    AirPods, Heaven Sent!

This past weekend (4-7-2018) I purchased my first AirPods from the Apple Store near my house. When I got back to my truck, I couldn't wait to opened the case. First, I read the instruction, people always read the instructions. I then placed them in my ears and shook my head from side to side and back to front having no problems with my AirPods falling off my ears. Next, I turned my music on and just thought how awesome these wireless earphones are, just awesome! Later on that day, I tried to pair them with my Mac, unsuccessful. I called the Apple Company and found out I needed macOS High Sierra or Higher to work. Well, I needed an upgrade any way so, I downloaded the new version for my mac. After loading it to my mac I tried to pair by pushing the button on the case in the back. Oh, don't forget to turn on your mac bluetooth first before pushing the back button. I now can listen to my AirPods on my iphone and mac book pro computer thanks to the great customer service I received from one of Apples technicians.

Later on that evening, I fell asleep with my AirPods in my ear playing music. After all that tossing and turning I did, my AirPods were still floating gently like a cloud on the inside of my ears. I slept several hours without experiencing any pain when I got up. These AirPods are heaven to my ears. Thanks Apple, thanks!.

Multiple Apple Devices = Don't buy AirPods

One of the selling points of the AirPods was that you could easily switch between Apple products and use the AirPods after setting up once with iCloud Sign In. Although, your other devices will see the AirPods as a possible device to connect to, that does not mean it is an effortless process. If you are using the AirPods on your iPhone and then later pick them up to use on your iPad then it takes multiple attempts and several minutes of constantly turning bluetooth on and off for them to finally pick up on the iPad, and vice versa. And if your iPhone is still nearby then you are in for an even harder time because they will try to connect to the last device first. Even once you are connected, they still have trouble going between phone calls and music. They will work great for music but once you answer a call, even with the phone showing you are talking using the AirPods, you won't be able to hear the other caller or them hear you. It is a constant software nightmare from a company that used to be top notch on making things right the first time. If you read through the reviews you will notice that the 5 star reviews come from people who use the them for music, and only own one Apple device or rarely switch back and forth.

Battery life for the individual pods and case is excellent for the size and sound quality is above expectations for such a small device, but Apple, just a note, not everyone is a nitpicker audiophile. Some of us just want a product that works and show you've put your energy into more than just sound quality......here's looking at you too HomePod!

My recommendation.....look elsewhere for a more seamless connection experience. As with a lot of things in the past few years, Apple has jumped the gun here and got something on the market just to get it out there....this is not a polished product like we use to see from previous management at Apple.

    Great Product

I recently up graded my Apple TV to the 4k model and purchased these at the same time. I paired them to the TV and it was like having surround sound headphones. Another big advantage is that the storage case is also a charger. Yes you can buy cheaper ear buds but if you are more concerned about quality buy Apple products. Almost forgot, they have to be the best fitting ear buds i have ever used!

    Serious disappointment.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is on record the saddest review I've ever left for any Apple product. Right off the bat - I'm a hardcore Apple fan literally since the early 80s, since their Mac Classic. I'm an industrial designer myself, so I was beyond disappointed in these headphones. PLEASE NOTE - it's impossible to give it fair stars in amazon reviews above since this product must clearly be graded on 2 distinct levels:

    1 - sound

    and 2 - function.

#1 is easy - EASILY 5 stars, and I would give it 10 if I could. The sound coming out of these miniscule headphone is truly amazing. Best I've ever heard with plenty of bass (to my surprise) and feeling genuine highest quality sound in a concert hall. This is where I give them 5 stars - Apples audio engineers did their job. To my dismay Apples designers did not. How did this product get past Jonathan Ive and their testing is beyond me. We're talking ergonomics 101 here - these earbuds are TOO BIG to fit into my ears and I'm a normal 46-yr old male with normal ears. I've used multiple earbud headphones before and they fit perfectly well as they should be, the Sony ones in particular. 2 things that make no sense to me at all:
    - Airpods are ridiculous big to stay in any ear canal
    - Worse yet they are perfectly polished, so they're slippery with no attempt to overmold even a small portion of the earbud with silicone for better friction with skin.

So after finding out there are a ton of 3rd-party silicone hooks being sold, I bought and tried no less than 5 - FIVE - different ones. Only one of the 5 - AHA hooks - worked semi-acceptably, the rest of them, top-rated here, were not working at all for me. Most of them are too thick, which makes these airpods even less ergonomic in ear. Yet what made me return the Airpods today is the fact that only after a few days of use the right one literally just quit working. Never dropped, never stepped on, never damaged, synched in with my phone and working fine till it wasn't any more. This is far beyond what my patience will take. This is probably the worst-designed product of the Apple design team and it's a shame. They could've made it so much better simply by making them smaller and coating them with proper friction coating to stay inside the ear and not making their customers go out and experiment with a bunch of 3rd party ear hooks.

Disconnect and rarely work in both ears

I have to pair them at least once a week as they fail to function properly if I don’t, they constantly only play from one ear or malfunction while listening to them resulting in them playing only from one ear. This was the worst product I ever bought from Apple and I love Apple and own a lot of their products. Normally I would rate almost anything 5 start from Apple, these never worked properly. I bought a cheap Bluetooth set from a local store to replace them.

    Simply awesome

AirPods are simply awesome and are as good as advertised; if not better. I was worried to shell out serious cash for them especially after seeing several negative reviews, but glad I did. Couldn't be happier with another fantastic Apple product. Thanks.

    Phenomenal Sound, terrible fit

I know these fit fine for most people, but not my alien ears. The sound on these is phenomenal, the best i have ever heard on any wireless bluetooth earphones. This is not so much of a review, but a hope for apple to see this and maybe think of us lesser mortals. I can't even keep this in my ear while eating something, let alone exercising or running. I wish i could have the fit of my Bose Soundsport Free, and the sound of these. That would be the perfect earphone.
Envious of the people who have ears designed to hold these in.

    Just awesome

    Pros
    - Very small
    - Sound good (similar to the wired earpods)
    - Can use one or the other and leave one in the case to charge
    - Can use on all of your Apple devices and only pair once
    - They charge VERY fast in the case

    Cons
    - When using microphone constantly (gaming with chat), battery dies fast (couple hours)
    - Definitely easy to misplace them or drop them (I haven't lost one yet, but I can see this as a real possibility)
    - When moving between devices, it can take some time for them to connect to the new device

Every bit as good as people say

These headphones are simply awesome. Apple earbuds usually hurt my ears when wearing them for more than a few minutes, but not the AirPods. They are very comfortable, stay in place (magically?), pair perfectly and seamlessly with macos and iphone, and most importantly sound absolutely amazing. I couldn't be happier with the product.

    This are AMAZING

I love the sound quality. And the mic is so nice too! Everything about this alike except that the AirPods don’t have a way to fix the volume. But everything else is perfect. I highly recommend this product.

    Greatness always has haters...

I will be short and sweet. I did my research and wanted to purchase these 8 months ago. After reading the reviews on here and around the google (internet) I was convinced these wouldn't be worth it...If I could say one thing to all those who left negative reviews it would be...you all are clueless. The AIRPODS are awesome. Sure they don't cancel outside noise, but what headphones really do in the true sense of how noise cancelling is defined? I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the convenience, weightlessness, and simplicity. the sound is great, for in ear headphones...it's excellent. Don't listen to the negative reviews if you have been on the fence. They are definitely dope!

    Poor Fit, Good Sound Quality

The technical aspects of these head phones are great. Easy charging, intuitive and great sound.

Unfortunately they fit terribly in my ear and fall out easily. No good for the gym or walking around town. These will likely remain at my desk.

I would recommend trying these on before buying if you can.

    Hardware & software issues.

I have had my AirPods since July ‘17. I mainly use them with my iPhone X. Though the AirPods are paired, they don’t not connect to my phone effortlessly. I have to open and close the case several times before it’s linked. They would also disconnect from my phone without warning. They would die without the usual warning. Don’t get me wrong, I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT THEM. When they work, I’m in love. We just have a love/hate relationship.

    Great Durable Headphones

These headphones are great. From the sound to the design. I used them while riding my bicycle and hit a post, got hurt but my airpods stayed on and the music kept going.

    Don’t lose them

They are great, but no recovery feature if someone else pairs them with their device. One might think it would notify you if connected to a different iCloud account, but it doesn’t. Sadly mine are gone.
