    Fabulous

    Fabulous piece of kit.
Replace my BT Hub 3 with this. The set up was a doddle. Two pieces of information Network name, password and the job was done.

Couldn't believe it, had to check to see if security was set up and it was.

I run a iMac and three iPads and a HP printer all wireless on BT infinity 1 and my speed is 30 down and 6 up and solid.

    Couldn't be more happier.

    Shaun

    Seriously amazing!

I've been messing about with various routers over the years, I've always had problems with one thing and another so I decided to take the plunge and treat myself to an Airport Extreme, OMG after 10 seconds setup it works like a dream, blisteringly fast, I should of moved over to apple routers years ago. Yes they are a little expensive, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for! I would highly recommend anyone to purchase this, even the complete novice would have this up and running in seconds! As always with Apple products, it simply works!

At least 2x better than new D-Link 865L

Based on internet reviews i got a D-Link DIR 865L due to its top review here www.altomdata.dk/d-link-dir-865l
The D-Link didn't cover my house good enough so I bought the new AirPort Extreme.
The AirPort feels like running double speed and the coverage is full all over the house.
Further benefits in the AirPort is that the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz bands are joined into one SSID making network sharing a lot easier than the D-Link as it runs two SSIDs one for each band.
Also the AirPort allows my VPN tunnel I couldn't get to work via D-Link.
The AirPort is allowed in the living room due to nice design and not stored away like the D-Link so that a simple way to improve network quality

Quick and Easy Setup - Piece O'Cake

I did a fair amount of research before taking the plunge and purchasing this great piece of kit. I've been suffering for sometime with my iMac dropping of my wireless network, we are a house of iPhones, iPads, windows laptops and gaming platforms. I was getting fed up of playing second fiddle to my sons Xbox!!!

Simply unboxed the AirPort Extreme, plugged it into the existing super fast fibre optic broadband router, and literally 3 minutes later I was up and running with superb speed and connectivity......HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

    AirPort Extreme? Disappointed...

Bought the new Apple AirPort Extreme yesterday. I bought this device because the reviews were excellent, thought that the majority of people liked the new router. The previous router installed was Linksys EA 4500 which to this point has worked great. Reason to change was to experience the "ac" and really enjoy the longer coverage and faster speed. I installed the new router but was only able to connect 2 devices (iPad 2 and iPhone 5S), the remaining devices (iPhone, Mac mini etc...) never connected to the router.

    Amazing

I have been messing about with wifi and trying to setup repeaters in my house with no success. Bought 2 AirPort Extremes - plugged one in - 5 mins later working, plugged the second one it, 2 minutes later its a repeater and wifi sorted - and blindingly fast. Now multiple AppleTVs working fine, phones, laptops etc. all around the house..

    Gorgeous design, incredible performance

What can I say? - The AirPort looks incredible, and performs fantastically to match. Though N-wireless is not much of an upgrade from G underwhelming actually, (at least, in my case) the real magic happens when you run the AC protocol. My MacBook Air 2013 is always connected, with a robust connection and speeds while streaming content to my Apple TV.
My only concern with the AirPort is that it's beautiful design is slightly scared by my ISP modem tethered to it.

    Fast and simple

Set up in seconds and seriously fast.
I'd recommend this to anyone with multiple devices mac/pc/ps3/xbox/samsung etc
Very fast and handles multiple connections and multiple wireless formats effortlessly.
    Best router I have used.

3X faster than previous AirPort Extreme

Unpacked, installed in about 5 minutes.

Connected to an iMac in the opposite corner of my house to where the new AirPort Extreme is located, ran a speedtest - the internet is more than 3x faster than it was with the previous version AirPort Extreme 10mins before. Sensational!!

Also - 100% eliminated "dead" spots in my house... AWESOME!!

    Superfast!!

I purchased this to go with two new laptops we'd bought a new 13" retina and a 13" top spec Air. We have been using the BT HomeHub 3 but after having various problems with it, particularly with Airplay, I decided to swap it for an Airport extreme.

What can I say, I'm so impressed with it, so easy to set up, so easy to manage and all achievable from an iOS device or a mac. What I really wasn't expecting was such a bump in my broadband speed, on the BT HH3 I was averaging about 20-30mbps on BT's infinity service, using the Airport it shot straight up to over 70mbps. I had read this had happened with other users of the AIrport extreme on BT but didn't know how much of an issue my HH3 router was until I replaced it.

One small issue I did have was with my Xbox Live. It seems to default to Moderate NAT settings but a few Youtube videos soon showed me how to switch it to stay open.

Fabulous! It does exactly Apple claim

    Easy to install
    Blisteringly fast wifi.
I test my wifi speed a couple of times a week.
Download has increased from 15- 20 Mbps average to +/- 55Mbps.
I pay my Internet provider for 50mbps.
    It is truly amazing

    Apple Drops the ball.....

Very disappointed with my new airport extreme for the following reasons:

    1. Slower than previous model, I used to enjoy 95mbs plus internet speed on my previous router, I'm lucky to get 70mbs.

    2. Range is worse, marginal reception in areas that were once quite good.

    3. Aesthetics, Jonny was clearly on holidays when this was developed. All Apples desktops are silver and black, what were you thinking making this white? A miniature version of the new mac pro would have been more logical and aesthetically pleasing or silver.

    Works perfectly with BT Infinity

I had a BT Home hub 3 which has useless WIFI connectivity. I took the plunge with this new airport extreme although I was a little concerned as to how well it would work with the BT modem. Connecting and configuring the airport extreme with the BT modem was disconcertingly simple and quick but it works great. I'm getting 60mbit speeds vie ethernet and using a phone over wifi am getting 45mbit. Well worth the money despite not having anthing that works with woreless ac yet.

    Fantastic little piece of tech

Bought to replace an aging 2nd generation time capsule. I was immediately impressed by the ease of set up via my ipad mini and the high through output from the wireless router - I have a NBN 100/40 internet connection and are able to obtain between 85 to 95 % of maximum speed on a consistent basis despite having 10+ other wireless routers within sensing proximity at anyone time. Additionally the much stronger radio signal allows the router signal to be maximised in more places in the apartment.

    Another quality Apple product :).

    Much better range and bandwidth

Installed last night and immediately saw a massive improvement in signal strength and bandwidth at the far ends of my house (I have a very long house). Haven't got any 802.11ac devices yet but it is still an excellent improvement on all my 802.11n ones.

    Delighted so far

Ordered immediately after WWDC 2013 to replace an venerable Linksys WRT54G whose fading antenna power was failing.

Delighted so far, setup was straightforward, done in less than 10 minutes from opening the box. Gigabit ethernet is delivering the full bandwidth from my cable modem for the first time and the wireless coverage is uniformly excellent in my thick walled and three storey Victorian terrace, noticeably quicker for my n capable devices. I don't have any ac devices yet to test those even higher speeds.

Wireless sharing of a Kodak printer also working as hoped.

Happy to recommend - nice job Apple.

    Fantastic

Picked up the first one in Manchester Arndale this morning, I'd been waiting for this 802.11ac upgrade for a while.
Excellent range, superb speeds, quick and easy set up, looks great.
Supports local loopback feature which I really needed, the old standard package router I used to use has nothing on this new AirPort Extreme.
Looking forward to using 802.11ac devices with it.
Highly recommended, overall a great buy.
