    This mug is GREAT!

    • Written by Tom T from Newbury park

It may sound like something small, but when your coffee is the perfect temperature every single time, it makes a big difference! I use this thing every morning, and a few times of the day after that. If you work at a desk or at home, if you have the coaster nearby, it will keep it going all day long if you need.

Great mug, terrible standby drain on coaster and bad service

    • Written by Nigel J from Heumen

The mug is fine: great design and feel and works well. But: I measured the standby current of the coaster, and it was 100 times that of my iPhone! I have spent months communicating with customer service, and wonder seriously whether they are using bots instead of people. I got some really strange replies, tons of promises, but no actual service. In this time when we are so aware of energy spillage, this is not a good look. They promised that I would get a replacement unit, but I think that they were just stringing me along. I reported the problem in March, and there is no sign of a replacement.

    Great concept, poor execution.

    • Written by Jen G from Peabody

I’ve had my ember mug for about 7 mos. at the 6 Mh tn mark, one of the coaster pins loosened, causing my mug to not charge. I reached out to ember with a picture of the depressed pins and got a response within a few days. They said they would be mailing me a new coaster but that they were back ordered. Over 1 month later I received my new coaster. Now I find myself constantly making sure the new coaster isn’t broken too. The battery life is t the best but the mug does the job....most of the time.

Without battery life it's just a cup!

    • Written by Det K from MILTON

Nice idea... nice shape and feel. But no battery life worth the idea. You may get two hours of temperature at 120, if you're lucky.

Obviously, this is not enough. I sit at the desk for much longer than that on my days off. Without better battery technology it's a waste of money. You get one heating out of it and then the battery needs recharging.

    Great Idea, somewhat poorly executed

    • Written by Nicholas L from Portland

I really liked the idea of this. I have always put water in my coffee mug and heated it in the microwave prior to adding my coffee in order to keep the coffee warmer longer. This sort of solves that, however it almost needs a stir bar or warming in the sides of the cup. Because the liquid close to the bottom stays up to temperature but the longer it sits there gets to be a gradient of temperatures throughout the mug. Bottom hot, top cool. middle staying slightly warmer.

    Never Worked!

    • Written by Paul A from Flat Rock

Received this mug as a Xmas gift and after setting up and charging for 24 hours, nothing! The light was glowing on off while charging but would not respond when setting up with app. Tried disconnecting, doing a factory reset, and reconnecting and plugging into a differenet outlet, but no go! So, I contacted Ember support, they first asked me to make sure the plugs were free of debris! Next day, asked me to take a photo of the pins, sent them one of the saucer at an angle to reflect the pins were popping out above the plat in order to make contact with the bottom of the mug and sent another photo of the end of the cord to show no debris, and the saucers female connection to show nothing was blocking, which if the light was powering on and blinking should tell you it was connected. The weekend came, didn't hear, then on Monday I received an email, the third, requesting I send the mug to them to check it! Really!! It is a new mug, how about shipping me out a new one, I would have gladly given my CC to hold until broken mug was returned!!!
Sorry folks, Ember is not how good customer service is supposed to work!!! Mug was returned, and no I would not recommend any product from this company!

    Perfect for what I needed

    • Written by Simon T from Canton

Its really nice to have hot fresh coffee from the first to the last taste. It does that perfectly for me. I would recommend.

Be aware of the detail though, it does only heat to 145F, for me that is fine I set it at 140F for a great cup which is hot from start to finish. When wondering around with my cup of coffee be aware that the battery life (used when not on coaster) has limitations at 140F, not sure how long but check the details (maybe up to an hour, guessing here), for me though it is long enough.

If you want longer time on battery go for the travel mug option also sold here. 4 stars because of battery life limit.

This mug looks nice, sits on my desk and does what I need it to do.

Works very well keeping at the temperature at setpoint for the time stated. The App is simple, easy to use and functional. Easy to clean and not to heavy in the hand. A great product!

    Good Concept but...

    • Written by Joseph O from Philadelphia

If you like your coffee hot with steam coming off, this is not the mug for you. The maximum temperature the mug provides is 145 degrees. It will register the temperature of the coffee when you first pour it in and my Cuisinart coffeemaker brews to 165 degrees according to the Ember app. But its downhill from there. The temperature drops and 145 becomes the max. Plus that temperature only seems to be at the bottom of the mug. The top cools down. It is also a small mug. If you like a large cup, look elsewhere.

    Forgotten coffee still hot

    • Written by clive M from london

I often make a hot drink and forget to drink it, this definitely helps with that.
A thermal travel mug would I think do just as good a job,but this mug is a lot nicer to drink from.
I found it good to make tea in as it keeps hot wile brewing.
I use it from the recharge saucer and had expected my drinks to be hot consistently this isn’t the case it seams to depend on how full the mug is .
I’ve given it 3 stars mostly because of the software, the mug does what I bought it for.
For me the software is aimed at the American market ( some coffee shops not in the UK) and people traveling with the cup not people making drinks at home

    My DREAM Coffee Mug!

    • Written by Kathryn E from Grass Valley

This mug is fabulous for me! Not everyone will enjoy its features and there are quite a few great written reviews and videos you can search online to give you the complete skinny on it. But, I wanted to weigh in here on why it is a a PERFECT fit for me. I can only drink a couple of cups of coffee a day, and it is my favorite way to relax in the morning, and again in the early afternoon. But, Life happens and before Ember came into my life I was constantly reheating the coffee to make it hot. Believe me this was a pain, because often I got distracted and left it there all day... never getting my full cup. Not anymore! Keeps my coffee where I set it at 143 degrees for an hour if I want. The cup size is fine for my smaller hand, but a bigger person/hand might find it a less comfortable mug to hold. What a great way to spend my morning! "Good to the Last Drop"
