    Terrible

Short and sweet version: it breaks 2 months after first bought. I'm on my 5th cable in a year. I'm so glad apple makes such reliable products.

    3 Lightning Cables Failed

I have three cables. Each one has failed one way or another.

Cable one: The Bedside Cable. The cable fell apart. The rubber coating broke which exposed the wires. I only used this cable at night and it never moved from the nightstand. It completely stopped working shortly after wires were exposed.

Cable two: The Kitchen Cable. Just stopped working; no sign of damage.

Cable three: The Car Charger. The Lightning tip touched a little snow this Winter and now it will only charged when plugged in a certain way.

My previous Android phones used the micro USB and those things were like little tanks and I never had a single problem with one (except one that was really poor quality). This is not the quality I expect from Apple.

    Worst

Best phone in the world with worst charging cable.
Selling out a high price phone with such a short duration working charging cable. Why apple?
Read the reviews and not a single review in favour of it.
Expensive charging cable doesn't mean bad quality just with a good brand image.
Please make good charging cable from iPhone 6 onwards.

    useless cable

I take good care of my things. Even my $10 headphones last longer than the lightning cable. Why is it so hard for you to make a good one. In less than a year, I have to change 3 times for the cable itself. Such a lousy product with an expensive price. Not worth it. Your product is getting nastier phones by phones.

    Disappointed

I'm really disappointed by the charger, I've gone through 3 in the past year and I don't expect to have to keep buying replacement chargers having spent a whole lot of money on my iPad after saving up for over a year by doing extra (hard) work. The price of the charger is way too high, I would have thought it would be acceptable if the charger was of a higher quality. I look after my chargers carefully always pulling it out by the base and not the wire but it repeatedly breaks. What frustrates me further more is if Apple isn't going to improve the charger or reduce the price which I really can't afford is that the non Apple chargers (which are of a much higher quality and a fraction of the price) are t allowed to be used.
Last time my charger broke I had to go for 4 weeks without using my iPad which is a real inconvenience as much of my school work is saved on it. This is real disappointment Apple.

    Breaks

These chargers break all the time and just stop charger, it's a manufacturing defualt and either apple fixes this or gives me a free new one every time mine break because I'm tired of buying new ones.

    Low quality

This product is very disappointing. We have three I phone in the house and this cable has been replaced six times in one year.
It stops charging phone, poor quality shame on a company that makes so many other good products.

    I hate these chargers

I have had the iPhone 5 for about a year now and I have had 7 chargers and the one I currently have is starting to need to be maneuvered in different ways for it to work which happened to all my past chargers before they broke. This is absolutely ridiculous!!! I am not the only one who has had this problem my brother also has an iPhone 5 and he has had the same charger problems! Apple needs to fix these chargers and figure out why they keep breaking!!!!

    WORST CABLE IN HISTORY!!!!

I have had a 30 pin cable for more than 4 years and it works like magic but the lightening cable is so bad that I can't believe this is an Apple product!! My sister bought a new iPhone 5S just 2 weeks ago and she takes real good care of all her products but this cable didn't even last 2 weeks! Seriously!!! It's terrible and Apple should give a refund or exchange these cables for free.

    3rd broken cable since Christmas!

I purchased two iPad minis for Christmas 2013. Since then I've had to replace each of the cables, and this week another one went bad. These cables are terrible. I have some original charging cables from my iPhone 3G that are still working just fine. Apple needs to do something about these!

    Samsung here I come!

Apple you need to get a grip! 4 dead charging leads in 12 months. This wouldn't be a problem if the only cost £1
(Still inconvenient). My Nokia charger was still going after 3 years, so the technology exists. I believe Apple are getting arrogant with their market share, but they will have to do it without me. "Hello Samsung"

Please create a cable that actually works!

I have an ipad with lightening conductor cable and thought I had been doing something wrong until I read the reviews. I am on to my 4th cable now in less than a year and have found it both frustrating and a bit dangerous that the cables are such poor quality. The latest cable after a month started to give me electric shocks (at first only small ones so I thought it was static), then I realised that it was actually the quality of the cable.

Once again I am about to go out and get another cable so that I can actually get my ipad to work. The old iphone I have (which is about 4 years old) is only on the second cable...... does this speak volumes about the 'improvement' the new connector has made!

I am willing to pay for the apple connector BUT it must work!

I was also looking to upgrade and get a new Apple phone, but reading these reviews, I am really thinking about changing and going for a different make instead.

Bad Quality, can't last long, expensive.

This cable is not worth the money, this is poor quality and not lasting. Apple has made good iPhones, why are you fail on the charger cables? Not happy.

    iPhone 5 charging cord

    Actual rating -0
We have 3 iphone 5's in our home.
All 3 original cords stopped working.
We now have tried another 5 more!!
    THEY ALL STOP WORKING!
    The amount of money we
have spent on chargers is not acceptable.
    WHY???
It's an argument everyday to get the cord that works.
This stress and arguing about it, is not what
I signed up for buying an apple product.
    DISAPPOINTED in you apple.

    Awful

This is a cheaply produced, abysmally designed product which Apple have the cheek to sell for a massively inflated price. The cable kinks, frays and invariably ceases to work within months. This wouldn't happen with the cheapest charging cable for a no-name brand. It is outrageous that Apple sell this as a 'premium' product.

    WHY DO THEY MAKE THESE

I have gone through 3 of these in the past year. I take good care of my stuff and I always remove the charger by the base and not the wire. And even though the wire looks like its in good shape the internals are not since for the past few days I had to have the wire bent a certain way to charge it....but today it finally broke. THERE ARE LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF 1 STAR REVIEWS FOR THIS CABLE...WHY WOULD THEY KEEP MAKING IT. Apple. High price products that looks expensive but are ultimately horrible.

    The worst charger ever!

I've gone through 3 chargers in less than a year and now my forth one just stopped working yesterday. Apple needs to find a fix and in the mean time, give customers free replacements because its a product defect.
