This thing is awful, It works for about a month, then with no visable damage, it just stops! What the heck Apple!

    Hot garbage

I've bought knock off electronics from swap meets and flea markets that work better and more consistently than this lump of junk. The only good thing about it is that it feeds my daily gambling needs betting on how it's going to disappoint me that day.

I have bought nearly every apple product on the market and was trying to play my iPad on the tv in my daughters room to save having to buy another Apple TV, it just doesn't work, one minute it's working a minute down the line no signal, now trying to obtain a refund or replacement

    Quit working

Only worked good for about 3 1/2 months now it takes forever to get it to work and I can't touch or move my phone. I have never had an apple product with this terrible of quality. For $50 should definitely last longer especially not used much and always put up when not in use. Would not recommend wasting your money.

    Perfect for my use

I bought this simply to be able to mirror my iPad screen onto a large tv. I rent films from iTunes onto my iPad and iPhone. Watching a film on an iPhone is less than ideal so this cable allows me to watch films (or my photos and videos) on a large screen. For that purpose this cable is perfect.

Outrageously expensive, worked OK, but now cuts out if you move it

Very lazy design, £40 is way too expensive for this. Why did Apple not mould the Lightning connector into the other end of the block so as to give a strong and rigid design. Most HDMI cables are heavy so inevitably the short stiff piece of cable that connects to the Lightning plug will be under bending loads however careful you are, and hence they fail early. Mine has lasted about 6 months and now cuts out if you so much as touch it - as have many other peoples if you read all the negative reviews. It actually worked very well before it started to break which is all the more frustrating. Shame on you Apple, selling expensive, poorly designed and badly made rubbish as accessories for your otherwise excellent kit. And there is no alternative source available as you have a monopoly. You should and can be so much better than this.

    Bad product

It worked for about a week then just quit working. I thought it was my lighting cord or my hdmi so I went and got new ones. But nope this 50$ cable crapped out on me in a week. I bought it to use with my radio in my car and it just dose not hold up well at all I do not recommend this product. Much cheaper and more effective to buy a knock off

Don't buy this lol. 40 quid and it just stopped working after a day. On top of that, while it did work, half the apps aren't supported anyway. Apple need to just swallow their pride and give the consumer what they want, FLEXIBILITY. A smart company would allow more experienced 3rd party cable companies to produce this kind of product rather than keeping exclusivity just to charge EXTORTIONATE prices for something that costs 20p to make, and doesn't even work. Poor form apple. poor form.

Poor quality, not durable, ridiculously overpriced

Failed within just a couple of months of purchase. Drops connection, low volume, noisy, and not full HD. For the price I expected far better. Buying another because I apparently have no choice. BOO. Fail. Epic fail.

    Weak product

I used this adapter for months on my iPad Air and no problems only occasional screen freeze. Just unplug and reconnect most times to resolve. Now with no change the adapter does not work for my iPad Air. But it stil works for my iPhone 6 Plus only more screen freezing here. Very disappointed in this product and the support is non-existent it seems. Nothing at all changed on my iPad Air, not even a update recently. I do all the updates when they are released.

    Very short life span

I bought this MAYBE 6 months ago. It seemed like exactly what I needed, at first. Fast forward to a short time later and we have to try it over and over again, sometimes 30x's just to get it to start going on the tv. I'm very disappointed

    Worked for 4 months

Disappointed in the high price and short life span. I thought Apple would at least insure high quality. Maybe the fact that it dosn't work after the IOS 9.3.2 upgrade is the issue. This has me rethinking any future Apple purchases.

    Not 1080p

Bought one yesterday. Used it to connect my iPad Pro 9.7 to a Samsung TV. I see the iPad screen on TV but it's not 1080p or sharp enough to enjoy. Waste of time and money.

    What's the point?

This gave me issues right out of the box for my iPad Pro 9.7. "this view is not supported" is the message I get when I try to catch up on my favorites shows on abc go app. I had the older version of this for my iPad 3 and it worked great with everything. Not impress with the function nor the price. I will de retuning this for sure. But, now what are we supposed to do? Is there any option out there that works to just duplicate exactly what's on your screen to a TV?? I would give 0 stars if I could.

Doesn't work well at all... Ugly kludge.

I bought several items of equipment to run a stand showing off iPad apps at a conference.., Monitors, AV brackets, gooseneck stands, HDMI cables etc.

The critical link was lighting AV adapters connecting iPads the delegates play with, to nice HD monitors on the booth wall. Both adapters gave horrible results on big screens. They showed compression artefacts and a generally nasty image. There is absolutely no way the output is 1080!

I don't quite know how Apple has managed it, but it takes many ££££ and turns a lovely crisp retina image into something truly ugly. I switched one over to my old iPad 2 with a 30 pin adapter and got a better image!

Like many other reviewers I paid full whack for this connector, and it just stopped working - annoyingly when the warranty period had expired. Suprisingly shoddy for a company like Apple. Probably better to get an Apple TV.

    Not good

Quite unexpected for an Apple product. I bought it to use with and iPadAir2 and it worked for about 10 seconds.
Though disappointed, I tried it with my iPod Touch and at home with an HDMI connected to a Vizio TV it worked, but come presentation time using an HDMI projector even the iPod Touch failed to display the signal.

My suspicion is that the product is at the bleeding edge of specifications and thus highly unpredictable as to whether it will work with other devices.

The best news is Apple / FedEx makes it easy to return. ;)

    Expensive yet Doesn't Last

I loved having this adapter for travel and home use. Occassionally, after the first few weeks, we would have to unplug the connector then plug it back in to reset the tv connection. Not a big deal since electronic problems happen and are easily fixed this way. I bought this in mid-January and it lasted until this past Monday, March 7th in the middle of a movie. I have $4 non-brand charging cables at Fry's that have lasted through years of wear and tear. I certainly expect an expensive item like this with Apple's branding to last more than a few months. We really only need it to watch one network and for the low-tech ease of use, otherwise we hook up with my Windows laptop which rarely needs to reconnect and displays a better picture. I have had a great relationship with resolving other ipad issues and, really, just expected a better quality item.
