Maybe be the worst apple product in history

I have had them replaced 4 times with the same issue, now I've decided to buy Samsung ones instead. Good job apple in completely failing in customer satisfaction,

Seriously, do not waste your money!

I bought my first set in 2014 and since then they have been replaced every year with the same broken cable issue. Used only in the office and in the train, so nothing special. Now one year later they are broken AGAIN (third time, same issue) and unfortunately they can't be replaced. Not that I want a new pair for the 4th time, but this quality for this price can not be sold in my opinion!!

So my strong advise to spend your money better!

    Excellent

Excellent quality earphones with a good punchy bass and a crisp sound quality. These earphones are more suited to indoor listening and less active outdoor use as the earphones are made from solid aluminium so they're a bit heavy. Because of this when the leads tug on them (for example if you're running) they can fall out of your ears. However despite this they are an excellent pair of earphones for daily listening. If you're looking for something more suited to fitness I'd recommend the Beats PowerBeats3 Wireless Earphones which I personally use for cycling as they stay in your ears with no problems whatsoever. These earphones are of excellent quality and I would definitely recommend them .

    Not built to last.

Originally I was very pleased with my urbeats. I bought the space grey version and they looked great. They sounded great too. However the left ear bud suddenly stopped producing sound and shortly after so did the right ear bud. I only use my earphones on my commute to work; so just under one hour usage per day and no strenuous activity that may cause damage, i.e. Running or any other exercise. Given that most people use their earphones on a daily basis you'd expect an £80 pair of earphones to be durable and be able to withstand frequent use.

Conveniently the urbeats stopped working shortly after the warranty expired so I am unable to exchange for a new pair. I was considering purchasing a pair of beats x earphones when I upgrade my phone later this year but given how disappointing the urbeats were, I'm reluctant to pay another £130 for a product that may not even last a year.

    Cheap Quality

As with a lot of companies that sell out, the quality of this product has greatly deteriorated. The original Beats ear buds headphones had a strong, tangle-free cord. The latest urBeats for which I just paid $99.00 are no better than the $15.00 cheap in-ear headphones I can pick up at Walmart. They are trash. The only way they are justifying this cost is attaching the brand name: Beats by Dre. I will be returning these TODAY and either overpaying for the first generation in a secondary market or going with Bose.

    Apple, get your stuff together

I received a pair of Urbeats on Christmas 2015 and they just broke yesterday. The right ear went dead. They lasted 15 months. I used them 5 days a week in the gym and seriously beat them up good. They were great and i have no complaints. Now here comes the lame part. I went to best buy today to grab another pair. I saw the grey and black and was stoked. RAIDERS!!! I get them home and plug them in and before the first song was over the left ear was done!!!?? Went back to best buy and dropped a little more money for the Bose earbuds. Got home and plugged them in and i was flabbergasted. They were horrible quality..... Went back to best buy again and grabbed another pair of beats and decided to roll the dice. It's been 8 hrs and no issues.....

Good headphones if you never want to use them after a month

Bought these about June last year they worked perfectly fine for about a month then the right side started to fail and then the sound in both earphones were virtually non-existent and even with the volume turned all the way up you could barley hear out of them I always treated them well and never travelled with them unless they were in the supplied travel case I then reterned them to the store I bought them from and got given a new pair in exchange and within a month the exact same thing happened they have amazing sound but definitely not worth the $120+ cost for a month of use I would definitely not recommended buying this product

    HELP TIP FOR CURRENT USERS

I´m not sure how to qualify this earphones, I disagree with most of the reviewers about build quality, I think the problem is more related to bad design of a critical part of the phones.

Regarding sound quality...well if you are buying Beats you know what to expect, so is unfair to critic the "heavy bass", it´s like buying Ethimotics to enjoy hip hop. Being Beats they are true to their sound signature which I enjoy.

As per build quality the plug, cable and drivers are very good quality, the carrying case is OK and they fit well on my ears, however same as 75% of the reviewers after 6 or 7 months the left earphone started to sound very low and muffled. At first I thought they were lost since I bought them at US but I´m living abroad so I forgot them for a couple of months.

A couple of days ago I tried them again and of course the left earphone still sounded low and muffled, so I removed the ear-tip (which was clean) but since they were lost for me I also removed with a needle the red grill which covers the driver, with the red grill removed I put the ear-tip on place again and for my surprise the left earphone started to sound loud and clear as brand new...put the red grill on place again and the earphone sounded low and muffled.

So for me was clear that this red little thing was the problem, I put the red thing in a water and alcohol mix for 15 minutes, carefully with the needle tried to remove any present dust (not visible at eyesight) and put back the red grill on the earphone, tried the earphone and sounded as expected.

Now the funny thing about the history, the urBeats WITHOUT those red grills (removing them from both drivers) sound (FOR ME) a lot better than with them in place, they are still bassy but they gain a lot in clarity, the volume increase and highs/mids are lots more enjoyable.

Of course the drawback is that this red grills have two tasks, one is acoustic (I´m pretty sure about this...and here is the bad design choice since dust and dirt end affecting the sound quality even reducing to zero the volume of the driver) the other task is to protect the driver avoiding dust and dirt entering on it, but if you are careful and clean them regularly I don´t think it could be a problem, also checking other in ear phones that I own I noted that a pair of Sennheiser (5 years old) and a pair of Klipsch (3 years old) none of them have any kind of grill or mesh protecting the drivers (besides naturally the ear-tips) and they still work very good.

I hope this could help users with the same problem since the urbeats are good earphones affected by a bad design choice that could be solved.

    Cheers!

    Received Defective product.

I purchased a pair of these headphones, and while the audio quality is acceptable and the packaging and design are exceptional, the quality control is absolutely terrible. The first pair I picked up had a Left/Right volume imbalance. The left side was way too quiet and the right side was way too loud. Luckily I was able to get an exchange from the Apple store, even past the 2 week exchange period, but seriously what's going on with beats having shady quality control. I expect these to break within a month like the other reviews.

One last thing, beats don't sound all that great. Too much bass and overall the sound isn't as clean as other companies. Don't buy these for the audio quality.

    They just dont work

Received this as a gift for Christmas four days ago, and has already stopped working, the left ear has little to no sound, and full blast sounds like half volume, i will be returning these for either another pair or cash back. Disappointed as the build quality is nice, the material feels good, and the sound quality is impressive.

Try this for electric shocks in between listening!

Not well insulated or maybe some exposed wiring.
I keep getting electric shocks, making it uncomfortable to use.
    Will not recommend.

    Bad product

The sound quality is good tho, but it will work well for 3-4 mouths and something will go wrong. In my case, the left earphone stopped working . Then when i got another new urBeats Earphones i got the same problem 4 mouths later. I got this problem twice. So for the quality it doesn't worth it.

Love the sound. Hate the build quality.

As many others have mentioned, I'm very happy with the sound (disclaimer: I'm not an audiophile) and I love the "feel" of the earbuds, cord and mic/volume control...but the build quality just is not there. I'm 10 months in on my 3rd pair of urBeats in the past 4 years and this morning I just noticed the cord sleeve is starting to split open at the "Y" intersection housing, exposing the wires. It's a shame, because they're great otherwise.

Ur Buds are overpriced and break for just about everyone

I have a pair of over ear beat headphones that have worked for years, but these urbuds are horrible. I have had them for two weeks and the left earphone got really quiet, then after that side went quiet ten minutes later the right one went quiet, and now they are both super low volume on max and im very annoyed.

    Works great, for a bit

I was fortunate enough to receive these earphones as a birthday gift. I used them for a few days, and at the time I thought they were really good. After the few days I noticed the sound had gone soon after in the right earphone. This was odd and prompted me to use some other earphones for a day in the hopes that they would somehow be fixed by the time it can to use them again. Tried them again and now not only did I have no sound in the right, I also had no sound in the left, making them useless. Tried searching for a solution and came across nothing. Absolutely disgusted with this, especially as these are ~£50 earphones and my £15 ones worked far better. At least I'm not the only one experiencing a hatch lesson in why you shouldn't by Beats products.
