    Not worth it

This is a big waste of money. Would not work on my car stereo. When put into a docking station it will play music through but will not charge. So its cheaper to buy a 3.5mm cable to play your music

Not compatible with all 30-pin cables

I bought one of these to connect to an iPad dock-to-VGA cable. Since that cable works with iPad 1, 2, 3, my assumption is that it would work with iPad 4. Of course, Apple doesn't tell you which cables it does not work with. This is one of those cables. $35 down the drain on an adaptor that is compatible with the iPad4 but not other iPad accessories.

    Great, but maybe not.

Its really does what its meant to do well.

With my lightning-built device plugged into this converter and then into my dock stereo, it plays out in a quality which i can't complain about.

The only problem is, as you can imagine, with the length of the converter plus the increased length of the new device, a weight on the tilt is put on the stereo dock's head and the device.

I ended up putting balled up pieces of tissue between the back of the device and the grove of the dock to have lighter slant lest damage is done with prolonged duration of stress damages either systems.

And btw, i am referring to my latest gen iPod, which is real light. I cant imagine feeling alright with an iPhone 5 being stress out like this.

    Works perfectly.

Bought this item when I purchased my new iPhone 5. Works great with my XtremeMac InCharge Duo docking station, and doesn't affect the charging of my iPad on the same dock at the same time, which is exactly what I bought it for. Very happy.

Does not work with Camera Connection Kit

Does not work on my Camera Connection Kit when connected to my iPod Touch 5 - contrary to what some have indicated in the web or in this reviews.

Also, using this usually means you need to take off the protective cases most people use. Suggest you consider the cable version if your purpose is to dock it to your speakers/stereo so as to avoid the unusual height and the weight is not carried by the connector.

    Dont Buy

Although this product works well if your iphone does not have a case, it is useless if you want to use it with your iphone case on (which means virtually everyine will not be able to use it). I can't understand why Apple made this useless product without thinking of that. You risk your iphone getting damaged whenever you try to use this because you have to take it out of the case.

An alternative product is the one with the cable. That one is priced way high but at least it works. Not sure if there are third party alternatives out there. Very disappointed with Apple. Can I return this product? i wonder..

Bad Product for any iPhone 5 Cases

Only 1% of iPhone 5 Cases can use this adapter. It's very bad product. It's very expensive.

If you want to use with any iPhone 5 Cases. You must buy Lightning to 30-pin cable type. It's very very expensive than adapter.

    Works Great

I bought this thinking that it would be chunky and not be able to work when I have a case on my iPhone. But it fits my phone perfectly with the case on. The people that are complaining about it must have very chunky cases if they adapter is not working. It was definitely worth buying as now I can use my iPhone on all of my old docks.

    poor design for music output

Doesnt work in my 2012 Mercedes, my Yamaha DAB, my Onkyo docking port or my Ruark DAB - so that is every device I have - £25 for a power converter and I purchased 2 before I found out...

Should be shipped with new products to maintain compatibility

Most unhappy that if Apple change connector on their products and do not ship free adapter so their existing customers that have Apple accessories are prevented from using them!!

    Connected to my A5

Was given new Ipod touch 5th Generation for Christmas. I wanted to get all my music into one place and listen in my car.

Have an Audi A5 2010 model and unfortunately I couldnt connect with the audi supplied leads.
Purchased this 30 pin to lighting and it works really well. All the tracks and information are visible on the central in car screen and I can control the ipod from the dashboard.

    Well worth the money.

    Many bones to pick...

First off, the pin is too short to work with devices with cases and to me it's kind of obvious that a huge majority of Apple device owners have cases on their devices. But what bothers me more is the price. I just simply want to be able to use my dock like I was able to before you went and changed the connection. But no, I have to fork out $35 for a tiny adapter that from what I've read from some reviews doesn't work on all docking stations and have to continue to remove the cover from my device every time I wish to dock it. It would have been a lot more simple to have the lightning connector come in the box with the device you have purchased.

This should be bundled with the iPhone 5

With the cost of the iPhone 5 being what it is, this adapter should come bundled with it, simple as that. There have been so many accessories developed to fit the old 30-pin connector over the years and most of us have at least one. For Apple to charge $35 for this thing is an insult to it's customers, who have already shown their loyalty by buying Apple products in the past that use the old connector type! How about showing some loyalty yourselves Apple. $35? Really? Give us a break!

    Lightning to 30-pin Adapter

I got this from the Apple store on Oxford as I previously had an iPod and I wanted to be able to use my iPhone 5 to connect using my iTrip, my Bose system and to charge it with my existing car charger - and it does all of the above!!!! Most thrilled I can still use my Bose docking station with my iPhone 5 and the staff at the store were really helpful - it's secure, doesn't wobble and I am very happy. I am also able to use it with the phone still in its protective case

    Does the Job.

Works perfectly and is the only way to connect to the old ipod docks.

    So versatile

    Very cool product.
Bought one of these a while ago and I use it everywhere. Instead of lugging your charger with you to friends houses, you can use this along with their iPhone 4 charger to charge if need be.

Connects up to the existing car setup, which originally was for the iPhone 4. Works perfectly. I have been reading the reviews on the cases and I have a slim belkin case and have had no dramas connecting it up to that with the case being in the way.

    Charges BUT NOTHING ELSE!!!

This adapter is totally useless. I brought it because apple told me that it would support audio and allow me to continue using my previous docking station, however, I found that when connecting my ipod 5th generation to my ipig docking station the only thing it would do was charge my ipod. Therefore, audio is not compatible and the adapter is totally useless. Also, the connector is very weak and flimsy, i did not trust it enough take my hand from behind my ipod for fear of it falling off. Pointless product!

Does not work with B&W Zeppelin mini

I bought this, so I could continue using my Zeppelin mini iPhone dock. It does not however work like it says. It charges the iPhone, but the audio doesn't go through the adaptor. It just plays through the iPhone speakers. Really a shame, since my pretty expensive dock is under 1 year old.
