    De-laminates after 6 months

    • Written by David S from Vero Beach

Moderate use on 11” pro for 6 months shows wrinkles in contact areas of front and back of the installed cover. The front side shows these fabric wrinkles in areas that are typically used for carrying iPad. The major wrinkle (about 4 sq in) and del-lamination on back side, now an approximate 2” by 1” de-lamination bubble, will likely tear very soon. Only buy this product if you do not intend to use it.

    I love it

    • Written by Ray B from Cibolo

I'm not sure why this case gets negative review. If you are a carefree person who does not treat your devices with care then maybe this is not the case for you. On the other hand if you are very meticulous and for the most part your iPad goes in a bag or backpack you should be fine. I love the style and function. Almost perfect.

Very Questionable Decision for Apple to Release such a Product..

    • Written by Kyle M from Livermore

I recently purchased this in white from Best Buy, and plan on returning it. The case feels so flimsy and cheaply made, it is ridiculous. I don't know how Apple could intentionally release this product, and I find their decision to do so, and some of the reviews above, questionable.

This case, at best, would prevent scratches on the back while in use. At best it would prevent scratches on the front while not in use. if you were to drop your iPad or, perhaps worse, drop something on the iPad, I'd have no faith in this case preventing critical damage to the ipad. At best you would escape a drop / accident with a $500 bill to replace the screen. At best.

Stay away. I'll try the folio keyboard, because the 10.5 smart keyboard cover has endured so well since owning that device.

I purchased one of these 6 months ago with I got the iPad Pro 11.

Not only did I have to pay £85 for what is in essence a piece of covered cardboard with a couple of magnets, now 6 months later, the material covering the cardboard is wrinkling and comping apart.

This is a complete waste of money. Save some money and buy a case from Amazon - will be cheaper and will last longer and you will get better support if something goes wrong, all Apple want to do is talk on the phone about it.

Sharp edges makes it miserable to hold

    • Written by David H from Issaquah

I purchased this smart folio at an Apple Store. I had one for my previous iPad Mini and it worked and felt great. This one works Great but feels horrible. The material is much stiffer and the edges much sharper which makes the device uncomfortable to hold. I frequently find myself taking the iPad out of the case for reading since the device itself is so much more comfortable in my hands without the case. This is something I never experienced with my previous smart folio for my iPad Mini 4.

    Go with white

    • Written by Marissa M from Telford

I am not sure why the review stars vary by color and am very surprised that white was better than charcoal so I decided to go with white. I bought mine at Best Buy since the nearest apple store was far away at the time of my iPad purchase. I do love this case and love the fact that it is magnetic to the back of it so it is protected on both sides. I do agree with the case having rough edges that cut into you if you hold it a certain way but that isn’t a deal breaker for me, that just means it’s tougher to bend the case which protects the iPad and is the sole purpose of this. Love it and would buy it again, maybe pink but love both colors.

    Doesn’t protect from drops

    • Written by Wolfgang L from Montreal

    Dear apple,

Please provide a case that provides edge protection in the case of drops! People put cases on iPads
For this reason, not just to protect the surface the iPad is placed on, or the screen when the iPad is in storage. Some people are clumsy, and drop the iPad when they are being used, and don’t want a military or child proof case.

Best folio for iPad Pro out there.

    • Written by Francisco G from Coral Gables

While the iPad Pro folio seems overpriced at $79, I have to say it's the one that really executes best when snapping with the magnets. I bought some cheap folios on Amazon to save some money, but they just didn't feel the same, nor executed as well when snapping to the magnets. The iPad Pro folio would be a better buy at $59, but many cheap cases don't compare in quality. I'd say go for it if you can get it at a lower price somewhere else since its worth it.

    White stays white!

    • Written by Matthew K from Eugene

I wanted to take the time to write a review addressing something I was concerned about, but couldn’t find any feedback online—whether or not the white folio would stay white, and if it got dirty easily. I also want to address other comments from people, including; the edges being too sharp, the material quality/feel, and the price point.

    “Does it stay white?”

Yes. And surprisingly well. To be fair, I’ve only had this for a little over a week, so I cannot confirm if it fades over time (other reviews of Apple white cases/folios say they don’t), however, this thing is remarkably good at resisting dirt. I’m really not sure how, but it does not pick up dirt, and if it t a mark, it cleans off very easily.

    “Are the edges too sharp?”

Yes and no. Yes, because they can feel sharp when you’re holding it with the folio case folded closed on type iPad’s back. But you have to trust that this will dull over time, because it does. This is no longer a concern of mine either.

“Does the material feel weird? / It seems way too expensive.”

Valid question and concern. I’ll answer these both in the same response. No, it doesn’t feel weird or cheap, in my opinion. This thing isn’t leather. It’s a synthetic material that Apple engineered and almost certainly has patented because it’s so durable and unique feeling. It has a matte finish and the suede on the inside feels incredibly soft. This case is designed remarkably well and is a result of many improvements after learning from generations of iPad cases. The way this folio cover effortlessly attaches to the back of the iPad and aligns perfectly every time, is a testament to how well this product was designed alongside the iPad.

The bottom line is that you’re getting a premium product for a premium price. If you can afford it, it’s unlikely that you’ll dislike it after getting used to it. Highly recommended, especially in white!

    Do not buy. Bad quality

    • Written by Trent A from Bunbury

I thought better of apple. I could buy one the same on eBay for quarter the price and it would still be better quality. And there’s no apple logo. Even the rip off versions have an apple logo. The edges feel like they would start to tear away within a week of use. The plastic feels really tacky. Not worth your money. Save it for better third part cases. I am returning mine and gettin m mine back

I’m usually happy to pay the extra for official Apple cases because everything just works perfectly. However having taken delivery of this folio today I was left dissapointed. When the case is closed and also being used as a stand the case looks great. However when holding the iPad with the case folded over, it creates a sharp edge all the way round the back edge of the iPad. I have ended up taking this case off after an hour of use as it makes holding the iPad uncomfortable. (When case-less, the new Ipad has been my favourite to hold yet).

Also the case doesn’t have the usual imprinted Apple logo on the rear, not a big deal but leaves me feeling that the quality standards have slipped and the prices keep going up.

This is the first Apple product I’m going to return and I’ll hold out and see what magnetic cases 3rd party companies come up with in the coming weeks.
