    It's a keeper!

I read alot of reviews and people not so happy with this case. It is very soft to the touch and not slippery at all. And I must admit, I usually buy mophie cases or lifeproof, but you have to use another cable to charge. I LOVE this case. I never run out of battery power all day long. It does hold onto some lint, but it's not a deal breaker for me. I have the white one and I couldn't be happier with it. It grips well, easy to install and remove, and I don't need any other accessories; the ear buds fit into the case from apple and same power cord to charge. The case does NOT get hot like the mophie case I previously had. One down side is it's expensive at $99 and you don't get the extra power cord with it. Other than that, no complaints.

    Awesome Case

Love this case - the weight is hard to get used to at first but it fits in your hand nicely. This case increases the battery life immensely; the only downside for me is that the case battery doesn't last as long as I had hoped!

    Weird Shape, Great Product

Admittedly, not Apple's prettiest product, but man is it functional. I've only had it for a day. But I'm impressed.

It doubles the weight of the iPhone 6s, but it feels great in your hands. The silicone is improved from the iPhone 6 (not 6s) silicone, with regards to feel. The microphone has not lost any clarity. I was skeptical at first, but after spending some time with the case, I think I will enjoy it for a long time.

    Absolutely Brilliant

It should come as no surprise that any product Apple releases nowadays is thoroughly thought through from A to Z. And this battery case is no exception. The design is very avant-Garde. The actual charge system is so easy you don't even think about it. It gives much more than the extra juice to go through a full day without ever worrying about the iPhone being charged through an outlet, those days are long gone. It feels fantastic in your hand. And is great protection for your phone. I now typically start my day with a full charge of my phone and use it heavily throughout the day for video and photo taking, listening to music, watching videos, social media, FaceTime etc and have about 50% of battery left from my iPhone at the end of the day.

Bottom line this product bought me peace of mind. And that's something you can't really put a price on.

    Great Case

Happy with the case, and the battery life. Solid a little heavy, but feels good in hand. Only draw back is that I can't use my Beats head phones with it.....the jack only will work with a straight aux. cord, so the earbuds work fine with it.

    Apple does it again!

I'm loving the case. It feels sleek and smooth which causes me to have better grip. The best thing is that it's an apple product. Quality and performance are staggering. I no longer have to charge my phone constantly, the case does that for me.

I will definitely get this case again for the iPhone 7.

I plug it in and it is charging: then i find in the morning it has stopped charging overnight; not sure why

    Smart Battery Case Review

I don't usually do reviews on products but there are few things that aren't really mention by other people who had reviewed the Smart Battery Case.

Firstly you can't charge the phone or case when they are combined together and when the phone is turn off. So if you are like me and like to turn off the phone and charge it overnight then this won't be possible with this case unless you either separate the phone from the case or leave it on over night.

Secondly I think that that the Smart Battery Case is not made of different consistency of silicone compared to the regular silicone case. I have a iPhone 6s Antique White silicone case and although it pick up a little dirt during day it generally isn't that bad nothing that can't be fixed by wiping it on your jeans or using your sleeves. The White Smart Battery Case on the other hand get really dirty very quickly and dust seem to be attracted to it like a magnet. What really ignoring is the fact it had actually pick up more dirt when I wipe it on my Jeans.

In the end I returned the Smart Battery Case and got a refund from the Apple Store. However I don't completely dislike the iPhone Battery Case and therefore I gave it 3 stars.

Let me begin by saying I am glad I bought this case before I read or saw all the bad reviews on YouTube. There were so many I might have steered clear of purchasing it.

    Now, on to my review…

I used to have a Galaxy and I bought an extended battery for it, so the hump thing was not a problem for me. To me, it is an expectation that I am going to have a bulge sticking out of my device when I get an extended battery. After all, it’s a bigger battery! That being said, I like where Apple put this battery. It is centered on the back freeing up the top and the bottom for a slim profile that works well in landscape mode. On my Galaxy the bulge was only at the bottom and it always bothered me when I watched videos.

I read on here people saying that their phones were overheating. I bought two of these cases, one for me (space grey) and one for the Mrs. (white). Neither of us have experience any overheating. My guess is those were defective units.

One word describes why this is hands down the best battery case on the market… INTEGRATION.

It works with a lightning cable which is a HUGE plus.

I charge my phone with an iPad brick and a cool under-reported feature is that it charges both the phone and the case at the same time. The fact that I don’t have to carry around an extra micro-USB cord is a huge plus for me and points to INTEGRATION!

I will address some of the negative criticisms that I feel are undeserved.

The lack of an on off switch. This case was clearly designed to become the primary battery. After it is completely depleted then the phone switches to it’s own internal battery. I cannot think of a scenario where I would prefer to burn through the iPhone’s battery first, then the case. You don’t need an on/off switch. My case seems to last much longer than the internal battery. I am a very heavy user and could not make it through one day without charging. Now I easily make it through the day and sometimes two. I have no idea how the case works, but it just does which points to a high level of INTEGRATION.

The charging LED being on the inside of the case.

Again, I see the reasoning behind this design. If your phone is out of the case you will need to know if it is 100% charged, but because of the INTEGRATION all you do is swipe down the screen and you can see the battery level of both the case and the phone. The software INTEGRATION for the battery level is a huge plus. There is absolutely no reason for any outside indicators.

I liked this case so much that I actually ordered one for everybody at my company using the 6 or 6S and I have not had one complaint (we are a small company and I ordered 4).

So if I had to sum up all the pros in one word it would be…you guessed it: INTEGRATION

The only con I can see is if you use wired headphones. Clearly it looks like most of the jacks out there on the market would not fit in the hole which is a shame. Clearly you can play music until the cows come home with this battery. I use Blue Tooth stereo speakers so this was a non-issue for me (although I can understand someone’s frustration with it if they had a high end pair of wired headphones). My headphone battery will die before my case even has a dent in it.

Something to consider though, given the rumor the the iPhone 7 isn’t going to have a headphone jack, I suspect there is going to be some headphone jack to lighting type adapters on the market within the next year or so that may fix this problem. I heard that there will even be 3rd party noise cancelling headphones that will be powered by the iPhone itself. If that turns out to be true, then this case would compliment the adapter.

I am planning to stick with my 6s Plus for a while and that decision is based primarily on this case and its INTEGRATION with my iPhone.

Silicon exterior is a poor choice

    - Extends the battery life incredibly. I no longer charge the phone several times a day.
    - Fits comfortably in your hand. It doesn't look sexy, but you won't notice it when holding the phone to your ear, or using the phone to txt.
    - Intuitive interface on the GUI lets you know how much charge the case has, and how much the phone battery has. Surprisingly, the case can't always charge the phone as fast as you can consume the battery. I've had the case show 90% charge, while the phone drains to 80%. This was only during INTENSE usage, and the case quickly catches up once you stop terrorizing the phone.

    - The silicon exterior is horrible. It feels grippy, like something sticky without being sticky. While this sounds like it would be a plus for not dropping it (and it is), it creates strange issues elsewhere. For starters, pulling this phone+case out of your pants pocket (or any pocket) is a nightmare. The silicon grips the inside of your pocket, and doesn't want to let go without pulling the entire pocket with it. The flip side of this is if you want to lean your phone against something. You'd think that sticky silicon would prevent it from sliding flat. Nope. The silicon takes on this slick property, and your phone will SLOWLY slide to horizontal. VERY annoying.
    - The headphone jack is now much deeper. A few other folks have noted that their 3rd party headphones no longer connect.
    - I have zero empirical data to back this up, but the case appears to impact the cell reception at certain times. If you position the phone in such a way that the battery is outward facing, and the phone is up against something large, I've noticed losing 2-3 bars of signal strength. Why would you put your phone in such a position I hear you asking...Simple, put your phone+case in your pocket with the screen against your body, and sit in your car. Tada! Instant signal degradation. Take the case off, same scenario, no signal degradation.

    Final Thoughts
I like the case for what it is supposed to do, give me more battery. I HATE the case in that I struggle to rip it out of my pocket when driving cause I get poor reception.

    Ugliest product in the lineup

It really does make the otherwise slim phone look bulky, almost like a star trek gadget from the 70ties. Also, cant plug in earphones, as the hole that goes through the case is too small. WTF!?

Easily the best charging case ever

I got this case in my stocking as part of a Christmas present and was instantly so excited. It's the best charging case I've ever used. I had a mophie for my iPhone 5/5S and loved it, but it was difficult to charge and it was bulky, but it did the job. It seems like Apple put a lot of thought into this when they made this case, because I have none of those issues now. I love how it charges with the lightning charger and I love how it feels. I was worried about the fact that there's no way to turn the case on or off, but now that I've been using it, I'm obsessed. You can swipe down and check the battery widget in the Notification Center to see how much battery is left on the phone and the case. I love the integration Apple has created between their accessories and devices. I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone.

    Great Design---Works as promised!

I am a long-time user of Mophie and, most recently, Anker charging products. Many of the "on-line expert reviews" have given this product a low rating. I must disagree--I think this product is fantastic and here are some of the reasons:

--The Mophie/Anker/etc products all use a MicroUSB cable for charging. Because I move my phone from the car, to the office to charging on planes, the MicroUSB begins to degrade until the point that the phone will only charge as long as it is in a certain position in relation to the pin. Candidly, the MicroUSB is derelict of pin/plug design. I have never been able to get more than 3 to 6 months out of any of thee products. Anker has replaced my device once--(TOP Rated according to some)---and, I said ENOUGH!

--The lighting pin works and connects solid and, most everyone with an apple will have a lightning plug these days--so, you can always find an apple user and borrow a cable. Otherwise, you are looking for an Android user to ask them if you can borrow their cable to charge your phone.

--The case is a simple one-piece design. I have dropped (yes it happens) the Anker and Mophie. The top-rated Anker case splits open in a fraction of a second at relatively low drops. Then the case and plastic pins get messed up, then, it starts falling apart. Same for the mophie two piece designs. This one piece has already met the floor and the case stayed on perfectly since, of course, it's a single piece design.

--The grip material is excellent. Much easier to hold onto than slick Anker or Mophie. Oh, and if you buy any of the colored Mophie's and drop, the color scratches off leaving you a black and gold or black and red mis match. No plastic painting here.

--The electronics are seamlessly interfaced into charging and you can read battery life of both the case and the phone in the pull down window (I forget what it is called).

--It's backed by Apple. Try returning your busted Mophie to Best Buy. I toss them in the trash can on they way into Best Buy to get another.

My only complaint is the way the charger works. It discharges the case battery to keep the phone at 100% during the day. So, you will need to remember that the case may be dead by the end of the day, even though your phone says 90%. I used to only turn on the charger of the batter case when my phone hit 20% or so. This battery does it's own thing--but, maybe Apple decided it is better to work the internal battery that way.

At $99, this is a small price to pay. And, if it lasts even a year, that will be great!

    Apple Brand

I've had many battery cases throughout the iPhones I've been through. Mophie and Lifeproof and all of them broke a week into using them. The stupid micro usb gets loose and breaks.

Now onto the Apple Smart Case! Since it's a lighting connector on bottom I like it much better. Nothing will break or pop out.
I like that I can see how much battery juice I have left in control center. I rather not have to turn my
Phone around and press a tiny button to see some blinking lights.

Without this extra battery my phone barely lasted 8 hours. That is me watching HD YouTube on LTE and playing clash of clans which takes up 56% of my battery. Now that I have the battery pack my phone lasted 8 hours and the battery pack still had 45% of charge left and main battery stayed at 100%!

Well done Apple! Wish you did this long time ago. Hope you have one planned for the iPhone 7! I'd gladly pay for another

    Works precisely like advertised!

I will admit that this case does make my once very slim and sleek phone bulky, but the case also makes it easier to grip and I do not find it clunky! I did see where someone mentioned that the battery on his phone started to be depleted before the case battery was. I want to say that is not how it works on my phone! The case battery will get 100% depleted before it will start using the charge on your phone. This case's battery is enough for me to make it from 5 am to midnight on it! I do not even touch the phone's battery! I should also mention that I used my Apple Watch with my phone so that may have something to do with the longevity of my battery!

You should hold one in your hand before you judge.

Visually, it's oddly pleasing in person. How you fingers rest on the phone when your using it in hand feels natural; the balance of the battery placement makes holding it one handed from the bottom and using just your thumb pleasant. With the mophie case I felt the phone more top-heavy and cumbersome . On the rare occasion you use the phone to make phone calls the space up top makes holding it comfortable for long periods. The killer features: iOS integration, single cable, lightning port provides all functions, EarPods work with no extension, and no buttons. The white material picks up way less pocket lint that I had initially feared. The added weight is an issue of course but in due time it's negligible. Battery life is equivalent or slightly better than the Juice Pack Air this replaced. Also note that unlike most other battery cases you can still sync and use the iPod interface in the car which is incredibly convenient.

Don't let the popular reviews form your opinion

    * Feels awesome. Just the right amount of grip but not too grippy.
    * The color is spot on for the white/silver iPhone.
    * Having the mic and speaker redirected to the front works very well.
    * I have never used a battery case that was one piece where the phone was this secure but still easy to remove.
    * Automatic charging/iOS integration.

    * Seems like it doubles the weight.
    * Wired headsets are more difficult. Even the OEM headset is in deep. You will probably put more stress on the cable removing it.

    Bottom line?
If you are like me and want a smaller size phone but wanted the battery life of the phone plus, then here is your answer. I can't comfortably type with the plus using one hand so this makes the phone just right. The ideal would be a iPhone 6S that is a bit fatter. Reviewers who compare this with a $35 dollar battery case on Amazon are fooling themselves. This is in another league in build quality.
