The ram for a macbook pro with retina display is soldered into the motherboard. You can't add ram after you've purchased the computer. Basically, apple makes their laptops so you can't add ram later so that you have to buy it from them at the time of purchase. So no, this ram is not compatible with your laptop (unless you are a professional you might be able to do it, not sure. It is definitely difficult. I wouldn't recommend trying it). Also, even if a professional could add ram to the MBPR, I pretty sure this ram is meant for the non-retina MBP, not the retina version. Hope this answered your question!
