Fits the new iPad Pro 11” almost perfectly

    • Written by Robert M from Indianapolis

A simple design (just a sleeve), but given that Apple hasn’t yet come up with a leather case for the gorgeous new iPad Pro, this is a good second-best option. There is *plenty* of room to slip the iPad Pro 11” inside, despite it being slightly larger than the iPad Pro 10.5”. (The fit is actually *much looser* than the similar MacBook sleeve, which means that this thing must be *really* loose on the older 10.5” iPad Pro). My 2nd generation pencil is still on order, so I can’t comment on how it fits. But I’ve heard it works reasonably well (except that it’s shorter than the first generation pencil).

The leather is gorgeous, but only if you understand that this is meant to be a feel-good premium *natural* leather product (i.e. one that develops character with age and respectful handling - like a good pair of hand-sewn aniline leather dress shoes). If you’re the kind of person who is looking only for like-new appearance, maximum abrasion resistance, and safe-from-any-abuse protection, you will wonder why on earth you bought this thing. (You’ll be a lot happier buying something from Otterbox or whatever, so don’t ruin it for the rest of us by complaining that this product doesn’t do things it was never intended to do.)

Of course, it would be nice if Apple would come out with better options specifically designed for the new iPad Pros.

Hey Apple, if you’re listening, a sleeve designed with the opening *on the long side* would allow the new iPad Pro to sit inside comfortably - with room for the pencil to sit neatly along the top open edge! Or even better, bring back a full Smart Cover (including the back) in leather (like the ones that used to be available for the iPad Air 2). (We all love the gorgeous aluminum edges of the new iPad Pro, but in the real world they’re going to get banged up if they’re not protected. I still wince and curse under my breath every time I open my old iPad to see what happened to one of its corners back when I made the mistake of relying solely on a front-only Smart Cover.)

The new iPad Pro is obviously a premium product. This sleeve works, but please give us some better quality options to protect the new offerings!

    Love this sleeve

    • Written by Kim G from Henderson

I recently purchased this along with the Pencil and iPad Pro because 1) it holds the Pencil securely, and 2) it provides the entire iPad Pro with protection while not in use. I love the leather items Apple puts out so it was a no-brainer I would add this to my collection. Sadly, the only color options when I purchased this less than 2 weeks ago were saddle, navy, and black, with only saddle being available. Initially, the sleeve is stiff and fitted but in time will loosen as the leather becomes more pliable. The sleeve WILL fit an iPad Pro with any of the Apple covers, including the keyboard. The inside of the sleeve has a very nice fleece type material that doesn't scratch the contents of the sleeve, and the Pencil snaps into its slot and removes easily. I carry my iPad Pro in my handbags and totes thanks to this sleeve without worrying about damaging my iPad. Of course, it's not going to protect the contents if you routinely and consistently drop it; be realistic in your expectation. If you want to keep your iPad protected like Fort Knox, this is NOT the item for you.

    Yes, Leather

    • Written by Emily L from Maple Valley

I’ve had the Saddle Brown sleeve since just after the iPad Pro 10.5” model came out. I hesitated to order it due to the cost so I ended up waiting with back order.
I’m writing a review now because I saw a lot of people complaining that the leather isn’t real. My sleeve looks, feels, smells, and ages like leather. Whenever I pop open the sleeve to slide in my iPad, I get a whif of leather smell. I’m also really happy with how it’s worn. At first, I was worried to do anything to get it even a little dirt or dinged. Now, after a whole lot of travel and school, it’s no worse for wear but the leather is developing character, like a cool briefcase or Frye boots.
I love it more than I thought I would, and I anticipate it will outlive my iPad.

    Great sleeve

    • Written by Zach G from Rigby

This sleeve a great high quality product. Yes it is expensive, and in my opinion a little over priced even by apple standards but it is a high quality sleeve and more of a luxurious item more than anything. Sleeve fits the Smart Keyboard, although it is a little tight. Works best when paired with leather cover. Overall this is designed with a specific audience in mind. I, for example, don't use anything but the Smart Keyboard or Smart Cover and sometimes I use it naked. So for me it's a good item.
Will not fit many other cases,
5 stars because it is exactly as advertised in the descriptions

    Perfectly Apple

    • Written by Jeffrey B from TOWSON

This case epitomizes Apple in every way. Fit and Finish is second to none. The leather is so soft and supple and molds around the iPad beautifully. The pocket is deep so there is no chance the iPad will slip out and the pencil holder is designed in such a way that it too will not slip out no matter how worn in it gets. I went with the Saddle Brown as I think it wil age well, and I would think it was made by Hermès with the attention to detail in the stitching and just the feel of the leather. (Though Hermès would use white stitching) Definitely a premium product and that explains the price. My iPad Pro has become my primary computer and to be able to protect it and carry it around in such a slim case is the perfect accessory. I do have the Smart Keyborad attached and it also goes in and out with ease. As usual the care Apple puts into the design of this stuff never ceases to impress me.

    Minimal and perfect

    • Written by Kim C from Queens Village

The new 10.5" iPad Pro is my first iPad ever. Though lots of family members have iPads so I've experienced it in every way possible already. Never really liked traditional cases and keyboards on the iPad — I preferred to use it without any sort of protection. This sleeve (in saddle bronc) is perfect for me. It's minimal, offers the right protection (the entire iPad fits snug, but not tight, inside the sleeve), and has a space for the pencil as well. A bit expensive, but well worth the investment to protect a $750 device.

Sleeve is better than nothing, for now.

    • Written by SCOTT S from Lafayette

The sleeve is really nice and has a place for the pencil (which is awesome to have! I'm so tired of the pencil rolling all over the desk!). Someone else wrote that the stitching is stamped and not real. However, upon close inspection, it is actually stitched with real thread. I looked really close with reading glasses and I see the real thread, expertly stitched (perfect, just like all Apple products).

It holds my iPad with the smart cover on it, with plenty of room to spare. The iPad is easy to put in and take out. Yet, the iPad stays snug and secure when it's in the case.

The leather seems to be of very good quality and I have no complaints about the quality at all. My only complaint is that the price could be lower.

What I really want is the silicone cover for the back of my iPad to protect the bottom. That would make the whole package complete. I have no doubts that the silicone case and the smart cover would both fit in the pouch. My grade: B+

Fits iPad Pro 10.5 With Keyboard Perfectly

    • Written by Eric K from Charlotte

I wanted to write a review, b/c there seems to be some mixed information as to whether the sleeve can hold the iPad Pro 10.5 with it's keyboard attached. I have had no issues with this configuration and find that it does provide excellent protection for the device and pencil. I did take one star off for the reason others have mentioned which is that the leather claim does seem extremely suspicious. Despite the questions around the material that has been used the design and quality are on par with what I expect from Apple. For the price it would just be nice if "is it actually leather" wasn't a question.

    Very disappointed

    • Written by Allan R from Ormond Beach

I need a case which will protect the front and back of my unit. I am afraid to use my new pro with this sleeve plus the leather cover. I need protection while I am using the unit. This concept is ridiculous in my opinion. There needs to be a full case or at least a back cover. Maybe the theory is that the back needs to be open since the unit can get warm sometimes. Apple should explain why there is no back cover available. Also, this is not top grain leather. It feels and smells like vinyl. It must be some type of bonded product where they take little specks of leather and mix it with vinyl and can then call it leather. Overall, really disgusted and disappointed and will have to find a quality third party case

Nice sleeve - fits iPad pro 10.5 with smart keyboard

    • Written by Lars P from Rochester

The sleeve: Well constructed, the apple pencil sits nicely in it, great feel. Also, it fits the iPad pro 10.5 with the smart keyboard attached. I don't find it difficult to get it in or out of the sleeve.

Why the star off? One reason is the price - I think $99 would have been a better price point for what this does. Another reason for the deduction is for it needing to exist. It sounds like a lot of people would have just preferred to have a back cover available from apple like they had before. I know I would have. But if you're looking for a good sleeve that fits with the smart keyboard - this is a good place to start.

I find it hard to believe it has such a silicone feel to it. It could be bonded or recycled leather which is green I suppose. Real leather only has one face to it.The stitch line appears to be stamped in but I think is real.
However it serves it's purpose in a more secure way being a sleeve at least it does not drop off like the magnet screen protector.
I am giving it 4 stars simply because the term leather is misleading. If it is bonded leather- say so

    It does the job, BUT...

    • Written by Gregory H from Memphis

Leather!?! If you say so. Has a plastic/silicone feel to it. Does a great job of holding the iPad and Pencil, but I don't this "leather" will ever get a patina. Just so....Sterile.

Choose between the pencil or the keyboard

    • Written by Pia A from Euless

This sleeve won't fit with the keyboard attached. And the Keyboard smart cover has no place to keep the pencil. Come on, Apple! Get it together. The Surface has had a place for the stylus for years. ADD A PENCIL HOLDER TO THE SMART KEYBOARD COVER - PLEASE!

Im pretty dissapointed to be honest, when buying a product this expansive I was expecting the best. I was expecting it to be nice and snug inside to prevent my Ipad from falling out and having the really nice fabric inside, similar to the fabric inside of the silicon cases to protect the IPad itself from scratches. BUT to my surprise its only on one side and the sad part is is the one side doesn't even cover the entire IPad which really confuses me!

Leather Sleeve for 10.5" iPad Pro

    • Written by Rudy B from CANNINGTON

The only thing I like about this design is the built-in pencil case. In terms of protection, this is only good while the iPad is inside this sleeve or when you put the iPad in your bag. However, the moment you take out the iPad, there is no more protection. With this price tag, I don't find it practical and the design is rather very limiting. I think this could be more useful if the design is a flip up where you don't need to take out the iPad from its case when using it.
I don't like the smart cover either because it only provide protection to the front as if the back side is less important and it's okay to get scratches as long as the screen is protected.

This case is made with Apples vision

    • Written by cameron L from conley

This case is made for a specific reason. If you purchase it for utility reasons it is a waste. It is for sliding into a bag and keeping it from scratches. It is elegant and slim. The best feeling leather. Price tag is high. But so is every other accessory. If you like eyboard than stay away.
