If I Could Give 0 Stars; I Would.

This product is a complete joke. It just refuses charge at random, and there is no way you can fix it. I had to buy a brand new one for $80 and then that one broke. I am never buying another Apple product again after this. A complete waste of my time and money and a load of unnecessary stress. Thanks for nothing, Apple.

    what a shame!!!!

Had my new macbook pro out of it's box for less than 5 hours before the adapter failed. I am covered under warranty, but still very upsetting! I have many other apple products which I am greatly satisfied with. Hope this isn't the start of an issue like the others already mentioned when related to this adapter.

    Shame

It is such a shame for a company like Apple to sell such a mediocre product at an absolutely ridiculous high price. Apple should reconsider this product and try to improve this product for two main reasons: A. Apple would be saving money due to those customers that are under warranty and B. Although the customer loyalty is excellent, it will increase customer satisfaction.

    Shockingly poor

I’ve now had three break and always the same thing as what pretty much everyone on here has been saying. The longest i’ve had one last is about 6 months and at £50 a pop its an absolute joke. Put it this way I was very displeased to have to give this product one star. It deserves none.

    Worst apple product

I am a big fan of Apple products, but this power adapter is awful. I'm on my third one in two years. I've never had this many problems with an adapter in my entire life. If they were not so incredibly expensive, I wouldn't care. But to charge me 80 dollars for a piece of junk that goes bad within months of buying it does not sound like Apple's M.O.

    Doesn't last long

Bought a replacement less than two years ago and now the charger is no longer working because the cord has a tear due to poor material quality. For $80, expected it to last longer.

    Just sops working.

That's the fourth time I'll have to replace it. Right now it's not working.

    more to it...

OK, so I've had my MacBook for over four years now and my charger just gave out today... I don't understand why people are having so much trouble with the new ones. Now that I have to buy a new one, I'm a little concerned. My charger was usually plugged in at night, while during the day, I only brought the computer with me to school. I never wrapped the cord around, as I left it loose on the floor. It honestly seems as if the quality has decreased, and Apple may not do anything about it. Why? Because we are consumers who are paying for a specific brand and we will pay whatever in order to make it work. The only way they may fix the issue is if we stop buying their products... oh! Look at the value of shares decrease.... just saying. Right now, business is through the roof... Morality is far behind......

The Best Feature of The Mac

I have had at least 10 laptops in my household that have all had problems with the power adapter breaking. The most prominent example is my father tripping on his HP's power cable, and now it is all squirrelly. I am so grateful that I don't have to deal with that. And as far as everyone saying that it doesn't last; mine broke after a year and a half and the the Apple store replaced it for free (out of warranty!)

    Ridiculous

This thing is way too flimsy to cost $80. I however need it so here I go...

    Does not Last AT ALL.

I am a University student, and when my dad took me out to buy a laptop, I fell in love with the 13" Mac Book Pro. I am currently a junior, and I am about to order my FOURTH charger. I don't know WHY these chargers do not last, but my homework is all writing and internet extensive. PLEASE, PLEASE, do something about the design to help make it last. Sometimes they only last a few months, this recent one has almost made it a year. But that's not good enough.

    This is disappointing for customers

I have two 13" laptop and power adaptor keeps on failing. Apple should rethink on this item again. Right now, i have no option then to buy again and again that power adapter to keep my laptops running

    ridiculous!

I've had 7 chargers in the past 6 months... some lasting mere days before frying themselves (which were ultimately replaced). The most recent one lasted 3 months! I'm a student, I can't afford to keep doing this. The original my laptop came with lasted 3.5 years before it had to be replaced, this new one is just plain ridiculous!

    A little disappointed.

I definitely like this design for the Magsafe feature better, but because the cord thickness has still not been changed, the lifetime is short. I've had my MacBookPro since July '10 ... not even two years later I have to fiddle with the wire and coil it a certain way for it to continue charging. And because the cord is light and not noticeable people are constantly tripping over it and/or pulling it from my laptop. While I know this is the point, so your laptop doesn't end on the floor, but the last time it happened the magnet piece stayed and the cord part came out. The nub at the top of the wire looks like if you were to jimmy it back it it would continue to work, but that was not the case. Now I have to purchase a new power cord because the institution that I purchased my MacBookPro from doesn't cover that kind of damage.

Power adapter (60W) for MacBook Pro FAILS after 11 months

Not much to say... Power adapter (60W) for MacBook Pro was purchased in 2011 and failed just after 11 months. Apple store folks had confirmed diagnosis and replaced it for $62.
In contrast DELL notebook charges (provided at work) live for 5-7 years. Yes longer than notebooks themselves, yet they are still compatible.

    Not Great

I had this power adapter for only about 18 months but it has started to work quite awfully - and I'm really good about taking care of my MacBook stuff, so I'm quite frustrated. Please, people over there designing these things, make it last!

    Life: 3 weeks...

I'm completely serious when I say I bought my computer 3 weeks ago. The charger is now dead. Shame on you apple for making such a bad product.

    Inexcusably low quality.

I have always been impressed with the high quality and durability of Apple products... until I went through THREE of these chargers in under a year. I have followed every direction Apple gives (both in manuals and through their employees) - I don't tightly spool the wires, I don't leave it plugged in any longer than I absolutely must, etc. And still, somehow these burn out in just a few months. After spending about $250 dollars on these chargers, for the first time ever I miss my old Dell products.

    Terrible

My charger lasted for a whole 18 months and it cost me 89euro to get a new one. It has no wear and tear it just doesn't work. I expected much more from apple, this product is a plain disappointment. For that amount of money they should do much better.

    Really?!

Who ever designed this really could have cared less about how long it would last.

Why is the wire on one half of the adapter really nice and thick and the other one as thin as earbuds. Why do you think people have to replace their earbuds every few months.....Same thing applies to the charger.

    It's just very poorly designed!!

This should have half a star because thats all it deserves.
I would think that they'd redesign it, since its so poorly rated...but I guess not.
