  • Overview

The 60 Watt MagSafe Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector that ensures your power cable will disconnect if it experiences undue strain and helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector will light up; an amber light lets you know that your portable is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC lead is provided with the adapter for maximum lead length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives users an even easier and more compact way to travel.

Designed to be the perfect travelling companion, the adapter has a clever design that allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

This power adapter recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on, or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.

Compatible with MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Pro.

S Apple needs to rethink the design of the Magsafe power adaptors. I have bought replacement Magsafe Power adaptors in the past because they don't always last. Sometimes 1-2 years but this recent one only lasted 3 months. At $80 per adaptor this is ridiculous. Read online, many consumers have had the same issues.

      Dear Apple

I really, really do. You're making it difficult though. I couldn't blame you when my old, T-style power adapter broke after a couple years. I was even excited when I saw the sleek, new, redesigned L-style. However, that one broke too- but this time, it was after only about two months. I tried not to take it out on you, and figured that maybe I got the one bad one in the batch, or that maybe I had been too rough with it. But here I am, typing away, pausing occasionally to wiggle the cord in order to get it to work again- for a few seconds at least. Yes, thats right, my SECOND L-style magsafe has broken, also after only a couple months. Finally, I'm realizing that it's not me, it's YOU. And you just don't seem to realize that. I called Apple support only to be told that there are "no known issues" with the L-style magsafe adapter. Oh really? Dearest apple, do you ever read the reviews your products receive? Obviously there is a known issue, and its that this product simply doesn't work if you use it for more than a month! I've enjoyed your sleek design and better usability, but honestly, I think I'm leaving you. For a PC.

Have had it a total of maybe, 2-3 weeks and if I want to charge my laptop the cable has to be put into a very specific position. Also the metal head that connects to your macbook gets very hot and can burn you. I will be requesting a replacement and would hope that apple would stop using cheap materials and over charging because of their brand.

      A Joke

apple really needs to get it together. it feels like i'm buying a charger once a year this point and that's beyond ridiculous. after i paid over 2000 dollars fo apple really needs to get it together. it feels like i'm buying a charger once a year this point and that's beyond ridiculous. after i paid over 2000 dollars for a laptop to keep having to shell out cash on an 80+ dollar laptop charger is laughable. this time there wasn't even exposed wiring from their cheap rubber that houses the wiring and it somehow still? gave out? i can't even make sense of it. the charger is in perfect condition and yet it refuses to charge my laptop. i'm over this.

      Seriously, what the actual heck.

$80 for a cord that breaks in a week. No matter how well you take care of this cord it will always break. There is nothing you can do. I cannot believe that $80 for a cord that breaks in a week. No matter how well you take care of this cord it will always break. There is nothing you can do. I cannot believe that they're charging $80 for a cord that won't last for a week. You'll end up buying hundreds of these. DO NOT BUY THIS. GET IT OFF AMAZON OR WHATEVER. IT WILL SAVE YOU MONEY

This is the second time this has happened and given the scorch marks around the disintegrated cable outer it could easily have started a fire. If this was on a car there would be an urgent recall. Come on Apple if you are going to charge so much then at least make it a quality durable item.
