    Stream music with AirPlay.

AirPlay takes the music from the iTunes library on your computer or iOS device and sends it wirelessly to any connected stereo or speakers in your home (audio cable sold separately). Play music on one set of speakers — or if you have more than one AirPort Express connected to speakers, play your music from iTunes on all of them at the same time.

    Print wirelessly from any room.

On the back of AirPort Express is a USB port that’s made for your printer. Just plug it in and instantly it’s like having a printer in every room. And since AirPort Express works with Mac and PC, everyone in the house can take advantage of one centrally available printer.

      Great Wireless Extender

Had Airport Extreme Base Station with 2 airport expresses set up to extend wireless networks to corners of house with weak signals. Not really totally happy Had Airport Extreme Base Station with 2 airport expresses set up to extend wireless networks to corners of house with weak signals. Not really totally happy with old airport express's performance so I thought I would try new new Airport Express. All I can say is wow. Positioned new express between area where the old two expresses were. Now my speed in either of the corners of the house where the old airport express's were has nearly doubled. Best $100 I have spent for awhile. Because of form factor, also looks cool sitting on table. This new express basically replaced the two older airports and increases download speed. Whats not to like? Highly recommend if planning on using it to extend wireless network.

We have been through so many routers that I was about to give up all together. I finally decided to give this tiny little item with the big price tag (in my world)a try. It was simple to set up and most importantly powerful. Our biggest issue was the amount of items would cause some items to drop off or a lot of time no one was able to connect at all. We would reset our router at least 4 times a day on average. With 2 iPads, 3 kindles, 4 cell phones, 2 computers, apple tv, and 3 game systems it never seemed to work out for us. Now with this little miracle worker everyone is connected all the time with no issues. We have had it set up for a week and I haven't reset it once. I am so happy that I could just dance.

This Express knocks the previous version from the curb to the next city!! Way to go Apple!!! If you need a wireless device to extend your current network, this This Express knocks the previous version from the curb to the next city!! Way to go Apple!!! If you need a wireless device to extend your current network, this thing is hands-down the best device on the planet right now!!! Setup took 30 seconds, maybe a minute!!! Works flawlessly with all 10 devices we are connecting to the Wi-Fi... even our flatscreen TV can now see & play the shared iTunes file on our network drive!!!

      Make your own AirPlay speakers

I have two A With many speaker manufacturers no longer making AirPlay compatible speakers, the AirPort Express is a great way to make your own AirPlay speakers! I have two AirPort Expresses and use them in different rooms exclusively for AirPlay. I have each AirPort Express connected to a decent set of computer speakers that are always on and connected to the AirPort Express. When configured as an AirPlay receiver, you just select the device from iTunes or iOS device and playback starts. I am thinking about buying more to expand my AirPlay network.

I think the express is well worth the investment, and I have found these to be more reliable than the AirPort Extreme (I have had to return two Extreme units - malfunctioning)

In all there iteration. The earlier generations still work as they always did but speed has also improved with every upgrade. These are forgettable and I mean that in a GOOD way. Like it's bigger brothers they work transparently. Simple to set up - small, compact and the OPTICAL audio is surprisingly good. I use these over the airplay chip in my so called 'hi end' airplay speakers while the speaker axiom is great the built in airplay antenna wasn't - connecting one of these made it robust - Apple just does a better job. I WILL BUY again and again, for as long as they exist. Steve new good products needed a pleasant connected experience.
