    Super comfortable general-purpose headphones!

I own a pair of headphones for every activity throughout my day. The Beats X are great general purpose headphones when I'm just hanging out and not doing anything strenuous. They stray from the iconic "Beats sound profile" with punchy bass as opposed to deep booming bass, but that's not a bad thing! I would put these on par with a pair of Bose SoundSport Wireless headphones in every category except for activity.

    Sound got worse over time

The Beats X started out working great. My main use is for working out and using the Beats X. Not sure if the sweat has caused them to take a dump or what. The sound in the right ear is weak. It now is basically seems like both buds have little to no volume. I tried to have Apple repair but they were not cooperative in doing so. These ear buds maybe better suited for just taking calls and not to be used with heavy exercise use.

    Loved my BeatsX

I loved my earphones, easy to connect to my Iphone bluetooth, very clear and high sound and block outside noise. I use my earphone to run indoor and never fall from my ear. Very smooth silicon to plug in my ear which never hurt.
    Loved and I recommend!

    Battery life claims are debatable

I purchased these headphones to use primarily for on-the-go business calls. I was surprised to see that, our of the box, they were only averaging 3.5 hours of talk time with no additional standby. Apple was great to ship out a replacement citing a possible defective battery; however, the replacement exhibited the exact same talk time. There was also a separate issue with the replacement whereby I was getting feedback in my left ear whenever the cord would brush up again my neck- probably a noise cancellation software issue. Seeing the other issues in these reviews leads me to believe that the early production units may have some pretty serious quality control issues.

Stopped working in less than a month!

The anticipation for these was huge, and upon purchase I couldn't have been happier. Sound quality was great and the W1 Chip made for seamless integration with my iPhone and iPad.

Never wore them outside and was always careful to make sure they were neatly tucked away in the included carrying case when not in use.

Suddenly 2 weeks ago they would not turn on. Indicator was dead and there was no response when connecting them to a charger. My disappointment is heavy. Something as hyped as a Beats product should never run in to these issues when being so new.

Yet to be serviced but based on previous reviews, I will be s**t out of luck getting a refund or replacement.

    Not happy at all.

    Bad product - No bass

I received these in February and have been through two repairs due to poor sound quality but turns out this is just a poor product. The bass in nonexistent which makes listening to music completely uneventful and uninjoyable. I would return these without question if Apple didn't have a 14 day return policy. I'm going to attempt a 3rd repair request and really hope I can get approval for a refund or exchange because I would like to get a pair of earphones or headphones with proper quality. For now my free apple headphones will be used over the $150 BeatsX. So disappointed.

    Awesome Wireless Earphone Experience!!

I've used wired audiophile headphones for a long time and didn't believe these could be good on the go alternatives to my wired headphones, BUT I WAS WRONG! THESE ARE FANTASTIC. The sound profile is more balanced than previous-generation Beats. They fit well for my ear shape - also, once snug in my ear, the sound mellows into nice even tones without any noticeable distortions. Plus fit offers passive noise cancellations, nice perk!

Battery life is as advertised, even when the volume is consistently set at 80%.

Design, build quality and materials DO NOT feel cheap compared to other headphones in the same price range. I recommend these headphones to anyone on the go, who is looking for balanced sound and ease of use.

Talk time far less than advertised

I use them exclusively for calls. Sound quality and fit are great. However, I get a maximum of 4 hours of talk and standby time combined. Although the recharge time is as fast as advertised, I do have to make sure that I charge them between conference calls to avoid them shutting down unexpectedly. This is my second pair after i replaced the first one thinking that it was defective. Both of them though exhibit the same battery characteristics.

Would be better if they honored $30 gift card

I LOVE how easy it is to connect via Bluetooth to my iPhone, iPad and Macs and how reliable the connection is. I finally have a Bluetooth device that actually works well! As people are saying, the sound quality is pretty good but not great. They are really comfortable and have decent battery life.

The one thing really irks me is that it comes with a $30 gift card (making the price a lot more reasonable), but I've been trying for *over a week* to get onto the Beats registration website but every time I get a message that they're having technical issues. I've seen messages on Reddit from two MONTHS ago saying they're having issues. Sounds like they just don't want to honor the gift card, which is just plain slimy and not what I'd expect from Apple.

    Great until they break...

I bought these as soon as they were released as I wanted some neat wireless earbuds (and didn't want to go for the AirPods). They worked great with very good sound quailty and noise isolation.

Unfortunately, it has only taken a month for them to break. It's absolutely gutting when you spend a great amount of money on some big brand earbuds and they only go and break. The noise in the right ear suddenly vanished and is broken at the bud end of the wire. I really thought these would last me at least a year but apparently not. I have not been tugging around the cord or doing anything rough with them, only regular day-to-day use. I have also been storing them in the carrying case which is recommended by Beats.

Now I will have to go back to the Apple store and send these off to be replaced which will take a couple of weeks (this has happened to me before with the Solo2 Wireless).

It's a great shame that a company so large can't even make earbuds that last more than a month or two.

I would have recommended the BeatsX but I can't say can now.

    Excellent beats x

Recently purchased beats x and I am very pleased with the sound quality. Pairing to my iPhone is a breeze and 8 hrs battery life is easily achieved.I found the earbuds extremely comfortable and was able to wear them for several hours without any discomfort. My only criticism and hence the reduction of one star is the travel pouch which is of very poor quality, it is a dust magnet and the ear phones don't fit completely into the pouch.Anyone spending £130 on earphones should expect a much better case than this which is completely unfit for purpose

    Really impressed!

This is my first beats product and they haven't disappointed. Priced well. The connectivity is great, with all my devices. The sound is very balenanced and full for all types of music. I find myself wearing these all day even when I'm not using them, because they are so comfortable. I like the around the neck style, I don't feel like i will lose them.

    Great product

    Fantastic earphones

I've had my BeatsX earphones for about a week now and I'm sold, they are a truely excellent product. Excellent sounds quality and comfortable fit for long periods of time, add to that the great battery life and light weight design, making these an absolutely excellent product. I love the having the cable and the fact that the earphones have magnets to join them together around your neck when not in use, not something I initially though I would use but has been an excellent feature. 10/10

    Perfect for me

Very very surprised by sound quality. Have had other Beats, and the bass drowned out the music. They stayed in my ear during running. They charge really quick. I think if I had a complain, I would just be being spoiled or petty. They works perfect for me.

    Compatible, fit great, sounds great.

I really like the idea that they loop around your neck. That was the one reason I wasn't too keen on the wireless headphones. When I put these on, they fit just right. I have a terrible time with ear buds, but these are perfect. Works with my iPods, iPad, and iPhone. just great.

    Solid functionality, okay sound quality

Solid build quality, stupid easy device switching with built-in W1 chip, Lightning port for charging, and Fast Fuel which gives you 2 hours of playback with 5 minutes of charging. The plastic enclosures on the either ends of the neckband part does bounce around a fair bit when you're running (especially the left, because of the weight of the in-line remote) but it's not that much of a problem, and the noise that comes through the cables are tolerable. Sound quality is okay. It's not as bass-heavy as other Beats products, but the treble can get uncomfortably high especially at high volumes. Another nice bonus is that you get a 3 month Apple Music subscription for free (as of the writing of this review). If Apple Music isn't your thing, you can always choose to add the subscription as iTunes credit which will net you about $30. The code also works for non-US iTunes Stores as long as they're in one of the promotion participating countries.

If you're already pretty invested into Apple's ecosystem (as in own at least two Apple products) go ahead and buy these. If not, try looking into other options first before pulling the trigger. You will be getting a lot less out of these earphones if you only own one Apple device.

    Stopped working after 30 days

Worked ok for a while but then suddenly stopped working after 30 days. Complete garbage. Now I can't even get a refund. Last pair of beats I'll ever buy.

    Fair to middling

Was really wanting to get blown off my feet with these, but honestly no better than my jaybird 2.
Being slightly hard of hearing the volume a tad on the low side for me, sound quality can't really fault.
My biggest gripe is the connectivity, sometimes power on and instantaneous music, other have to dig the phone out to connect, tried resetting but still very hit and miss.
Control layout also poor, the weeist on/off button ever and moving to the next track, seem to end up talking to Siri quite a lot, which has now got used to the command" play music".
Fast charge is superb though, all in all if the jaybird 2 had fast charge also would win hands down.
