine is running on full specs.

So for the price i'd look at other options as it doesn't not come close to running 15 inch Mac Book Pros for 14 hours. Its also very slow to charge. Which is another issue.

    CAREFUL! — Apple’s 30W power adapter incompatible!

Bought this, as recommended by Apple, for travel, to use with my 12” iPadPro, along with Apple’s 30W brick and different adapters. Sadly, learned from mophie, just today, that they found, early this month, that Apple’s adapter is not compatilble! Left it hooked up overnight and much of the next day, and nothing happened. No new lights. The brick was cold. Spent an hour on the phone with Mophie, and a couple more on the phone with Apple, all to learn Apple’s 30W brick will not work...

Mophie has a 15W that will work, but perhaps will be a couple hours slower? Anker’s could be okay, but Mophie says they haven’t tested those, yet, as they have Apple’s.

Strangely, Apple’s brick will work with other non-universal power stations, though, says Mophie? It’s all beyond me.

Beware, as you’re shopping for a 30W brick to go with this great powerstation USB-C PD XXL...

PS. A quick tip: Put the standard USB to USB-C cable that comes with it on your cell phone adapter — wall or car (so long as the car is moving) — and, amazingly, it’ll give you juice in a pinch, while you’re finding the right thing to use. Just keep an eye on it for heat, and don’t leave it plugged in overnight... Mine, slowly, has brought my two lights up to four for tomororw’s trip. A lifesaver! Hooray!!!

Great product. Ignore the negative reviews!

I’ve had one of these for around a year since they first came out and it has worked without problem, able to provide more than one full charge of a MacBook with some over to spare for phone and watch or a further partial MacBook charge. It’s also robust and charges quickly itself. The LEDs will go off after a few seconds when it is charging, but pressing the on/off button once quickly will cause them to light up once again showing you the charge status. As for how to connect it up, the manuals are pretty clear that you just charge it using the USB-C cable. Things really couldn’t be simpler.

Ignore the negative reviews. This is a great solution for people on the go and I have also used it very successfully when camping, recharging it from solar panel battery systems.

    Substantial back-up supply, connectivity issues

Aesthetically pleasing. Undoubtedly provides a substantial back-up, but hit and miss connectivity. Cannot charge it with the standard Macbook charger, only works with an Apple iPhone usb charger. Also very picky about cables whether charging or supplying power to devices.

Good to Start With. Now Not Good.

I purchased this to complement a new MacBookPro.

This is an expensive battery and you would think it would work longer than a month. For the first month it worked fine, but recently it has decided never to charge beyond half full. This is not ideal, and I'll be taking it back.

The manual is shocking, and is different to the one you can download online.

Additionally, when charging (either itself when plugged into the wall or another device) the LEDs on the side of the battery don't stay on--so you can't tell if it is charging or not.

    All in all, very disappointed.

    Your mileage may vary

I like mophie products and have purchased them for years. My mophie powerstation has not worked well with my 15-inch MacBook Pro. The powerstation keeps shutting off. Seems to drain without charging my mac though. The powerstation does charge my iPhone and IPad successfully. Given the other positive reviews, perhaps my powerstation is corrupted.

    Disappointing for the extortionate cost!!

Bought this battery pack to compliment my brand new MacBook Pro. My advice is don't waste £120 of your hard earned cash. It absolutely will not give you anything like 14 hours mac battery life. Fully charged it just about charges the MacBook from in the red to around 95%, again nothing like the promises made. All in all very disappointed other than the fact that the fabric makes the item look nice. Don't bother, totally not worth the money

    Great powerbank

I got this powerbank a few weeks ago and I’m quite impressed with this as I can charge 2 devices at the same time at full speed (no compromises in this area unlike most power banks I’ve used),I can also fast charge my iPhone 8 meaning when I’m on the go,I can top up to over 50% in half an hour from this powerbank (the first one I’ve used that delivers what it promises in this area) and even run my 15in MacBook Pro for 2 hours when editing video in Final Cut Pro X.

This is also very well built with a lovely fabric finish, charged from 0% to 100% in around 3 hours using apples 29W USB-C charger (although other 30W chargers can work as well). This is the size and weight of a small paperback book roughly from my experience when holding it or carrying it in my bag which tips the scales at less than half a kilo (roughly the weight of a 10.5in iPad Pro).

I don’t think I can ask for anymore than this from a powerbank. Simply brilliant. 5/5

Useful for partial charging. Bad manual & essential to read the online one

    I bought my MOPHIE Powerstation USB-C XXL-ZML from Apple 20 March 2018

I used it today, and obviously it's useful to partially charge your laptop when you have no mains power or not got a mains charger. BUT.... The paper manual and the online manual are different - the online manual has warnings missing from the paper manual.

Unfortunately, you can't tell when it is charging as the leds stop blinking after about 30 seconds. There are warnings about improper connection and that (in certain configurations) it won't charge unless the button is pressed - which is an unusual feature that isn't at all obvious when you use it (which is why I searched out the online manual, as the paper manual is very obscure).

You have to unplug it for the leds to work so you can find out whether it's charged. I'd prefer a battery that is easier to use and has fewer problems (and need for warnings) about 'misuse' it can't cope with.

When fully charged, it charges my MacBook to 70% charge which won't give it anywhere near the 14 hours sort-of promised. All in all, it looks like it (and its documentation) could do with more than "up to 14 hours" in the Mophie QA department.

I want to love it, but I am stuck

Case and point: I'm stuck in my hotel room in Las Vegas right now. My pack is dead, no lights. I tried charging it using every chord I have, including the USB-C charging chord I use for this MacBook pro. No matter what, I can't charge it.

    Pretty much the ideal charger!

This is such a great charger - fast power delivery, compact size with a nice look. Everybody who's knocking it for not providing 14 extra hours for a 15" MBP, what the heck were you expecting?!? It's quite clear that it provides a 30W charge, and the 15" uses an 87W charger - that alone should tell you it's not fully meant for the big one.

That said, I use it on my 15" in addition to iPhone X and iPP 12.9 and it's awesome! Fast charges the smaller devices and provides a good bump for my laptop... I'm a big fan and this is the kind of future I've been dreaming of - powering my laptop with just a brick!

    Awesome Power Station

This Power Station is a beast. Holds an amazing amount of power and I got another 8 hours out my MacBook Pro 13" with Touch Bar today. I have also charged my iPad Pro 10.5" today and it charged very quickly. So easy to use and it charges really quickly either through your MacBook and plugged in to a standard iPad Pro charge. Make sure you charge it overnight as soon as you get it before using. This device rocks. It has a permanent place in my work device and inCase backpack with my MacBook Pro. Awesome! I highly recommend this product. 5 stars.

    Disappointing.

This kept my Macbook Pro 15" 2017 charged for an extra 1 hour and a half.

I will be returning this at my earliest convenience.

Great Product but a bit small for Macbook Pros

Lets start by saying this product is not cheap at all, but the level of craftsmanship and compact design will go perfectly with your Apple devices and lets face it, if you pay premium to het the best lights laptop on the world you won't mind paying the extra $50 this Mophie worth vs other brick just to get the same compact lightweight style.

In terms of functionality is awesome, fast to charge, multiple outlets to charge Mac and iPhone at once.

The only reason I'm holding off from a 5 star review is that it just provides 3 extra hours on a MacBook Pro 15 inch, maybe with regular 12 inch MacBooks it can hold the 14 hours claimed but sadly when it comes to Pro it fells a bit on the short side.
