can thunderbolt cable be used for LAN/internet connection??

i want to use thunderbolt port for ethernet connection so that i get a better internet speed ...can this be done?

Can I connect a new Macbook Air with Thunderbolt cable to an older iMac with a mini-display port only?

Can I connect a new Macbook Air with Thunderbolt cable to an older iMac with a mini-display port only? If not, Apple should introduce thin, 27-inch display (as on newer iMacs). Why would I buy current Thunderbolt display when it's basically my current iMac, less the computer part, with the additional ports?

can a new macbook air thunderbolt to an imac-2010 with mini display port

i bought a thunderblot cable without checking my imac2010 very carefully. now i found my imac only has one minidisplay port. is it possible to connect my macbook air(2011new with thunderbolt) to the minidisplay of imac? i tried the com+f2 on my imac, but it doesn't work.

i am really confused by apple, the thunderbolt fit very well to the mini display port.

UAD to Thunderbolt

If you upgrade to a new computer one that doesn't have a express card for your laptop then you have to use the thunderbolt option. What I want to know is what adaptor do you use to connect the UAD card to the thunderbolt cable.

I've read I can connect an iMac-TBLT via minidisplayport-HDMI-cable with a TV.  Can I connect vice versa a DVD/Blueray-Player with my TBLT-iMac27"?

Can this cable be used to transfer digital audio signal to another divice like a DAC?

Can this Thunderbolt cable be used to transfer digital audio signal to another digital divice like a DAC, or a digital multi chanel audio-mixtable ?
(or in the future maybe?)

My main problem is that they have took the digital audio S/P-DFI away from the last generation Mac mini ;(
And there are no other digital audio ports anymore.

(PS: the hdmi port is used for my monitor. (but it have no audio)


and don't talk me about USB output. USB gave always digital distortion (Jitter)
As USB never have been build for this purpose.
