Great ideas not so greatly executed.

    • Written by Geoffrey B from Liverpool

I gave them a go as I had been interested in them for a while. I love that they connected instantly out of the box to my iPhone and they switch seamlessly between other Apple devices. Stick them back in the case when done and they can even charge wirelessly on a Qi-enabled charging puck.

The microphones are also exceptional. Using them for calls nobody could tell I was wearing earphones. The tap for commands is also a great idea too.

And that is where my love of them ends. The sound quality is average, no bass and does very little to drown out ambient noise. I also found them unusable on flights. Not what you expect when you pay big money for earphones.

Then there is the fit. Great for people with smaller ear canal openings. But mine kept slipping round and falling out. I have decided to take them back.

    annoyed

one side would just randomly disconnect, stops charging, stops working... takes many many many many many many many many many many many many resets to get it to work again... for $200 I expected quality ... this has been super inconvenient.

Worse experience compared to AirPods 1

    • Written by Alexander K

I’ve upgraded primarily because of battery life and expected to have a product which is significant improvement to the first generation. Conclusion is AirPods 2 provide worse experience overall as 1) connectivity speed isn’t improved so much, 2) listening to music, they pause/play without being touched, 3) they disconnect from macbook/phone after minimal touch to fix them in the ear. Big disappointment, but no surprise seeing the iPhone 11. Apple is loosing any sense for creativity and innovation with every next product.

Don’t listen to the 1 stars

    • Written by Dave A from Fairview

These things are amazing, they have beautiful audio quality and fit great in my ears, yet the one stars are mostly bad audio quality or don’t fit. To the careless people in the world who said these were a bad quality, why don’t you see if they fit in your ears by buying a wired 5 dollar pair of your average earbuds from your local Walmart? They have the same design down to the millimeter, and the audio quality is probably being interfered with, same goes with the connection. Interference.

Annoying talking to people with Airpods

    • Written by Eric V from Peoria

People who own them love them... But how about people who DONT own them but still talk on the phone to people who do own them? Well, these ear buds are EXTREMELY loud. Airpods pick up ANY and ALL background noise and project that sound through the air pods into your phone. So you can't hear anything while the person on the other end is talking. It's extremely frustrating, especially when on an important call.

    Waste of money

    • Written by anne-marie K from DDO

If you are buying these to workout in, don’t. If you run they are constantly falling out. After about 9 months of using them, the left pod stopped charging. When I brought them to the store, I was told that they were fine and they needed to be reset. That worked for a short period of time. Now I’m back to them not charging and they are just over 1 year old...so nothing can be done. Very frustrating for the price you pay.

    Awesome!

    • Written by Randy A from Cupertino

This product is awesome!! Normally I avoid ear buds because they never fit well in my ears and fall out. These are perfect. They are incredibly secure and so light that I can't tell I have anything there. Sound is perfect, far better than Apples stereo pods and other systems that I have used. My assumption is that everyone who complains about difficulty connecting didn't bother to read the instructions, because I can't imagine anything simpler. Summary: I love these, and am already buying another pair as a gift for my daughter.

    AirPod 2nd generation Microphone

    • Written by Gabriel H from Lawrence

I’ve only had these 2nd generation AirPods for about 2 weeks and the microphone on both AirPods are already giving up. They don’t work well, if I want someone to hear me I have to manually set the microphone up to one AirPod and put that AirPod right in front of my mouth, sometimes that doesn’t work well either though. It also sounds like I’m very far away when I’m talking loud apparently.

I thought I was making a frivolous and stupid purchase. After having these for five minutes, I knew I was wrong. These are absolutely amazing. I was afraid they'd fall out of my ears, they don't. They sound great. The wireless charging pod is the BOMB. Genius.

    functional but annoying

    • Written by Dhaedra E from Houston

i’ve been hearing people ranting and raving about these stupid airpods for the longest, so i decided to buy some. honestly, the quality of them are super subpar for the price, they’re like basic earphones, but that’s not the problem. the problem is these things lOVE to disconnect out of nowhere, and its super annoying. when im out and i want to watch something, i don’t want to wrestle with something i spent 200 DOLLARS FOR JUST FOR THEM TO CONNECT. it takes endless attempts for them to connect sometimes, and when i finally get them to i lose interest bc i’ve wrestled with getting them to sync. also, they’ll slip out of your ear in a heartbeat, it’s seriously ridiculous. these things are overpriced and overhyped, and this is coming from a teenager (aka the people who overhype them the most). if you have perfectly functioning headphones, please just use those! don’t bother wasting your time with airpods. i honestly regret my purchase.

    Good Product

    • Written by Dirk P from South Milwaukee

My whole family and I own AirPods. We all find them very useful. If you are thinking about buying them I would greatly recommend them due to their size, their compatibility, and their sound.
AirPods are very compact. They come in a wireless charging case which can fit in your pocket. The actual pods are a little thicker than the wired earbuds but not heavy at all and not noticeable. I like to take them everywhere.
I have a few different devices, I like to use and listen to music from. When you first get your AirPods you have to manually connect them to any device but then after that they will connect automatically after you take them out and put them in your ears. They can also do that for multiple devices. An example is when I'm using my phone and AirPods I can turn off my phone and then open up my laptop and they connect to my laptop and vice versa.
The sound on the AirPods is great. The quality is much better than my old beats and I much prefer my AirPods. Compared to over ear headphones they don't have as good base but they do have great base considering they are wireless earbuds.
I love my Airpods and so does my family. I can bring them everywhere and the sound is really good. They are small and discreet so you can listen to music or whatever you want whenever.

    Wish I had not bought

    • Written by Jean K from Greenport

I had to push the AirPods so far into my ears that it hurt & they still popped with the slightest movement & I only wore in bed so I could listen to my iPad without disturbing my partner. I complained to my daughter in law about them & turns out my son had bought them for her & the very first time she used them, she went running & one popped out & into the east river. I have been an apple fan since my first apple purchase 10 years ago (4 laptops (3 were gifts) 3 iPhones & my iPad) This is the first apple purchase I regret & was a very expensive mistake. I’d give zero stars if I could.

    I hate these earphones

    • Written by Janae D from Camden

These earphones slip out constantly. They never stay in even if I am just sitting still. They slowly start sliding out and I have to push them back in with so much force that it actually hurts my ear. I even got some covers to help since for some reason apple decided to make their earphones out of the hardest material ever, but to no avail, they some how don’t even fit in my ears and they are still uncomfortable. I really wish I had not purchased these earphones. On a positive note, they do have incredible sound for the second they are in my ear before they start sliding out.

    Extremely dissatisfied

    • Written by Rashelle B from Omaha

I was really excited to get my airpods 2. I have to use both hands to get them to stay on my ears. I have to get them as far into my ear canal as possible, push in on it with one finger while I turn it towards my face with the other hand. I have to use so much force it is painful, but I paid so much for them I'm not just going to not use them. Even after this I can't move hardly at all or they come out. I can't even sing along with a song or eat. For the amount of money I paid, needless to say it upsets me. What research did you do that made you think one size fits all? A company as large as yours should really put more common sense into your products, but it seems making a ton of money is your main goal. For the price you're charging for these you should be ashamed. I own these, an iPhone X and an apple watch 4. You don't even want to get me started on the problems I've had with mu phone. Well I wasted alot money and am switching back to Android. Thanks for taking alot of money from me for nothing. I couldn't even write my review that I wanted because you didn't like a word, and it wasn't even a bad word. Pathetic.

    • Written by Shamsul A from North cheam

I had a lot interest to buy but after bought it I am very upset, when I drive I cannot redial to any number, my waze navigation volume sometimes very low, suddenly up. Don’t know this tried to fix same thing unless use both earbuds, the other thing can’t volume up or down while driving. They should put all this as it’s very expensive.

    Literally the Best Apple Product

    • Written by Darsh K from Bolingbrook

These AirPods are the best headphones hands down. They are so compact, fit so well in my ears, and I can take them anywhere. I found that I began wearing these headphones where I usually didn't because I would forget that they are in my ear and are just so discrete. Great job Apple for making these headphones. One of my best purchases.

Bluetooth doesn't connect 60% of the time. Otherwise beautiful speakers.

    • Written by Kalle H from Freiburg

I couldn't help but write my first review here. The AirPods are great, but: bluetooth connectivity is a disaster. I would say that 60% of the time the AirPods simply don't connect on the first try. You have to switch bluetooth off and on again, or reset the AirPods. This is the case with all my devices - my MacBook Pro, my iPhoneX and the Apple Watch. To be honest, most of the time I'm just trying to pair them. It's not Apple's fault. Bluetooth is a slow and outdated communication standard. Otherwise the AirPods are beautifully designed with amazing sound and good battery life.
