    Weird Shape, Great Product

Admittedly, not Apple's prettiest product, but man is it functional. I've only had it for a day. But I'm impressed.

It doubles the weight of the iPhone 6s, but it feels great in your hands. The silicone is improved from the iPhone 6 (not 6s) silicone, with regards to feel. The microphone has not lost any clarity. I was skeptical at first, but after spending some time with the case, I think I will enjoy it for a long time.

    Absolutely Brilliant

It should come as no surprise that any product Apple releases nowadays is thoroughly thought through from A to Z. And this battery case is no exception. The design is very avant-Garde. The actual charge system is so easy you don't even think about it. It gives much more than the extra juice to go through a full day without ever worrying about the iPhone being charged through an outlet, those days are long gone. It feels fantastic in your hand. And is great protection for your phone. I now typically start my day with a full charge of my phone and use it heavily throughout the day for video and photo taking, listening to music, watching videos, social media, FaceTime etc and have about 50% of battery left from my iPhone at the end of the day.

Bottom line this product bought me peace of mind. And that's something you can't really put a price on.

    Great Case

Happy with the case, and the battery life. Solid a little heavy, but feels good in hand. Only draw back is that I can't use my Beats head phones with it.....the jack only will work with a straight aux. cord, so the earbuds work fine with it.

    Liked it then became unreliable

    Loved this initially
    Looks stylish generates compliments
Charges faster than other battery cases I have had Unfortunately it has started to become slightly unreliable in overnight charging
I plug it in and it is charging: then i find in the morning it has stopped charging overnight; not sure why

    Smart Battery Case Review

I don't usually do reviews on products but there are few things that aren't really mention by other people who had reviewed the Smart Battery Case.

Firstly you can't charge the phone or case when they are combined together and when the phone is turn off. So if you are like me and like to turn off the phone and charge it overnight then this won't be possible with this case unless you either separate the phone from the case or leave it on over night.

Secondly I think that that the Smart Battery Case is not made of different consistency of silicone compared to the regular silicone case. I have a iPhone 6s Antique White silicone case and although it pick up a little dirt during day it generally isn't that bad nothing that can't be fixed by wiping it on your jeans or using your sleeves. The White Smart Battery Case on the other hand get really dirty very quickly and dust seem to be attracted to it like a magnet. What really ignoring is the fact it had actually pick up more dirt when I wipe it on my Jeans.

In the end I returned the Smart Battery Case and got a refund from the Apple Store. However I don't completely dislike the iPhone Battery Case and therefore I gave it 3 stars.

Silicon exterior is a poor choice

    - Extends the battery life incredibly. I no longer charge the phone several times a day.
    - Fits comfortably in your hand. It doesn't look sexy, but you won't notice it when holding the phone to your ear, or using the phone to txt.
    - Intuitive interface on the GUI lets you know how much charge the case has, and how much the phone battery has. Surprisingly, the case can't always charge the phone as fast as you can consume the battery. I've had the case show 90% charge, while the phone drains to 80%. This was only during INTENSE usage, and the case quickly catches up once you stop terrorizing the phone.

    - The silicon exterior is horrible. It feels grippy, like something sticky without being sticky. While this sounds like it would be a plus for not dropping it (and it is), it creates strange issues elsewhere. For starters, pulling this phone+case out of your pants pocket (or any pocket) is a nightmare. The silicon grips the inside of your pocket, and doesn't want to let go without pulling the entire pocket with it. The flip side of this is if you want to lean your phone against something. You'd think that sticky silicon would prevent it from sliding flat. Nope. The silicon takes on this slick property, and your phone will SLOWLY slide to horizontal. VERY annoying.
    - The headphone jack is now much deeper. A few other folks have noted that their 3rd party headphones no longer connect.
    - I have zero empirical data to back this up, but the case appears to impact the cell reception at certain times. If you position the phone in such a way that the battery is outward facing, and the phone is up against something large, I've noticed losing 2-3 bars of signal strength. Why would you put your phone in such a position I hear you asking...Simple, put your phone+case in your pocket with the screen against your body, and sit in your car. Tada! Instant signal degradation. Take the case off, same scenario, no signal degradation.

    Final Thoughts
I like the case for what it is supposed to do, give me more battery. I HATE the case in that I struggle to rip it out of my pocket when driving cause I get poor reception.

Easily the best charging case ever

I got this case in my stocking as part of a Christmas present and was instantly so excited. It's the best charging case I've ever used. I had a mophie for my iPhone 5/5S and loved it, but it was difficult to charge and it was bulky, but it did the job. It seems like Apple put a lot of thought into this when they made this case, because I have none of those issues now. I love how it charges with the lightning charger and I love how it feels. I was worried about the fact that there's no way to turn the case on or off, but now that I've been using it, I'm obsessed. You can swipe down and check the battery widget in the Notification Center to see how much battery is left on the phone and the case. I love the integration Apple has created between their accessories and devices. I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone.

    Great Design---Works as promised!

I am a long-time user of Mophie and, most recently, Anker charging products. Many of the "on-line expert reviews" have given this product a low rating. I must disagree--I think this product is fantastic and here are some of the reasons:

--The Mophie/Anker/etc products all use a MicroUSB cable for charging. Because I move my phone from the car, to the office to charging on planes, the MicroUSB begins to degrade until the point that the phone will only charge as long as it is in a certain position in relation to the pin. Candidly, the MicroUSB is derelict of pin/plug design. I have never been able to get more than 3 to 6 months out of any of thee products. Anker has replaced my device once--(TOP Rated according to some)---and, I said ENOUGH!

--The lighting pin works and connects solid and, most everyone with an apple will have a lightning plug these days--so, you can always find an apple user and borrow a cable. Otherwise, you are looking for an Android user to ask them if you can borrow their cable to charge your phone.

--The case is a simple one-piece design. I have dropped (yes it happens) the Anker and Mophie. The top-rated Anker case splits open in a fraction of a second at relatively low drops. Then the case and plastic pins get messed up, then, it starts falling apart. Same for the mophie two piece designs. This one piece has already met the floor and the case stayed on perfectly since, of course, it's a single piece design.

--The grip material is excellent. Much easier to hold onto than slick Anker or Mophie. Oh, and if you buy any of the colored Mophie's and drop, the color scratches off leaving you a black and gold or black and red mis match. No plastic painting here.

--The electronics are seamlessly interfaced into charging and you can read battery life of both the case and the phone in the pull down window (I forget what it is called).

--It's backed by Apple. Try returning your busted Mophie to Best Buy. I toss them in the trash can on they way into Best Buy to get another.

My only complaint is the way the charger works. It discharges the case battery to keep the phone at 100% during the day. So, you will need to remember that the case may be dead by the end of the day, even though your phone says 90%. I used to only turn on the charger of the batter case when my phone hit 20% or so. This battery does it's own thing--but, maybe Apple decided it is better to work the internal battery that way.

At $99, this is a small price to pay. And, if it lasts even a year, that will be great!

You should hold one in your hand before you judge.

Visually, it's oddly pleasing in person. How you fingers rest on the phone when your using it in hand feels natural; the balance of the battery placement makes holding it one handed from the bottom and using just your thumb pleasant. With the mophie case I felt the phone more top-heavy and cumbersome . On the rare occasion you use the phone to make phone calls the space up top makes holding it comfortable for long periods. The killer features: iOS integration, single cable, lightning port provides all functions, EarPods work with no extension, and no buttons. The white material picks up way less pocket lint that I had initially feared. The added weight is an issue of course but in due time it's negligible. Battery life is equivalent or slightly better than the Juice Pack Air this replaced. Also note that unlike most other battery cases you can still sync and use the iPod interface in the car which is incredibly convenient.

Don't let the popular reviews form your opinion

    * Feels awesome. Just the right amount of grip but not too grippy.
    * The color is spot on for the white/silver iPhone.
    * Having the mic and speaker redirected to the front works very well.
    * I have never used a battery case that was one piece where the phone was this secure but still easy to remove.
    * Automatic charging/iOS integration.

    * Seems like it doubles the weight.
    * Wired headsets are more difficult. Even the OEM headset is in deep. You will probably put more stress on the cable removing it.

    Bottom line?
If you are like me and want a smaller size phone but wanted the battery life of the phone plus, then here is your answer. I can't comfortably type with the plus using one hand so this makes the phone just right. The ideal would be a iPhone 6S that is a bit fatter. Reviewers who compare this with a $35 dollar battery case on Amazon are fooling themselves. This is in another league in build quality.

    Not pretty... But pretty cool

Yes there are other options that are less money for the amount of juice you get, however the integrated lightning port and iOS integration are worth the extra $$ to me. I honestly don't think any battery cases are very nice looking so that's not too critical to me. This case is really handy to use to be honest and that's the important thing to me. Besides it actually feels pretty nice in your hand... And it's super easy to take on and off.

That being said... The big bummer is that you can't use most Beats headphones with it without an adapter. Not sure why they didn't build one into the case like they did with the lighting port.

    Not That Bad

This smart case isn't as bad as people making it out to be. I don't mind the "hump" on the back. When holding my iPhone, my pointer finger rests just about the hump. I find it comfortable to hold. And the material of the case make it very easy to hold on to. For me, I wanted the simplicity of being able to use my lightning charger to charge both the case and iPhone at the same time. I took off one star because it's supposed to deplete the case charge first, then the iPhone battery. However, just recently I've noticed by iPhone will read 99% even though the case has a charge. And today, it started dropping to 98% with the case still having a charge. So either the battery indicator is wrong, or this thing is using both iPhone and case battery at the same time. And I turned on low power mode, so I don't know why it's burning through the battery all of a sudden.
