    Amazing power supply!

I really cannot for the life of me figure out why there are so many negative complaints about this power supply. I have owned Windows based laptops until buying a Macbook Pro and those all had clumsy, cheaply made power supplies with clunky connectors. I love the Apple MacSafe and it's forward thinking design. It is well crafted and expertly made. I can see it lasting many years. What I think is that people today do not take care of their gear and expect everything to withstand being thrown around, dropped and stepped on. Any electrical item will fail given that treatment. Apple makes the best, period!

    DO BETTER APPLE!!!!!

Of all the Apple products I've owned over the past 11 years(lots).......this is the worst. On average failing every couple years, for a power cord!!! At $80 a pop this is a sham. If Apple wants us to own it's cords to prevent hazardous occurrences from 3rd party cheaper cords then it had better do a much better job making these. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING TO SEE ANOTHER CORD STOP WORKING AND TO SEE ANOTHER $80 RUNG UP!

    Had to get it replaced

The cable got torn where it goes into the computer exposing the electrical wiring inside. Bad design maybe?

    TERRIBLE

For like the first few days it was ok but then it got really REALLY worst , it only works when in certain positions , £65 it was! VERY EXPENSIVE, i would definetly recommend to get one off ebay as its cheaper and probably better , its like im being scammed to pay £65 for something which is faulty, Buy the T shape from amazon or ebay , apple stopped selling them WORST THING TO DO !!!!!!

    Charger for MacBook

This is a horrible product. I am on my third one. Such an expensive product should not be subject to the wires fraying. I am really disappointed that Apple would allow such a poor quality product on the market and do nothing to correct it after receiving all of these terrible reviews.

    60 Watt L Power adapter.

Very poor quality. The L end breaks off and there is no way to repair it. Replacement is expensive. Get a new power supply design Apple.

Two new power cords in two years

My first power cord lasted less than a year and was still under warranty. The outer material of the cord actually split open. I improvised and wrapped some electrical tape around the tear until I get make my way over to the Apple store for a replacement. The genius bar person I spoke with said that he'd "never seen this happen before" (really, almost every review on here is referencing the same issue I'm having) and it looked like something had torn it open and they would cover it this time because I was within my first year window but if it happened again I would have to pay the $80 to replace it.

Well, what do you know, the exact same issue has happened again, not more than a year later. I've gone back to electrical tape. It looks terrible, but seems to be working. I just can't justify paying $80 for a new power cord when it's clearly an Apple issue that is being ignored.

I have a white macbook and these simply do not last. so unfortunate

    What they said.

I'm probably on my 5th charger now (not to mention my third macbook).
Everybody else mentions the poor quality of the charger, which is very true, but there are few who've actually mentioned the abysmal DESIGN of the unit itself.
Putting all the weight on the end of the charger means that with americas terrible parallel-pronged wall plug arrangement ( I I ) , the thing literally falls out of the wall with the slightest movement or pull of the cord. Additionally, as a result of the tall head, the unit often doesn't fit into overseas plug converters.

    Rip off!

These chargers do not last long at all and are way overpriced! I had to replace mine because the end fell apart and was heating up so much I thought it was going to catch on fire..

    Utter Rubbish

3rd charger in less than two years. Same cycle every time; the magnetic bit keeps pulling off and sticking in my laptop and after a while the magsafe refuses to charge my macbook. Apple need to get their heads together and sort this out. Cant be spending £65 every term

    Disappointed with quality...

This is a poor product plain an simple. I have the same issue as has been reported MANY times on this site. I was hopeful it would last given the L-shaped design but, alas, I was disappointed again. Normally, I am a big fan of apple products but this is clearly a product that is not up to apple standards. Literally one year and 13 days after I bought this product, the wire frayed open exposing the inner wires. Now, I am reluctant to buy another one for fear of it happening again. With such shoddy workmanship, it definitely not worth the $89 they charge for it.

    Too expensive

ive had my macbook pro for just over a year when my charger cable is starting to do weird things and will only charge if its place perfectly.. if you bump it it will stop. i payed close to 2000 dollars for this computer just for the charger to stop working after a year and they expect me to pay another 100 just for a charger? i thought i was buying a good product.

    If Apple had a soul....

They would replace our power adaptors at no charge. This is a horribly designed product and to charge us $80/year for their engineering inadequacies is beyond absurd.

Lastly, there should be a zero star option because this thing doesn't deserve even a single star.

    Failed to work

We have a 2010 Macbook Pro and unfortunately damaged the head of our original power adaptor whilst moving furniture. I was really reluctant to purchase an Apple replacement on the strength of these reviews, but rely on the Macbook and hoped that I might soon join the ranks of the minority of satisfied customers.

With much trepidation, the new power adaptor arrived the following day and simply failed to work. I spent a whole morning wading through troubleshooting guides, speaking to technical teams and updating the operating system software, but none of these actions made the slightest difference.

I am now awaiting a further replacement, but don't hold out much hope. This is bitterly disappointing, particularly given the premium pricing of Apple products.

Surely these reviews should be triggering some action from Apple.

    power adapters

While I love Apple products, I am sick of paying for replacement cords. This is the 3rd one (at almost $100) for my Mac Book Pro, not to mention countless new cords for ipods and iPhones. Apple Support wants to say there are no known issues but if you simply read the reviews, perhaps you could get out of denial. Apples innovations have made them the company they are but as others catch up AND HONOR THEIR PRODUCTS, don't expect to stay at the top.
