Apple fan not a fan of air pods, rogue left air pod, dwindling batteries

I love Apple. Have stock (thank you very much), which is a reason why I go out of my way to buy their products. I am a CEO of a corporation and favored the Airpods as my headset. Great idea too -- switch ears as one needs charging, etc.

The first thing is -- these do not come with an extended AppleCare option. The first product in years to not have this, I believe Apple saw themselves drowning in Airpods from customers with this issue and that. Better to just sell them replacements after a year.

As the old saying goes: full me once (buy the air pods), shame on me. Fool me twice (deny replacement after one year warranty), shame on me. But no, I won't be shamed, I will not buy a product that in my experience simply does not last past a year and functions well.

    PROBLEMS:

    1) Left Airpod plays, but only when the right one is in. (So a headset solution it now is not)

    2) Left Airpod not responsive to touch, tap, anything.

    3) These things after a year chime low battery after about an hour of talk time. ONE HOUR.

Here's the kicker: I had BOTH easily replaced once during warranty. But with what I'm not sure, likely not new, as the left Airpod went rogue as described above about three months after replacement which was of course outside the warranty at this point.

So - for $159, I will but far cheaper wireless headsets and headphones and still have money left. Think I'll buy any Beats products after this experience? Think again.

    Great product but easily lost

I loved my AirPods so much. Great product and everything works. I had absolutely no problems. I had mine for about 6 months. I lost mine 2 months ago and can’t find them. They really need to do something to find them easily. One of my favorite apple products just gone.

    These are cool

These are amazing. They hold a charge, even after almost a year. They are light weight. They look good. They connect easily.

I wish they had a bit more noise reduction but I'm really happy overall.

Connecting them is super easy, even easier than I expected

Now I get why Apple removed the headphone jack -- after using AirPods I'm never going back to wired headphones.

Connecting AirPods wirelessly is effortless, even easier than plugging a cable in. They easily switch between iPhone, Mac, and with a push of a button, even other people's iPhones.

I didn't have to worry about battery life. The charging case keeps enough juice and they charge quickly. Storing them in the little case is so much neater than having a tangled bundle of wires.

They stay in the ear very well. It's definitely one of the best products Apple has produced recently.

    BEST EARBUDS MONEY CAN BUY!!!

Let me start out by saying, these earbuds are not for everyone. First of all I would Like to say the buds fit perfect in my ears. Connect was easy and very simple. The sound quality is A+ in my book. Believe me I am keeping score. This is my first pair of buds, and it was well worth every penny. I'm a techno gadget person. The buds are a bit small, but i like the rechargeable case, so cool! Buy these buds, you will love the sound and the convenience of going cordless, I like that. If I lose them I will buy another pair. Peace!

    Exceeded my expectations

I resisted buying these for quite some time. I enjoyed my BEATS so much I couldn’t have imagined getting another pair of wireless headphones. Ultimately my wife convinced me after a friend gave her rave reviews. Within ten minutes I can easily say these are the best quality heads jones I’ve ever had. The sound quality is superb and the ease of use is beyond simple. My previous wired Apple headphones were awesome and I enjoyed the clicking option to pause, forward, rewind, etc but the double tap feature to activate Siri and charging abilities make these headphones second to none.

Nice (lengthy and in depth review)

First of all, they are very sleek and look very nice. If you have an iPhone, it tells you the battery percentage on each earphone and the "earphone charging pack", which I think is a nice feature. I also like how they use the same charging cable as a regular iPhone, 5 and above I believe. They also have great sound quality and are really easy to pack and take along with you. I also like how you can access Sirir by tapping one of your headphones a couple of times. The only things I don't like are how easy they are to lose, which is probably more my fault than the product itself, you can only turn the volume up on your phone, not with just the headphones, and when you take one headphone out, whatever your listening to pauses, so you have to have both earphones in to listen to something on your phone.

    Amazing Product

I have many wireless earphones and these are the best by far. I've had AirPods for nearly a year now and I have had no problem with them. It is so easy to connect by just placing them in you ears. They have great sound, Bluetooth range, amazing battery life and the Double Tap feature is amazing. I use my AirPods everyday all the time and I wont have to Charge them for about a week.

    Best purchase of the year

Airpods are my favorite Apple product. I ordered them with an iPhone X and I use them constantly. For work, entertainment, and exercise. They always connect quickly, if not instantly. They switch smoothly between phone and MacBook. The battery life isn’t even a consideration. I just plug in the case every once in a while and I’ve never seen it below 20%. If you use one AirPod at a time you will never have to go without them. The other is waiting, fully charged for when you need it. Personally, the fit is perfect. I never have to worry that they’ll fall out, and they’re unnoticeable in my ear. A downside is that they could be easy to lose, but if you value you them as much as I do you’ll always know where they are. They’re certainly an upgrade to the wired earbuds. No snagging wires or having them pulled from your ears if you drop your phone. The range is unreal. I can leave my phone anywhere in my house and have no connection problems.

I would recommend these to anyone with a newer iPhone and the money to spare.

    Great sound, poor everything else!

When I first got these I was impressed with the design technology. Unfortunately there are design flaws as well! First thing I noticed was the fit. They don’t. I even lost my first set because of it. Upon purchase of my second set I found one pod didn’t charge. Cleaning out the pods charging slot helped. Next I find that they do have trouble connecting to my phone. All other Bluetooth headsets I have owned paired immediately upon power up. Air Pods take longer. If a call is answered and then a headphone put in ear, it takes a good while for it to pair. Pros: Great sound, good battery, great charging, convenient to a point. Cons: Fit to ear could use a looking at and connectivity. Also, white is a bad color. Shies all dirt!

too quiet to hear or distorted in one ear

Just visited Genius bar with phone issue, unresolved and asked for help with air pods that were playing soft. Tech said yes they are low volume, He used a brush for a few minutes to clean the speaker screen then asked me to try again, distortion in left ear and nothing from right. I bought them in March of 2017, so 38 days out of warranty. Offered to let me buy a new pair for only $139. I said no thanks, good money after bad right? Would have brought in sooner if had paid attention to warranty date. Big pain to get into store so I waited. Bad me.

    Great idea and work perfectly

Airpods are a great idea specially for people who don’t like wires or big headphones. They work perfectly and you don’t need to go to settings in order to connect them to the phone. They are so light you will even forget you are wearing them. While I was reading other reviews I saw people complaining about the fact that they fall of their ears and I am a person that usually suffers of that problem, but this earphones stay on my ears even when I run. The only problem is that the case attracts dust.

Very Low Reliability for Voice Calls (iPhone 7)

I bought these to primarily use for voice calls. They worked great until I updated my phone. I keep updating hoping the problem is resolved. Now, every other call I experience the same issues a few others noted where the call goes silent, my phone becomes unresponsive and then the call slowly comes back in a slow motion manner (muffled, catch-up noise). It's about 5 to 10 second delay. I've spent 4 hours doing a restore from a computer, received refurbished Airpods - the problem is worse than ever. I cannot use for business purposes. For music, they work well. This problem doesn't exist on Bose or Sony products when using for voice calls (all wireless and bluetooth). I'm highly dependent on this for voice calls and disappointed with Apple - especially since they took the headphone jack away. My battery dies quickly and routinely have to charge and talk at the same time. This stuff can't happen when they take alternatives away.

    Very nice

Just bought these today and so far they seem really good. Easy setup. Love the storage/charger box that uses the same cable as the phone. They still look a little goofy with the white sticks, but I'll give them 5 stars anyhow.

Why did I wait so long!

Held off because I thought they would shift and fall out when I run, run daily and have been using Bose headphones. However, I finally took the jump and cannot believe how well they sit in my ears. Didn't need to touch them once on my run, I sweat a fair bit so I was concerned but they didn't move. Seriously well worth the money. Love them!

    Indestructible Airpods!

Super impressed with my air pods. I have had mine for about a year and they’ve always worked great! Awesome for trail running, going to the gym and phone conversation! They went through a 50 min wash cycle along with the charging case... I instantly pulled them out when I realized and they were functioning 100% and continue to do so!

    Broke relatively fast

They are very nice and good sound. But I have had them for only six months and the right AirPod broke and there is no more sound coming from it.
