Save Time - Put $150 in the Trash Instead

I have no clue how Apple gets away with selling these for $150. I have no problem when using these to watch Netflix on my MacBook, but for some reason they won't play music from Spotify without getting disconnected every 5 seconds. I've tried playing from my iPhone and from my MacBook. I originally bought the PowerBeats3 but was having this same issue so I went to the store and swapped them out for the BeatsX. Problem not solved. I would give these and the Power Beats negative stars if possible.

    Poor quality, keep breaking

First pair failed after 2 months and were replaced under Apple's 1 year limited warranty. Replacement pair then became faulty within two weeks of being replaced. Send back to Apple for a full refund.

very bad quality and poor featurs

Beatsx earphone doesn't answer the calls automatically when you separate the magnetic pods
more worse that even the 2 pods are attached and you start your music or even Facebook, still the sound goes to the earphones instead of the phone speaker, those features are basic and default in other good brands and cheaper than beatsx
cheap quality of the product, the plastic and the wires are so cheap and looks like a product of $20 not $150

Best earphone ever, but Bluetooth connection broke

These earphones would have been 5 stars all the way and are by far the best I've ever owned. Much better than Jaybird. They look great, sound awesome (Apple earbuds sound awful now in comparison), and the magnetic clip was very convenient. The only issue is that they stopped connecting wirelessly to my iPhone after a few months. They never connected automatically as advertised, but that was OK--I just had to go through an extra step. Apple is fixing under warranty and I hope they never break again. But the product does seem to have mechanical issues, as other reviewers have noted.

Good, not great, and definitely overpriced

    - Amazingly smooth pairing and switching between iOS / macOS devices
    - Great Bluetooth range
    - Great battery life (in my experience at least as good as advertised)
    - Great fit with included tips (though fit varies from person to person I have pretty difficult small ears and I don't have to use the wings while working out at the gym)
    - Good but not amazing sound (they do not have the signature bassy sound of past Beats, this doesn't mean that they sound bad)
    - Good aesthetic design and style
    - Cheap build quality (the volume button fell off on day one, but Apple gave me a new pair)
    - No sleep or auto-off function whatsoever (not having this feature is so strange to me)
    - Not water/sweat resistant

Worked fine for under a month, then bad connectivity and crackle sounds began. Soon they wouldn't connect to any device at all, updating them via beats updater fixed that somehow. Afterwards they worked for another 2 months with even worse connectivity, finally one day after charging they wouldn't turn on. Miraculously they would occasionally turn on randomly on their own whim, power button lights went nuts, left earbud wouldn't work, in 2 days they were dead for good.

If you feel like donating 150$ to a multi billion company trading garbage for gold, this is the product.

    Simply Awesome!

Before purchasing these earphones I did literally weeks or research about which wireless earphones would be best for sound, price and quality. I read allot of comments on the Apple site and there was allot of negativity about features and sound quality of these Beats x's. I took the plunge and purchased a pair because of the Beats name as I have owned beats before and I have no idea what some people are talking about when they say the quality is not up to scratch. I can honestly say that these earbud headphones are simply the best I have ever heard. I have owned many wired earbud headphones and have found the sound just ok and the earbuds them selves start to heart after a while of being in my ear. I have had the Beats X's now for about a month and I live with these things in my ears. They are so comfortable that sometimes I forget I have them in and they sound incredible. Recharging usually only takes about 45mins and lasts a full 8 hours.

After reading my review, you would think I work for Beats! I can honestly say with hand on heart that I am just an every day person looking for what I would call the best wireless earbuds on the market giving an honest review to help those trying to make the right decision about whether or not these Beats are all they are cracked up to be. Yes they are. You will not be disappointed.

    Amazing sound, feel, and look

After reading mixed reviews I questioned whether to go for these or another style but ultimately I chose the Black BeatsX. Best decision ever, the sound quality is amazing, the connection to my iPhone is lossless and the feel is comfortable and usable. I use them in my daily life as well as fitness. Running was no issue as the Beats come with a wing attachment to help them stay in place better. Overall I was very impressed, would 100% recommend, my new favorite earphones!

    Pretty nifty.

I've been wanting a pair of wireless earphones for some time. I recently purchased an iPad Pro and received these earphones as a free gift in the Back to School Promotion. So far, so good! They stood up to an intense leg day workout today. I only did few things on the floor, but I didn't have any trouble when laying down like another poster did. Sound quality is pretty good, noise cancellation is superb for a pair of earphones. Not as good as the Beats headphones I already have, but the portability and breathability of the BeatsX makes up for it.

Don't know if I'd pay $150, though. It's very very nice that they hook up to all my Apple products with no setup, and I really like them, but it was also kind of difficult to set up the wing tips! Everything fits a little too snug. I also don't know if these feel durable enough that I'd want to spend a lot of money on them. I think if Apple brought the price down to $80-$100, I'd bite.

    Unfortunately they stop working

The headphone quality is about the same as the earpods which I liked. But now after 2 months of using them the battery life is about 3 hours from 100% to 0% and when connected to a macbook pro (perhaps any laptop) they stop playing sound when you choose a new video to play. So bizarre.

    As Good As Expected

I had been waiting for these since they were announced at last year's iPhone 7 reveal as I was planning ok getting an iPhone 7 and knew there wouldn't be a headphone socket and didn't fancy the Air Pods as they wouldn't have for my ears. Now I must say connecting was a breeze, just as easy as demonstrated and the battery life is as advertised. In my opinion these are a perfect accessory for the iPhone 7 and have a deep balanced sound. Take time to use correct sized ear buds and push them in properly and you'll be immersed in Beats trademark sound.

    Great while it lasted

First time going with a wireless headphone and these did not disappoint. Great bass and lasted long enough for my commute going to and from work. Loved them until they had the white light blink of death that everyone gets. There is a long thread in the apple support forums with countless people with the same issue ranging from being 1 month old to 4. I had mine for 3 months and used only for my train ride to and from work before they died. Apple needs to recall these because at this price they should last way longer than 3 months.

    Go with something else

One star is the lowest. It would be zero if I had that choice.
They worked extremely well for the first 60 days. After the first tw months, they only hold a 10 minute charge. Apple Support is painful and very limited in they ability to do anything constructive.
I would recommend going with a different bluetooth headset and any phone besides the iPhone 7.
The new W1 chip has made most non-Apple bluetooth headsets almost unusable.

    Expected better

I read all the reviews before purchasing and decided to make the purchase, unfortunately I'll be returning them. Here's the pros and cons:
Pros: They fit well in my ears, the wire is not uncomfortable, TV and Movie sound is great, voices are clear and loud.
Cons: Music sound is not so good, sound is tinny and airy, lacks bass and most songs end up sounding very similar. Really disappointed with the sound quality. I'm not an audiophile but the wired EarPods that come free are far superior in sound quality than these.

Kinda okay...most of the time. I guess.

I like the sound. The cords, though, are too long. They're okay if you're exercising while standing, but if you do exercises laying on your back or on a bench, the cords flop around, and sometimes the control pod gets caught between my shoulder and the bench and it starts turning the volume down. Have to keep rearranging them. And sometimes my arms rub up on the cords, making weird contact noises. But they're way better than the dorky seventies style ear phones that came with my iPhone 7 Plus, that's for sure. I have a feeling they won't last very long, though. And they come with the charging cord but no USB plug-in thing? C'mon. That's pretty chintzy. Oh, and as far as using them on cell phone calls? No, just no. It's like talking to yourself. They're overpriced, in my opinion.

    Seriously Apple?

These have been a chore since purchase. These headphones have been in my possession for under a month, and not a day has passed where their use hasn't been messy. The stutter is endless, cracking in and out when two feet away in the pocket of my running shorts. The sound is good, as long as you get the earbuds in perfectly, but now the sound is almost completely missing in the left earpiece. Having to power Bluetooth on and off, having to constantly restart the headphones and hoping they re-pair appropriately with the M1 (the M it seems stands for "marketing") and hoping with fingers crossed that I can walk from the parking garage to my classroom with a consistent music experience--knowing I will not--are not issues one should have to deal with in a pair of earphones that cost $150. As each day passes, it seems Apple the company is less about "it just works" and more about "Its just makes us $$." I have a Genius appointment on Monday and am hoping to reman civil.
