Good headset - abysmal battery life

I've used numerous Bluetooth headsets (mostly LG) and only needed to recharge every few days or so. The fact that I can't make it through a day with the beats-x is driving me nuts.

I think this is another example of Apple's design aesthetic overriding usability. I'd be happy with larger "bumps" on the cord to accommodate a larger battery.

    Best earphones I ever owned - 10/10

After years of buying cheap £20 earphones and them breaking after a few months I decided to spend a little more money and get some beats. That was a few years ago when I got my urBeats - these were great (even went through the washing machine and still work). These earphones however are 10x better. Sound quality is amazing and it feels like you are submerged in whatever you are listening to. You can’t even feel them in your ears - not to mention there’s no contestant tugging from the cables! Battery life is good - very easy and quick to charge, not an inconvenience at all. Overall superb quality earphones 10/10.

    Very disappointed

I was super excited about these earbuds. They were a perfect match for my iphone and they fit my iPhone charger. I love how leightweight they are. Doesn’t feel like a dog collar is around my neck. Perfect! But my excitement quickly faded. After only a month they malfunctioned. My first thought was, no way! These things cost way too much money to have issues this soon! With much hesitation I brought them to the apple store to get them repaired. They worked fine for a few more months until they malfunctioned again. In all of 6 months I’ve had 2 malfunctions. I’m done. $150.00 down the drain. Beats will never get another dime from me.

    Beats X are awesome!

I purchased these for use during school. I am a college student and I wanted to buy a wireless pair of earphones that I could use during my commute to school. I was hesitant on picking these or the AirPods. The price difference isn't drastic, but I've read many reviews about the AirPods not fitting in many people's ears. They are a one size fits all. The Beats X on the other hand, comes with different ear-tips, so if you have smaller ears, they will still fit. The sound is surprisingly good. Beats usually over do bass, but these have a balanced sound, so any music will sound good with these. Noise isolation is a little too much, but it's sometimes good to have. Most of the time, I cannot hear what's going on around me. Taking phone calls is excellent. People on the other end can hear me perfectly with no problems, so these are perfect for taking conference calls. Overall, these are the best purchase I have made in a long time.

    Only bought it cause LIZA!!!

At first the only reason I bought these were because Liza has a way with words and she convinced me to... with her words (face) but after using them I quickly realised they weren’t oversold at all these things are KILLER! Definitely worth buying!!!!

The sound quality is spectacular, the range of the Bluetooth is surprisingly far, and I love how you can talk through the earphones.

Stop working suddenly - cannot power on.

I have been using it for commute and it stopped working suddenly after 6months. (March 2017)
No charging light and cannot power on.

Service Centre at my location takes 1-2 weeks for replacement.

Sound quality wise this is one of the BEATS with less bass, which i like.

    Not reliable

After eight months my pair have stopped working. Battery is 100%, firmware 7.0.3. Beats Updater recognizes them, but as soon as I unplug, they won't power on, and I can't reset them. Don't buy.

Excellent sound quality and rugged earphones

I used these earphones on a 6000km cycle tour around Europe. I wore them every day to get sat nav directions and listen to music from my phone.
They charged very quickly from my cache battery while camping, while I was having breakfast and generally lasted 7 hours which is long enough! They are extremely sweat resistant, as I was riding in 40°+ temperatures.
Audio quality is superb and phone calls are a joy to recieve.
I am looking forward to many years of use of these headphones.

    Great headphones

so far so good. Very comfortable. I tried Airpods and Powerbeats 3 and they did not work for me, but BeatsX do and I wanted to have the W1 chip. Quality wise they are great, I'll see how they hold up. My friend has a pair too and his have been going good for the last 3 months

I work in a factory which isn’t quiet by any means. I Listen to absolutely everything but country music. These are by far the nicest pair of headphones I’ve ever had. I had the LG Tones witch were nice, but that band is bulky, also to mention the 14hr battery life is nice. The beats x are in my opinion way better the sound quality is far more better they even cancel out outside noise better. They don’t have as long of a bettery life but it takes the same charger as my phone and they really mean 5 mins of charge gives you additional 2 hours of battery they aren’t bulky. I recommend buying for anyone who works with loud machines.

Surprising Terrible. Apple - What were you thinking?

Great concept (not rooted to the phone with a cable, but with neck cable to prevent loss). However, the sound quality is akin to a £10 set of headphones from a garage. An aggressive, tinny sound with no bass. Truly unpleasant to listen to.

I was expecting something close to my Bose SEs. Playing with GE settings on the phone, you can get a sound that gets you closer to a £15 set of earbuds, but still a long, long way from what I would consider acceptable for the price.

Also, perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but I also found that if I pause music for a while, the only way I can start playback again is by fishing my phone out of my pocket and starting from there. I first thought it maybe because they had gone to sleep, but you can still trigger Siri (and no, after doing that, you can't start music playback again).

On the upside, the fit is good, and I can't see them flying out of my ears when moving about. You also have no cable noise (when the cable rubs on things as you walk - something quite bad on the new Bose SEs and why I was in the market for a new set).

But at the end of the day, these are almost certainly going back, so it doesn't really matter how well they fit.

    Best in-ear earphones experience ever

The best part about these beats is not the fact that they sound amazing, it is that they Look as good as they sound! It is amazing the amount of people in the street that walk up to me to ask me about my earphones! Could not have made a better choice with these easy to use and amazing look and sound quality earphones!

    Waste of Money

I didn't listen when people said these stopped working out of nowhere and I bought them anyways. MISTAKE. I just got them in the mail a few months ago and they will no longer turn on. Nothing will work. Do not waste your money.

    Brilliant with a twist

I thought they were rubbish for a while, they just would not convince me. I am an avid music head. Until I swapped the ear tips with the white ones from the wired in-ear headphones from Apple and was surprised to find stellar quality. They are well made, have a better material, they are a tad tinier so they create a tighter seal and the hole for the drivers is better shaped and closer to the ear.

Twist: poorly made included tips, expensive but with a clear vision. Gives a sense of musical freedom but do not impress on detail.

Average battery life, lightning cable compatibility

8 hours of Battery Life Tops seems short, but the Fast Fuel technology (45 minutes for a full charge) with Apple Lightning Cable compatibility more thank makes up for it. The audio is OK (9/16 bars on an iPhone 7 for optimal volume) for a Beats product. The Class 1 NFC is optimized for iOS devices since the iPhone 7 era, but it may be a chore to hook it up to other bluetooth devices or any Class 2 Bluetooth Host. This is one of Beats's more original offerings, but given that it's in its first inception, it has some room for improvement.

    Worth Every Cent!!

I have never been a fan of the beats line, for the most part I thought the sound and build quality could be found elsewhere cheaper, but boy was I wrong! The beatsX offers a sound usually only found in headphones with massive drivers and a bulky headband! These things a great and has forever changed the way I see Beats!!

    Perfect for every lifestyle

I go these earphones when I bought my wife her new iPad. I was going to go with the Apple wireless earphone, but since I travel a lot, I am always worried they will fall and I will loose them and they won’t cancel the sound on the plane. The beats earphones are perfect, they sound amazing, have an 8 your battery life and recharge so fast, I was shocked. They fit well and cancel other sounds so you can lower the volume of your music or movies and save your hearing. I do recommend them.

Multiple returns/too easily damaged by moisture

The smallest amount of moisture will cause damage to these headphones. I am on my second pair currently and am literally reviewing this because my left headphone just went out - I am walking in very light rain with a hood on. I have had this second pair for 3.5 weeks after I warranted out the first pair due to the power button not working due to - you’d guess it - WATER DAMAGE. I use these to work out. I’ve never dropped them in any sort of water. It is incredibly frustrating to have to return to the Apple store for my now THIRD pair. It is NOT worth it
