    Cracks after a few months

As others reported, my case has developed cracks by the headphone jack and lightning port... As a result it's not as snug as it once was, and for the price that's not ok. Expect 6 months use at best

    Perfect case

I had the leather case for my ipad air and I think that this silicone case for the ipad pro is at least of the same quality if not better.
It has a pleasant touch and color, and after two months of usage I can not say anything bad about it. It is a good Apple product and I highly rate it!

    Poor Quality

One of the corners cracked after owning it for only 45 days. The case had minimal use at home and was not dropped. I would look for other options.

Review for silicone case. O and its covers.

There are so many negative reviews out there for covers for the iPad Pro that I felt obliged to write this.
Firstly bought the key board cover for my iPad Pro which is an excellent product but always felt that the iPads back was vulnerable. I read negative reviews which stated that the quality of the new case was poor and it didn't work with the smart cover and this didn't work as a stand. I couldn't believe that the team at apple could get this so badly wrong. However I looked for a cover by another manufacturer. Couldn't find one that was not just cheap plastic or so bulky that it would have driven me mad. So in the end I ignored the negative reviews and bought both and both work just fine. The quality and feel is good and I now have confidence in taking my iPad out and about. Defeats the object of a portable computer if you just have it sat on your desk! The stand works well for such a large iPad and I expected this two part case to be bulky when handling but its not and handles well. I do feel that there is some protection for the corners which may get knocked and crack the screen if you are unlucky.

Now I couldn't find any reviews at the time as to wether the Key board cover works with the silicone case but to my joy it does so take heed, you don't need to buy a keyboard cover and a smart cover. I can see why Apple designed the case to be in two parts, it gives you the choice but to me this isn't clear when researching on the net, but again I could be just looking in the wrong place. A trip to the Apple store would have sorted this one out. About materials I prefer the feel of the silicone to the leather as its better for use as a drawing tablet. However I was worried that the case would be just silicone as I don't see the point in this. I had a cheap silicone case for my phone and dirt and grit just get between the silicone and the aluminium case and so you may as well not have a case at all. Everything moves and rubs together causing scratches. But no worries, the case is quite rigid and the inside has a soft protective layer. So don't do as I did, dilly around for weeks unable to make a decision. Its five stars to the iPad Pro cases and Keyboard, so get your hand in your pocket.

Depends, how often will you carry the iPad around?

    1) "...fits snugly over the buttons without adding bulk." Agreed. It's a perfect (read 'best') fit.
    2) "...protects the back of your iPad Pro...". Agreed. Soft microfibre lining is pretty cool and will definitely help keep the rear-side your iPad brand new so you can show off to your friends as to how awesome you are at maintaining your super expensive device(s).
    3) "...the silky, soft-touch silicone exterior feels great in your hand." Agreed.

    1) "...protects the back of your iPad Pro" but will not protect that one edge which has the smart connector because of which you will try to "over" protect your iPad and for I-don't-know-what-reason you will end up with a scratch/dent/something or the other on this one edge. Happened to me. On my second day of using the device. Yeah, yeah, I should've bought the Smart Cover and protected that one edge.
    2) "...the silky, soft-touch silicone exterior feels great in your hand" but not so great when you have to carry the iPad around. This is pretty bad. It's so silky that it tends to slip away quite easily. Apple's secret recipe for what would appear to be a 'drop-it-like-it's-hot' moment. Thankfully, I'm not walking around much with it.
    3) Now. Why did I not buy the Smart Cover? Because I bought the Smart Keyboard. And please, this stuff is expensive. Very. Expensive. Carrying the keyboard (which is also a screen protector when folded) along with the iPad is kind of bulky. Hence I avoid carrying the keyboard when I step out with my iPad but this renders my one little edge (and screen, but I am always worried about the edge rather than the screen. Hmmmmm. Odd.) vulnerable to damage.

The only reason I bought this case is because of the camera bump. Don't want the camera to get scratched when I rest the iPad on any surface. And I wanted a case that would fit perfectly, not almost.

Three stars for Apple's description about the product being spot-on (but sort of incomplete just like the case?), and 2 missing stars for 1 - being too slippery and 2 - for the ridiculous price which not many iPad Pro owners can afford.

    Perfect cover

First of all I like to say to all the reviewers that complain about the price, you know what they ask, if you find it too expensive, don't buy it. If you still buy it and complain afterwards you are a hypocrite. Buy a cheap cover which doesn't fit and is broken after a year. When you buy a Mercedes you also know you have to pay more than for a Mitshubishi.
The cover feels great, doesn' slip and fits perfectly. Very happy with it.

Why no leather one piece smart case?

Looked at the case options available for the new iPad Pro and I'm disappointed. The case is a really important part of the user experience with an iPad as it is what you see and what you touch everytime you use or hold the device. I have had quite a few iPads now and since they were first sold, I have always bought the Apple one piece leather case and really liked them. The leather absorbs some moisture from your hands to avoid that clamy feeling in a way silicon does not. Silicon rather than leather is a deal breaker for me but I also have no interest in a two piece design. It's fussy and less secure. With the front cover removed the sweaty silicon back has an unfinished look due to the exposed edge where the cover fits. I understand that this is meant to be a modular design that allows the keyboard cover to fit to the smart connector on that exposed edge but I have no interest in ever using a keyboard with my iPad and no interest in using it without a front cover, I don't like the increased bulk of the fussy magnetic front cover attachment. With the huge volume of sales Apple make I really can't see why they do not offer a range of case options. After some deliberation I have decided to not upgrade my iPad at all and will just keep using my Air 2 with it's leather case. If Apple offer a one pice leather smart case for it, I will then buy the iPad Pro. I also have an iPhone 6s with a leather case which will not be upgraded when the iPhone 7 comes out unless there is a leather case option. Apple need to offer some proper options for their premium devices instead of just dozens of colours. The case is the actual outside of the device once you own it and is more important than how the device looks when naked.

    Beautifully Expensive

I purchased this case for my 9.7-inch iPad Pro because it is a beautifully designed case. However, the silicone is very prone to damage and scuffs or chips easily. I previously owned an iPad Air with the leather Smart Case which was much more durable and a better economic solution for protecting an iPad.

    You will love it

Nice skin and feel good when you touch your iPad, but little little heavy and I want transparent (no color).

    Mediocre at Best

Apple really missed it with the cover and case. The Smart Cover is the worst apple product I've ever seen, and this case is only slightly better. They designed the case so that you have to also buy the Smart Cover to ensure proper fit. It very cheap feeling. I returned both a few days after buying.

    Mixed Feelings

The case is alright although I am not sure I would call it a case as much as I would a cover for the pack of the iPad. I agree it is a bit over priced for what you get. I could see past both those issues but I fail to understand how Apple could create a case that does not have a holder for the Apple pencil....seems kind of dumb.

    Perfect with Smart Cover

I really like the combo of Silicone Case and Smart Cover for my iPad Pro 9.7. Looks good, feels good, custom tailored fit. Yes, costly, but hey, it's Apple. I can't see downgrading a really well engineered product for cost. My experience with aftermarket cases for my iPads (on my fourth now) has not been very satisfactory.

    The Best

I'll start by saying that this is the best case I've used for an iPad or iPhone. The fit and feel have been perfect for me, and it pairs beautifully with the Smart Keyboard. I was surprised to read a few reviews saying the case is slippery, as I have experienced the exact opposite. It absolutely sticks to my hand, even if it's damp or sweaty. As for the price, they do tell you what it costs before you buy it. The decision is entirely yours, which makes it a bit illogical to complain about it after the fact. Is this the best case? Of course. Are there cheaper options? Of course. The rest is up to you.

    Best for scratch protection

This case looks phenomenal in person. The soft interior is something that Apple needs to make pillows with....ipillow. It fits with all the Apple Store screen covers and I do not know about 3rd party covers. I would recommend this if you want to keep your iPad from getting scratches or getting dirty. This case probably wouldn't absorb a drop very well, but sliding on a desk or simple bumps should be fine. Overall I like this case a lot and it works for me. If you are clumsy or if your iPad is for more than school, perhaps for a little kid, I would say get a rugged 3rd party case or apple care. Hope this helps.

At first I was a little Leary about purchasing a silicone product rather than leather. I've had leather cases on all my previous iPads and iPhones. I bought the gray one and along with the Smart Cover and am very impressed with the quality. Yes, it may be a little expensive, but the fit and finish of these products are outstanding. Compared to the leather case for iPad Air two, it's a slimmer fit and really feels good. The cover closes perfectly. I bought this with the intent of just using it until something better in leather was made. The will be the only one I need. Thank you apple!

    Cracked after 3 months use!

One corner of this silicon case is already cracked, after only 3 months of very gentle use. (Used at home only, never travelled with, never dropped)
Apple.com says accessories are not covered and asked me to check with store.
Very poor quality at a top premium price. A rip off.

Please create a one piece leather case. This is less than ordinary.

Please create a one piece leather case. The two part cover is $185 and easy to drop as it comes apart. I dropped the i{Pad as the cover came off the magnetic mount. The corner of the iPad now has a dent, and the silicon cover is cut at the corner. Waste of money.

Good, but why no leather option?

Bought this case as I don't like having my iPad unprotected. Fits perfectly as you would expect, and the Smart Cover lines up perfectly with the cutout. For anyone like me that has always had leather cases, the silicone actually feels really good, and it's holding up so far resisting scratches and it's not a finger print magnet like I thought it would be. Yes, it's expensive and I would expect leather at this price, but it's still a good quality case just a bit expensive. It's also nice having the apple logo on the back.

Perfect case for 9.7-inch iPad Pro

This case fits perfectly, no movement as the case grips around the entire edge of the iPad. The case has a premium feel, much higher quality than cheaper third party cases. Higher price for high quality! Would definitely recommend this product.

Perfect fit and works great with the Smart Cover

The case is a great tight fit. Really nice feel to it, doesn't add bulk to the iPad like other cases I've had in the past. Works well with the Smart Cover but costly to buy both. Don't know how good drop protection will be but then I don't intend on dropping it!
