    Buy another brand's cover

    • Written by Dan M from Lancaster

The cover has changed since I first bought my iPad Pro. This cover has an incredibly weak magnet and falls off quite easily. It also doesn't lay flat, even if you push it flat, the iPad does not turn off, very disappointed.

After having had two ipads with the older covers that were great, I was so disappointed with the new cover. It would not stay on my ipad and would completely fall off when opening. I returned it to the store for a refund. Not up to Apple’s usual standards. Please bring back the older version cover.

    Don't Buy This!

    • Written by Sharon I from Norristown

This cover is extremely flimsy, cheaply made and doesn't even lay flat on the ipad. I bourght it as a Christmas gift, the receiver didn't like it, and the 14 day return policy had expired before they even got the gift, so I'm now stuck with it. Save yourself some $$ and purchase a third party cover that actually works.

    Poor design

    • Written by Diane E from Philadelphia

I am unhappy with this product because the magnetic strip is not strong enough. My iPad constantly disconnects from the cover often falling on the floor... I would not recommend this to anyone.

Magnets are weak and iPad falls over if you are not extremely careful. Will be returning the product.

    Total Junk.

    • Written by Michael K from Louisville

Seriously mad at myself for not researching this but for $39 dollars this is a ripoff. It is a thin piece of cardboard that wouldn’t protect anything. Apple you should be ashamed. This probably cost your Chinese factory 8cents to manufacture.
Now I know I’ll have to be careful when purchasing from you. Apple is not to be trusted.

Falls off and doesn't support well while standing

    • Written by Julie D from Little Silver

Misleading purchase unless you read the fine print- the cover is magnetically attached to the bottom edge and is easily jostled off when using as a "stand". It does not enclose the IPad. Poor product design from the masters of design...

    Where is the back?

    • Written by Michele T from Seattle

I did not know that this was a one sided cover! For 39 dollars, I was not expecting something with no back. Very disappointed. It's better than nothing until I can get something that protects the entire iPad, and not just the front cover. I was just really shocked at this product-I could not tell from the picture it was not two sided.

    Flimsy and kept falling off

    • Written by Tina L from Garrettsville

I ended up sending this back. Not worth $40 for sure. Very flimsy and kept falling off and it only protects the front screen. Went back to my cover that I got on Groupon for $9,it protects the whole iPad.

This cover does not protect nor even remain attached to the iPad. It is completely useless. Don't waste your money, Apple, why would you sell this?

    Don't buy this case

    • Written by Jazzie C from Borehamwood

I think this could be the worse design for a case which is meant to protect your iPad. It does not protect the screen , the back of your iPad will get starches as this case does not protect the back of the iPad. I have had my pink sand iPad Smart Cover for just over 3 months and it has started to rip and come unglued. Overall it does not protect your iPad! Sadly I have been to the shop about this issue where I was told this case is not for protection and I will have to deal with it.

Bought this in January from for my 9.7 iPad Pro along with the separate $70 back in which I can't complain about other than a little on the heavy side...anyway. I repeat MY IPAD is the PRO 9.7 not the AIR or any of the other iPad model that this cover fits, models that have been on the market for years that unlike my PRO still have this and many other options for cases/accessories made by APPLE. Try and buy accessories specifically for the PRO 9.7 model and you are forced to shop Amazon, LITERALLY the untrained apple advisor I spoke to using the app for apple support, told me to shop amazon or maybe I could but a new model ... Apple just silently QUIT on the iPad PRO 9.7 accessories. The Smart Cover, to stay on subject, is a FAIL because of the POOR magnetic quality. I can not trust mine to be in either position and DEFINITELY NOT the low profile position for PENCIL use, the cover collapses EVERY time with or without touching the thing. It won't even stay folded completely back when I'm holding the ipad in any position. I usually just pull the dang thing off my iPad and toss it to the side until I'm ready to put the iPad up for the day to protect the screen. the only thing it does well is cover the screen and turn it off and on. my smart case for the 1st gen mini that had a latch when closed, held up for the three short years that the iPad mini was able to update IOS software. Both in MINT condition now obsolete ONLY because of a software upgrade that I felt was pretty important in the protection of my privacy and data... So... my Advice to Apple would be to stop with the rush to push out the next best thing...it may increase your bottom line every year, but it is starting to give us Apple activists a bad taste in our mouth...we are willing to flip the large bill for everything we need to protect our precious devices... but I personally feel screwed on the last three products I was originally so excited about (touch screen on my 6sl, the iPad disappearing act and even the 2015 model iMac has been shut down more than in use and in the shop once without an actual FIX...im exhausted and looking at another broken phone screen in which I have to decide what I'm going to do about because I just paid it off and its the second screen after the touch disease.

My IPAD still works great, but my smart cover came unglued on bottom side. Warranty is 1 year. Some may consider that a bargain. Since I took good care of it, I do not. I expected it to last a lifetime since it had no mechanical or electrical parts. I did like it when it worked.
