    Good product

Charge is great but the actual material of the case is terrible. The rubber peals and if you drop it on the floor by accident it will for sure rip. Love this case but after some wear and tear it isn't looking it's best.

    Terrible in all aspects

    - Design: ugly bump on the back of the phone
    - Durability: part of case shred of at first day
    - Usability: cannot choose when to use battery, defeating the purpose of a backup battery
    - Function: much fewer battery capacity than usual for battery cases, charges slower than other batteries and sometimes charges even slower than battery is drained using the phone
    - Reliability: terrible, sometimes phone battery empty, but case battery 90%

I used to love apple, but this product and the Apple Watch are a disaster. Wish someone like Steve Jobs was there to enforce a sanity check on products.

Good, but needs to be cheaper.

First, lets get this out of the way. You get kind of used to the hump/backpack/iBaby bump/Alien baby bump after the first, maybe, 5 minutes? It takes away bulk from the rest of the case, allows the top to flex so the case stays in one piece while removing/putting the case on, and makes it more comfortable in the hand overall. Plus when you put it on a table the battery piece is just thin enough to give your iPhone a "floating" illusion as well as make the case seem thinner than it is.

Other benefits of course include the fact this case uses a lightning port instead of micro-USB which is great. You can see the exact percentage of the case's battery life in the notification center of the phone. Some people don't like the fact that you can't turn the case on or off at will, to which I say is a frivolous complaint. Reason being is that whether you use the phone's battery or case battery, its still taking away from the same total battery life. In my opinion, not having to worry about wondering if the case is switched on or off is just one less thing to worry about period. And there are apparently extra cellular bands in the case to strengthen call reception instead of letting the case block some of that reception from the iPhone. So you do get a lot of decent unique features here that you wouldn't get on other third party cases.

That being said, this case still costs 100 big ones. For that 100 bucks, you get a case that doesn't even give you a full iPhone charge if the iPhone was being charged from 0%. Apple should've made the battery bigger around the bottom to give it that extra juice, while at the same time letting it keep the flexing top feature. The silicone material too I'm not a fan of. After a couple weeks this thing became a greasy linty mess. And I wash my hands QUITE often thank you very much. The corners start to wear away easily too from being in jeans a lot. The charcoal gray color looks really cheap and unattractive once the case gets to that condition. Also, good luck trying to use non-Earpod headphones on this case, because most won't fit the case's extended cutout for the headphone jack.

So honestly its a hit or miss type of product. Apple definitely could've done more with the overall look and design of the case, as well as give it more juice to justify that ridiculously high price tag. But at the end of the day you get a pretty decent product that will still extend your battery life enough where you never have to worry much about the phone dying, unless you're awake for days at a time.

    Not a very durable product

The case offers god phone protection when used with a tempered glass shield but it takes a long time to charge and really needs to be charged separately. It also needs to be charged from an iPad charger or it will take forever.
The silicone covering peels off from just pocket use. I am VERY disappointed in the value for money. At $99 I think I have a right to expect that it will last longer than a few months before it looks like a thrift shop special.

My advice is get your accessories from aftermarket suppliers. They have to make a good product to stay in business.

    Charging good- material poor quality

I have this in white. At first it was beautiful. I bought this case in April and by June the material along the side had started to tear off. It looks like an animal has taken bites out of it. It's rather unpleasant looking. It's disappointing that a $99 case would be having so much wear and tear after only a few months. The charging still works very well but the silicone material should be a lot more resistant at this price point. I never had issues like this with other charging cases.

    Headphone Jack Compatibility

If you are using a headphone with an L-shaped jack (for example, Bose) than you have to switch to a different brand with a straight jack (like Beats) or a bluetooth headphone.

    More Selection

This case would be better if it was also offered for the iPhone 6/6s Plus. Even though the larger phones have larger battery and last longer a charging case would still be helpful to many iPhone users.

    Very Good Charger Case

Very good product! Used it on whilst on a road trip, it helped my charge last for about 2 days straight! Wish it had an on/off switch though.

    Functional, though lacking in aesthetics

I love the case. I see negative reviews that it stopped charging. I've had this happen once. I forced the phone to reset, and then it charged again. I can't explain it, but I recommend doing this. Since then, the battery has been fine. Same charging outlet as phone as nice, and no need for earbuds dongle is nice too.

Overall, this is currently my favorite, but the hunchback style does leave a bit to be desired. And I wish the charge lasted longer while the phone is awake.

Apple Battery dead for the secodn time in 6 months, now dead for good

Stopped charging, second time it happens in six months, but last time it starting charging again after a few days. Now at the 6 month mark is dead for good. Not worth the $110 I paid for it.

    Great at first

I was excited about the Apple Smart Battery Case as it used the apple charging cord whereas my Mophie case needs a micro SD cord. Additionally the integration with the iPhone for the charge level on the battery was nice.
However, my excitement was short lived. The material the case is made out of is "sticky" and it clings to pockets. The phone would get stuck to the material in my pocket and eventually caused my iPhone to become bent. This was disappointing as I had the leather case and it did not stick to my pocket. Additionally, my mophie case is made of hard plastic, this also allowed the phone to slide easily within my pockets and prevented it from binding and bending.

It's too late for my phone, but hopefully not for yours. I would not recommend using the Smart Battery case if you put your phone in your pocket.
Get something that slides more easily.

I thought Apple was better than this.

First of all--I've been an Apple customer for years purchasing several iPhones, the original iPod, and a couple of iPads thrown in for good measure. First I couldn't believe that when I upgraded to the iPhone 6S I would have battery problems. I thought they were solved way back when I was using my iPhone 4s. But I need a phone after 6pm at night so I invested the extra $99 for the iPhone 6S Smart Battery Case. I've had it about a week after receiving the Battery and I think that everything is honkey-dorey now. That is until I try to use my cord from the car phone to the Apple phone. The cord no longer fits the phone with the battery attached. I literally couldn't believe it. I checked the box again to see if there was an adapter in it to handle the cord. No luck. SO-I called Apple. I learned that the ear buds supplied by Apple fit it but if I want to listen to my iPhone music in the car I'd have to go to a local merchant and purchase an adapter. Purchase an ADAPTER? I thought Apple was better that this and if I were them I'd suggest they better start supplying the adapter with the battery when purchased. This snafu may be enough to have me seek my cell phones somewhere else next time I upgrade. So sorry Apple.

    Great product

I was tempted not to get this case because of the design. But I am very happy with it. It fits comfortably in my hand and is not to bulky. The case helps keep my phone charged through the day. As I am writing this it is 3:43pm and the battery on the case is barely at 46%. Unlike other battery cases this is a high quality silicon, not plastic. As well as you do not have to change chargers. So you can keep using your lightning cable.

    Most of the way there

    This case is pretty good.
It does exactly what you want - pretty much doubles the life of your iphone on the move.
It has some unexpected benefits - much nicer to hold than the (slippery) standard iPhone and the ios integration is handy.
It has a few issues - the corners of mine got rub damage pretty quickly and it's hardly what you'd call beautiful. Headphones are an issue. I now need an ugly jack extender for my Dr.Dre's when not using bluetooth.

After 6 months mine started to go wrong, most likely the pass-through lightning jack. However replacement was immediate and no hassle so I have no complaint.

Great for Battery Life, but A Few Downsides

It's a good product. If you're the kind of person who is on the go and can't be bothered with external batteries, this case will definitely do the trick.
You put the case on your phone and the phone uses the battery from the case before it uses the actual phone battery. I use my phone on high brightness quite frequently starting at 8am, and the case battery will die at about 7pm, at which point my phone battery will start being used.
So essentially it is at 100% for the whole workday, and then it starts to go down in the evening. My phone will not die before midnight. In terms of pure battery life, it's great.
    Downsides:
-Silicone case sticks to clothing making sliding in and out of pocket annoying
-Heavy; feels like carrying double the weight of an iPhone 6
-No on/off feature, which means your phone is always fully charged when the case is on. I worry that this is making my phone battery worse by overcharging. Time will tell...

    Was wonderful...

I have enjoyed the case for about 6 months. It is lighter than others. I have had a few different ones and by far this one was the best for the first 6 months. Lately I have been plugging it in at night and waking up with the phone charged and the battery pack not. Also a huge issue is that the rubber on the case it tearing all around the edges and the back of the phone. Hopefully the next version will last longer and be more durable.

    8 days

Worked well for 8 days.... Now it's a paperweight. Stopped taking a charge last night. I'm glad that it stopped working prior to the 14 days return policy.
