    Stopped working just after warranty ran out

    Great headphones when they worked but now they are broken after 14 months. I don’t even use them that often. Mainly when I fly. I’d be surprised if I’ve used them more than 50 times. They won’t stay connected, won’t stay turned on and won’t stay charged anymore. Looks like a mechanical fault with the wiring inside. They only seem to stay powered up in the the curled up position that you have to put them in to put in the case. SPEND YOUR £100 ON DIFFERENT EARPHONES PLEASE.

    BeatsX are good but the Customer Service was GREAT!

    I got the BeatsX earphones for Xmas and use them everyday at work. Within 6 months of purchase they stopped turning on while I was working. I have had 3 back/neck surgeries so hands free is very important to me. I cant hold the phone with my shoulder and write without a lot of pain. So, I called Apple and spoke to a very friendly woman who took down my info and answered my questions. We opened a service order on Wednesday at 3:00pm. Thursday morning I received the return box and called fedex for a pickup that afternoon and sent them in. Later that evening about 26 hours from my first phone call to apple I received a text from fedex telling me that my new package was in route and today I received my new BeatsX. THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE AND A WARRANTY!!!!! Made a phone call to someone on the other side of the country and within a day and a half I had a new pair of Beats at my office. That's impressive.

    Maybe the third ones will be better...

    I typically don't write negative review but this product is so frustratingly terrible if I keep one person from buying them it was worth the time. I got mine in October for my birthday. By April they already started having problems not turning on (3 blinking white lights). It would happen randomly till one day it happened indefinitely. I figured I just got a bad pair and since it was well within warranty they were replaced for free.

    I received my second pair and within 2 months they started shutting off randomly, even with a full charge. It would happen more and more frequently and now they barely even stay on for more than 3 minutes at a time before shutting off. Since I'm still within the warranty of the new ones, I guess I'll give a third pair the ol' college try.

    Check back in a few months for the inevitable disappointment I'll experience and write about. Do yourself a favor and get something else; I beg of you.

    So much promise. You WILL be letdown

    What a great idea. Small profile, painless pairing with the iPhone via the W1 chip, great microphone for easy phone conversations, good enough music. But they just can’t stay working!!! For the first few years, Apple would send me a new one when broken so I wasn’t ready to raise arms about the issue. But it seems like they have realized the breadth of their issue, and have put a red light on issuing new replacements - this surely as a measure to stop the hemorrhage of investment in a failed product line.

    I am somewhat relieved to know that I am not alone in my suffering, but disappointed that Apple has failed to take responsibility for its failed products.

    They Break, easily

    I had mine for 15 months and they where working just fine. Best headphones I had ever had, until... one day, the just quit working. I looked up how to fix them and nothing worked. They where dead and gone. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

    cheap product

    I bought this product and I i have spent more time trying to get it replace. I have sent it back to apple 3 times within 1 year. I have not misused this product and to each time i get a replacement it is always the same problem battery will not charge. This product is rubbish and Apple needs to recall and provide customers with good quality products

    Apple should be ashamed of these headphones

    First off, I love the sound and functionality of these earphones. When they work, they are easily the best pair of earphones I've ever owned. So why the one star review? Because I'm now on my fourth pair (all replaced under warranty) in under 12 months.

    Not of quality. I would not recommend.

    These headphones are not of quality. I would not recommend them. I have had two pairs of these headphones. I liked them because they were wireless and compact. I use them on planes and very occasionally to work out or run. The first pair just stopped holding battery. I would charge them and as long as they were plugged in the little light on them was on and all seemed well. As soon as you unplug (which you have to to use them), they go completely dead as a rock. This happened after 12 months. Then i sent in to be replaced by Apple. They sent me another (new?) pair. That pair worked as expected for 2.5 months until suddenly only one ear consistently produced audio. This remains to this day. I have reached out again to apple, but have yet to receive a response. I have to say, unless I can be convinced these incidents are a fluke, I will be purchasing my next earphones elsewhere.These headphones are not of quality. I would not recommend them.

    Wanna give more stars but..

    Had my BeatsX for over a year now. They’ve been great. They charge fast and sound pretty good. They dangle a bit too long sometimes. I wish there was something to fix that. Now to the only actual problem. All of a sudden they won’t work. I’m getting a pinkish white solid light that I can’t turn off. They won’t reset, power down, or connect. I don’t know what this is it seems to charge. These aren’t throw away earphones there needs to be an explanation. Like I like them but to buy them at such a price to have them just stop working unexpectedly without any answer is disheartening to say the least.

    Right ear piece stopped working after 14 months

    2 months after warranty expired the right ear piece stopped working. Now Apple wants 85.99 to fix it when I can get a new one for 99.95. Gee, thanks.

    Never let me down

    I've been on the same pair of BeatsX earphones since they were released and they haven't let me down once. No software, build or quality issues, they've never missed a Beat (sorry!). I'm reading some terrible reviews of these earphones but I've never had any of the grief others seem to have experienced and mine have been through the wringer!

    I'm looking at Powerbeats Pro's next, but that's only because the media reviews say the sound is amazing and nothing to do with any quality issues on my BetasX and I'll still be hanging on to them.

    Sound great until they stop working

    Just as everyone else said, these just stopped working one day. I think it is also important to underscore how ridiculous apple support is as well. Though I'm in the process of getting these sent back, the hoops I had to jump through to is silly. Had to login and use two factor auth to even get to a representative. They offer no refund policy, just a replacement until they deem they've done everything they can, then they'll charge you for the time you used them. So best case? I do this over and over again until someone determines I'm eligible and at that point, I'm sure I'll have enough 'usage' they won't offer any payback. I stopped using Apple stuff for this exact reason. Moral is: pay either $30 or $200 for headphones. Don't bother with beatsx.

    Poor Quality, No Longer Work

    I was gifted a pair and used them occasionally over the last year and a half. Despite being hardly used and handled gently (and away from water), they no longer function. The light goes on when they charge, but will not turn on when unplugged from the charger. Tried all the different remedies online, including various resets, but nothing works and they are now out of warranty.

    $180 (CAD) piece of junk.

    Great, but didn't last very long !

    Great headphones, sounded good, nice and portable, best in the market for what they do and the price. However considering they lasted little over a year for me, they are of poor build quality... wouldn't recommend unless you're ok with buying another pair just outside of warranty period.

    Broke after 10 months, do not buy.

    I thought they were a pretty good set of headphones and decent sound quality, but after 10 months they wouldn't switch on. Tried charging them as I thought the battery was flat and the lights flashed, but no good, they were dead! After reading online this is a common problem and that Apple are very unlikely to repair or replace them. Very disappointed with this purchase and unlikely to buy apple/beats products again.

    They Break Every 3-6 Months

    These headphones break every 3-6 months, and need to be replaced at the Apple Store. They stop working for no reason, and the Apple employees can't fix them and then they give me a new pair. I think I'm on my 5th or 6th pair right now. Something is wrong with this product. If they didn't keep breaking, I would love these earphones. They have good noise isolation and the W1 pairing is easy. It's a shame that they break all the time. It is really bad.

    Will Fail, Fast. Much too expensive for that.

    I am on my third pair, which has just died. The first, from 2017, died in warranty. Replacement involves going to the Genius Bar and a lengthy wait. You do not just get a replacement from stock: they mail you one, so that takes another ten days or so. Apple may wish to have comments limited to the device, but know that you are also going to be paying for a Genius appointment, and to live without Bluetooth headphones for some period: I think that's worth knowing. That pair also died, but Apple only gives a 90-day warranty on that, so I got a new refurb pair rather than paying the $79 out-of-warranty repair cost which again means getting some mailed to you. While outside 90 days, that failure was also in less than a year. That third pair has also just died with the "three red lights" problem, which is exactly what happened to the other two, and seems to be a failure of battery management software that cannot be fixed by a reset or plugging the Beats X into a Mac to update software. That is three pairs in 27 months, so an average of nine months per pair. This is endemic. This is a bad product: the sound is fine and the functionality OK, albeit with the really arbitrary placement of the mic and buttons on the left rather than the right. But it is WAY too expensive for this kind of reliability, and it also makes something of a mockery of the claims of environmental friendliness. Avoid these: it is not just that battery life will deteriorate, but that the product will fail, with no apparent reason.

    3rd PAIR and still no luck!

    I've been through 3 pairs of these in 2 years owning from sudden mechanical or software problems. I'll typically get half a year of use out of them and then they start stuttering, or 1 bud goes out completely, or the whole thing just doesn't turn on. Fortunately, I have not bought a single replacement, but this is just unacceptable.

    Trash!!!! Do not buy!

    these won't turn no! I tried everything on their website, the light works when its plugged in but the moment I unplug it, it stops working altogether and there's no light! a complete waste of money, if there was an option for 0 stars, believe me, that's what I'd be giving it! can't believe they're still being sold after so many complaints and no solved problems! a complete scam
