Apple needs to improve this urgently

I was forced to purchase another 2m iPad cable approximately three months ago, it has already started to fray and I will need to replace it yet again! iPads are premium products and yet the charger quality seem no better than something I would buy at a thrift shop. This is disgraceful, whilst I am sure this increases the profit margin for the company, heavy users of their iPads (like myself) are being pressed. I depend on my iPad as a disabled person I can't get out and about, I certainly shouldn’t have to (and can’t afford to) keep replacing such an essential part of kit!

Terrible quality for such an outrageous price

This 2m cable is useless in less than 3 months. Unbelievable!! You can get a generic cable for the third part of the price of this one and it will work great for years, but it looks like Apple has decided to apply the programmed obsolescence with their cables as well (sarcasm). Come on Apple!! You guys used to make great products in the past.

$1000 for iPhone and $30 for a Cheap Cable.

So apple charges $1000 for iPhone and $30 for a Cheap lightning Cable that last maybe 8 months.
I bought this cable because it's 2 Meters long and I need it for my iPhone & iPad.
Today I had to return it to the apple store to get replacement because it stopped working.
This is the 3rd Time I've had trouble with the Apple Lightning Cable. What is your problem Apple ?
What do you do with all this money you make from loyal customers like myself that you can't have a Solid working Charger Cable ????

    works great!

I was kind of nervous to purchase this cord after some of the bad reviews but I have had the cord for a few months and it works great. It charges so much faster than the cheap cords and seems to be really good quality. The length is perfect.

    Terrible

Why can't you make a charging cable to last longer than a few months? I would buy off brand cables but they won't charge my Apple products. SO IRRITATING! Please fix this issue!!!!!!!

    Apple chargers

Thought I was the only having problems with the new charger for iPad Pro. I’ve used Apple products along with their chargers for years. The chargers used to hold up great! Never had issues with their old chargers. Since upgrading to iPad Pro, I noticed charging is hit and miss. I’ll plug in and get message it’s not charging. Blinks on and off. I take great care with all my devices and chargers as instructed. There’s no reason why an excellent (and costly) product would come with a subpar or poor charger. Obviously their not reading reviews. It’s expensive to purchase Apple products, but to repeatedly purchase chargers is obsurd. Apple— are you listening to these numerous complaints? Or do you simply not care?

Surprisingly great luck with this cord

I've had this cord for around three and a half years. It looks like it's been to war with how the soft plastic is fraying on the outside and how bent out of shape it is. The hard plastic on the lightning plug part that goes into the phone is cracked. I've had to cut some of the soft plastic down and add a heat shrink wrap around the lightning plug portion. Despite all this, it still charges my phone just fine. All of the wiring is still intact. I'm finally looking for a replacement because I think it might become somewhat of a fire hazard.

    Horrible quality of charging cable

Apple, I can’t beleive that I have gone thru 6 charging cable in 3 years. I know this must be profitable for Apple but in the long run it will hurt.
At first I thought it may have Been me, but after paying close attention and caring dearly when using it, I came to realize that the poor quality of the cable was the actual cause for it to brake and put users at danger of electrocution or fire to your home of office. I guess Apple put profit over safety when it comes to these cables.

Its like buying a product from China

The quality of this product its horrible, not even 7 months from the date of purchase and i have been forced to buy a new one because it suddenly stopped working. Apple does not care about the quality but about how much you spend at the store. would never recommend this product.

good luck if you buying it!! are

Four Years Strong, Even With Some Bad Cable Care

I’ve had my 2m Lightening cable foor four years now, since I got my iPad Air back in 2013. Throughout that time the cable has performed flawlessly despite my abuse to it. The length was great, much more convient than the included 1m cable that came with my iPad. It’s a thicker cable than the standard 1m cables as well.

A word on cable maintenace, I made the mistake of travelling with it without removing the USB end from the wall adapter when packing the cable away. This ended up bending the USB end over time and now that the casing of the cable is splitting it’s time to replace. I will definitely not be doing this with my replacment cable.

    Overall, highly recommend this cable.

DOES NOT LAST, DO NOT BUY

If I could rate this negative stars I would. The cords for Apple products are by far the worst I've ever seen. All of my cords, not just this model, all do the same thing...BREAK. The cords need to be made more durable to bend and move. If they are going to keep performing like subpar products then their price should reflect that. The fact that I have to continually tape my cords with electrical tape is both aesthetically hideous and pathetic on apples part. If this was their first rodeo on making cords I would understand, but it's not...If I am expected to pay $29 for a new cord I would expect it to last at least a year, heck even longer than that! Please either lower your prices or make a new cord.

One star because that’s the lowest I can go

I have bought four of these cables @ £29 each within six months, I go to my local pound shop, for cables, I am still on my first cable from the pound shop 9 months later, so I wouldn’t waste my money on a cable that cost me £29 over one that costs me £1

Apple cares and they got it right

I find it hard to believe people hate the cable and think going beyond that has anything to do with these fantastic cables. With that said these cables are amazing no matter how I handled them. They last as long as third party cables except mine still work like a charm. As of now after a couple of months of using them the first time, the outer later may stretch a bit, but that's the most they have ever changed for me problem wise which shows the heart and effort that went into this.

    Waste of money!!!

After years of buying knock offs that only worked for a little while before the Apple product wouldn't accept it, I decided I'd spend the money to have all my family's chargers be authentic. Within months, we started having the ends of the cord breaking off inside the phones. We knew the cords would eventually bend too much and be ruined, but I was so ticked off at Apple's lack of quality for so much money!!! I've wanted to call Apple to ask what's up, but I can see with other reviews that it won't do any more good than this bad review. And, in the years of owning iPhones that I kept in perfect condition, I've had to replace my 6+ twice!! Now, I'm thinking I'll give Samsung a chance.

    0 stars if I could

Why must I keep buying your crappily made cables? Oh that's right, because you can make the hardware to not recognize a non-apple brand charging cord but you can't figure out how to keep the cord from falling apart after normal use. And here I thought you guys were geniuses. My bad.

Apple! Why aren’t you listening to us??

Dear Apple, we the customers have been begging you guys to get better charging cables for years now! We constantly have to buy your $30 chargers over and over and over again. All we ask for is a longer lasting cable yet we are presented with facial recognition to unlock the newest iPhone. If our phones can be smart enough to unlock by scanning our face why can’t the cables last more than 3 months. If our phones are strong enough to stand up to being taken in the water why can’t our cables last for more than 3 months. Samsung cables last forever and when they do break after being used for years they are a lot cheaper to replace. If we are paying a $1000 for our phones why are the charger built like we are only paying $1 for them. It’s hard to sell the best phone and have the worst cables.
    Signed a begging loyal customer.
