    Worst most frustrating product ever

    Apple, I love your devices, I do…but this is a disgustingly poor product. I thought it was just me who had gone through multiple cables for some reason but no, looks like this is the same for everyone. My cable has broken several times now, and when you feel a broken one they feel really hot which must be unsafe. I was about to buy ANOTHER one of these stupid things (though it sticks in my craw to reward Apple for bad behaviour) when I read a review that said use a 30 pin to lightning adaptor instead. I had one of those luckily and now i can finally charge my phone again. So thanks v much to whoever gave that piece of advice, you've just saved me £15 x infinity. I do not intend to ever get another iPhone again because of this rubbish disappointing charger. So, for the sake of your remaining customers Apple, if you care about anything except money, sort this out.

    PS it won't even let you rate the product unless you give it 1 star. I'm amazed that it is averaging 2 tbh...

    Mine broke too

    I brought my 0.5 lightning cable from an apple store, five months later, its broken. :(

    Shockingly unreliable

    I had already gone through 2 cables now, and the most recent cable I only used for less than 2 weeks and it is already not working properly. It charges when the cable is oriented in certain angles (only works sometimes), and I'm worried the constant switching from charging to discharging will ruin my phone's battery. When charging, my phone also detects the cable as 'incompatible'. Bought this from Apple store in UK but I'm away on holiday now, hopefully it is covered by warranty by the time I get back to UK. Truly dissapointing.

    6 months and gone

    I've got mine with the iPhone and now it rips itself open on both ends. It's so disappointing to learn that Apple gives this under-standard product along with my phone ;(

    Very bad quality for the price

    Only had the cable for a short period and has already started to fall apart - similar to many of the other reviews on here. I'm surprised apple haven't updated the cable design and offered an exchange program. You don't expect such bad quality from apple.

    This is beyond a joke get it sorted now Apple!

    I thought it was me not looking after them but after reading over 100 reviews I realised it you Apple. I mean I've had my iPad for 2-3 years now and my original charger for that is still working brilliantly. However, I only got my iPhone 5S for Christmas that has just gone past (5months ago) and I'm already looking for another charger. My 7th one! This is beyond a joke now Apple, get it sorted!

    Very very poor quality

    These cables are the only thing I've ever bought from Apple that are not fit for purpose - fragile, cable cracks around the plugs, and then doesn't work - total ripoff and an embarrassment to anyone who likes their phone.

    Rubbish

    Had to changed my iphone 5 charger about 7 times so angry right, was always a BIG fan of Apple since the beginning never had an issue with previous charger. But the 5 are so rubbish. I do look after my stuff properly. Although the charger is under guarantee for a year. Still need an appointment and buy ticket to get there. What are suppose to do meanwhile. Is not worth it. So fed up, frustrated :(

    Stopped working after two months

    I am really unsatisfied with this cable. It stopped working just two months after i got it with my iPhone 5s, and i haven't done anything but charging my phone with it. I think the price are way to high and really unreasonable, when the cable is so bad quality.

    Really bad!!

    I've had my iPhone 5c for maybe 3 months now and the usb connecting cable for my charger has completely stopped working.

    The end has just bent out of shape completely and overall the cable just seems to be of terrible quality when compared to the old apple cable types.

    So currently I'm left with no charger.
    I went to see how much a replacement would be and Its just ridiculous; £15 for an apple brand replacement for it.
    Really?? £15 for one cable?? That's so unreasonable when honestly the cables are really poor.

    USB cable for mini ipad and iPhone 5s

    I recently purchased a mini ipad and one of the iPhone 5s from apple store.during 3 month the usb cable is not working properly for both, when iam charging devices power is connecting and disconnecting . Very poor quality by apple at this product. The cable is also expensive to buy. In Total disappointing

    chargers are terrible, break very easily! I am regretting purchasing my Iphone 5C because of the problems i've had with chargers!

    Lifetime of 1 year

    I love my iphone 5 but after having it one year my charging cable has broken. I would expect the cable to last as long as the phone and the amazon cable seems to be much more sturdy.

    Junk

    So Apple decides to have an update of iOs that makes sure you cannot use "Inferior products" (cheaper cables)...yet, spending $25 on this "superior product"...it breaks 4 months later, not even a gradual break. Just straight up decides to not work. So I'm left without a phone until I can buy another junky cable that'll just break on me again....giving Apple more money than they deserve.
    Really wishing I did not venture down the Apple path.

    Extremely Poor.

    Whether or not there is a year guarantee, why is the cable breaking so often in the first place?! Personally, i always take out the cable properly and it still breaks. For some, simply taking the product back and forth is a challenge in itself as there isn't a store close by. The price should be lowered and quality of product should improve ASAP.

    WORST PRODUCT EVER!!!

    Okay, so I bought a lightning cable for my iphone 5 2 months ago, and it stopped working yesterday. Today I went to the apple store to buy another lightning cable. Got back home and plugged my iphone 5 in. All fine, until it got to around 80% charger and the lightning cable BROKE ON THE FIRST DAY!!! Are you kiddin me Apple?! This is my 3rd lightning to USB Cable as of 2014! Ridiculous!

    argh!

    This is the second charger cord I have gone through for my iPad. The 1st came with the iPad and was broken not because of Apple but because my cat chewed it but the second cord I purchased 4 months ago has frayed and snapped all on it's own. Not impressed with how flimsy they are but don't have another option but to buy another cord

    Poor products from such a big company

    I have had my iphone 5 for just over a year and my lightning USB cable that came with it has stopped working. I am now left without a phone until I get a new one delivered.

    As with previous reviews my cable for my very old ipod and my iphone 4 are still in perfect working order after several years. Not only were we forced to buy new adapters due to the new lightning dock but now they last for a ridiculously short period and are forced to pay out for new ones or go without the phone we have shelled out so much for.

    Poor by Apple, I will not be buying any apple products until they stop ripping us off. Other consumers are fast catching up.
