    It does the job, BUT...

    • Written by Gregory H from Memphis

Leather!?! If you say so. Has a plastic/silicone feel to it. Does a great job of holding the iPad and Pencil, but I don't this "leather" will ever get a patina. Just so....Sterile.

I find it hard to believe it has such a silicone feel to it. It could be bonded or recycled leather which is green I suppose. Real leather only has one face to it.The stitch line appears to be stamped in but I think is real.
However it serves it's purpose in a more secure way being a sleeve at least it does not drop off like the magnet screen protector.
I am giving it 4 stars simply because the term leather is misleading. If it is bonded leather- say so

Nice sleeve - fits iPad pro 10.5 with smart keyboard

    • Written by Lars P from Rochester

The sleeve: Well constructed, the apple pencil sits nicely in it, great feel. Also, it fits the iPad pro 10.5 with the smart keyboard attached. I don't find it difficult to get it in or out of the sleeve.

Why the star off? One reason is the price - I think $99 would have been a better price point for what this does. Another reason for the deduction is for it needing to exist. It sounds like a lot of people would have just preferred to have a back cover available from apple like they had before. I know I would have. But if you're looking for a good sleeve that fits with the smart keyboard - this is a good place to start.

Fits iPad Pro 10.5 With Keyboard Perfectly

    • Written by Eric K from Charlotte

I wanted to write a review, b/c there seems to be some mixed information as to whether the sleeve can hold the iPad Pro 10.5 with it's keyboard attached. I have had no issues with this configuration and find that it does provide excellent protection for the device and pencil. I did take one star off for the reason others have mentioned which is that the leather claim does seem extremely suspicious. Despite the questions around the material that has been used the design and quality are on par with what I expect from Apple. For the price it would just be nice if "is it actually leather" wasn't a question.

Sleeve is better than nothing, for now.

    • Written by SCOTT S from Lafayette

The sleeve is really nice and has a place for the pencil (which is awesome to have! I'm so tired of the pencil rolling all over the desk!). Someone else wrote that the stitching is stamped and not real. However, upon close inspection, it is actually stitched with real thread. I looked really close with reading glasses and I see the real thread, expertly stitched (perfect, just like all Apple products).

It holds my iPad with the smart cover on it, with plenty of room to spare. The iPad is easy to put in and take out. Yet, the iPad stays snug and secure when it's in the case.

The leather seems to be of very good quality and I have no complaints about the quality at all. My only complaint is that the price could be lower.

What I really want is the silicone cover for the back of my iPad to protect the bottom. That would make the whole package complete. I have no doubts that the silicone case and the smart cover would both fit in the pouch. My grade: B+

Fits the new iPad Pro 11” almost perfectly

    • Written by Robert M from Indianapolis

A simple design (just a sleeve), but given that Apple hasn’t yet come up with a leather case for the gorgeous new iPad Pro, this is a good second-best option. There is *plenty* of room to slip the iPad Pro 11” inside, despite it being slightly larger than the iPad Pro 10.5”. (The fit is actually *much looser* than the similar MacBook sleeve, which means that this thing must be *really* loose on the older 10.5” iPad Pro). My 2nd generation pencil is still on order, so I can’t comment on how it fits. But I’ve heard it works reasonably well (except that it’s shorter than the first generation pencil).

The leather is gorgeous, but only if you understand that this is meant to be a feel-good premium *natural* leather product (i.e. one that develops character with age and respectful handling - like a good pair of hand-sewn aniline leather dress shoes). If you’re the kind of person who is looking only for like-new appearance, maximum abrasion resistance, and safe-from-any-abuse protection, you will wonder why on earth you bought this thing. (You’ll be a lot happier buying something from Otterbox or whatever, so don’t ruin it for the rest of us by complaining that this product doesn’t do things it was never intended to do.)

Of course, it would be nice if Apple would come out with better options specifically designed for the new iPad Pros.

Hey Apple, if you’re listening, a sleeve designed with the opening *on the long side* would allow the new iPad Pro to sit inside comfortably - with room for the pencil to sit neatly along the top open edge! Or even better, bring back a full Smart Cover (including the back) in leather (like the ones that used to be available for the iPad Air 2). (We all love the gorgeous aluminum edges of the new iPad Pro, but in the real world they’re going to get banged up if they’re not protected. I still wince and curse under my breath every time I open my old iPad to see what happened to one of its corners back when I made the mistake of relying solely on a front-only Smart Cover.)

The new iPad Pro is obviously a premium product. This sleeve works, but please give us some better quality options to protect the new offerings!
