great product design and execution...except hard to remove from case.

AirPods have great product design--typical Apple greatness--and execution as far as sound and mic pick up, but I find them to be extraordinarily difficult to remove from their case and have found battery life far less than I expect. (I have dry hands and fingers, but it still shouldn't be difficult to remove a product from its daily case.)

Also, while I know they connect to my iPhone, it's never really clear to me HOW to get them to connect when they don't connect automatically, which usually happens after I fool around with something (like opening and closing the case cover). Also, could be better way to learn remaining battery life.

Excitement ... turned quickly to Disappointment

I've waited months to get a pair of AirPods, and have friends who've loved theirs since December. I got the box home, opened them and put them both in after the amazingly easy pairing feature. But guess what... the right AirPod had/has no audio. Long story short, after self trouble shooting and having a 30 min Apple help chat with somebody (overseas), I was told that I have a hardware issue and need to go into a store. YAY!!! Two stars because the left AirPod worked fine and sounds good. BUT because I waited SO long, and then drove over 2 hours to pick them up from the only store I could find them near my house, minus 3 stars. Can't find any other stories of this issue which is so crazy. Hoping by the time I get to my Genius Bar appointment 2 days from now (first appointment they had), they will actually be fixable or have a pair immediately to replace them....

    They just came in today!

A few months ago, I had tried out the Jaybird Freedoms... and I hated them. Around the same time (seriously Apple, please ship these faster!!!), I ordered the Airpods. I had high expectations for these as I had already been using regular Earpods that came with my iPhone 6. Today, the I picked up the Airpods from the Apple Store after waiting for them to arrive for 6 weeks.

So far, they seem to connect like magic. The W1 chips works wonders, and it just makes the experience so much better. The charging case may initially look cheap, but it has this certain density to it that makes it worth the $159...

I would have liked to see a more elegant way (as opposed to Siri) to adjust volume just using hand gestures, sliding, etc., but I think this is a fair trade-off for the simplicity of this type of solution from Apple. It just works!

All in all, if you use your phone on the daily (who doesn't these days...), the same is true for your current earbuds, and you have enough money to shell out for these, then I say that it's a go!

    Home run

A typical Apple device: no wires, great design even for a first version, great functionality. Incredible battery life for the size/weight! They sound great, stay in the ear (no cable to pull them). The case is a joy to flip open and shut, recharges the AirPods very quickly and fits in jeans small pocket. After the iPhone, your second don't-leave-witout-it accessory!

    Almost had it....

I was so excited to get my AirPods. Took almost 6 weeks after i ordered to arrive. Everything was going fantastic, sounded great, call quality was crisp, stayed in my ear, setup was a piece of cake. Then they started to randomly lose connection to my iPhone 6s. Did it a few times while leaving a voice mail, then disconnected in the middle of a call, then disconnected 3x from the same call.

Thats when i pulled the plug on my purchase. I was within my 14 day refund period and so i reluctantly boxed them up and returned them. What a shame, they were almost perfect and then came the deal breaker of an issue.

Not sure what ultimately is causing it, but $172 for a headset isn't worth it when they are unreliable.

    Good But...

These are a great product and they have very smart technology buy for an £159 product, you would hope that they wouldn't be so easy to lose. I lost one of mine and they were still under-waranty but Apple didn't give me a refund or another AirPod! I am very dissapointed in Apple for that but they are very good!

My favorite wireless headsets! Lightweight, great sound, easy to use!

One of Apple's best new products. At first, you may feel that they might fall out of your ear but after a while you realize they do not and because they are so comfortable and lightweight at times you may even forget you are wearing them.

A volume control and skip forward/backward option would be nice but if you have the apple watch than it's not a problem. So easy to control with the apple watch.

Just love these because they connect so easily, have good sound, long battery life, no wires, and an adorable storage container.

I am saying goodbye to my Jaybird blue tooth headsets…they have been great till now!

Mine may be defective - Cuts on on phone calls, but much better for music

I actually don't have a problem with the sound quality of the original earpods with my iPhone 6S Plus. They are serviceable for what I do with them - phone calls and podcasts, and very comfortable fit in my ear as far as earbuds go.

Bluetooth was the main draw here, along with convenience and design by Apple.

Unfortunately since I use the phone a lot, I have found that the signal gets disrupted quite a lot in my use case. It may be that I have a ton of bluetooth devices paired, or too much interference. However this is the first pair of bluetooth headphones that I've had connectivity issues with even at close range on phone calls.

Strangely enough, no problems with music or podcast playback - only with phone calls.

Sending them back. May try another set and see...

I absolutely love these! Apple did an amazing job. I can't even feel them in my ears. The headphones that come with the iPhone always hurt my ears but these do not. They stay in no issues of them falling out and even the sound is great! You won't be disappointed.

I can't get over the wireless freedom

I have used wired headphone and earphones since my youth, and I have always felt the wires moving, getting caught and resonating in the earpiece, this is a completely new experience. After 1day I still catch myself trying to coordinate head movements with wires that are no longer there. And the sound is so cleeeeeaaaaannnn you get used to it, right away. Love it.

    Love them but...

Tried them in the store. Wore them for a bit, shook my head, the whole bit. They were comfortable and didn't budge. Got tired of waiting through apple and bought on amazon so no real return recourse. Easy pairing, sound as expected; but, all of a sudden the left one now falls out of my ear on a regular basis. Truly bummed as I really, really like them otherwise.

    Terrible buy

For the $159, the sound quality and volume are not up to par. The battery life of the pods and case is of last-gen horsepower. Quite disappointed. Won't recommend to a friend.

Apple Airpods, love them but needs volume control and the ability to skip tracks.

    Dear Apple,

I've been using mine for a couple of months and I've finally mastered enough commands to control my airpods using only Siri while listening to music and podcasts. Super useful when I'm cooking and have the iPhone nearby but when I go climbing, double tapping to invoke Siri is unsafe but because my iPhone is in my back pocket, it is unable to pick up my Hey Siri commands.

So, for future versions, please allow AirPods that, when worn, is able to listen for Hey Siri instead of going through the iPhone.

Also, please consider having an external sound amplification feature so I don't have to get hearing aids when I get older.

    Thank you for making AirPods.

Had my doubts about the look of the Airpods but having read so many good reviews decided to go for it. They are really remarkable in every way. The design is very much Apple, the case/charger is beautifully made and very clever, paired with my iPhone 7 in seconds and sounds very good. The range is excellent, I've had no problem with drop outs and can leave my 'phone in one room and wander around the house without losing connection (it's not a big house!). Expensive - yes, but no regrets and in my opinion worth it. Had considered Earin earbuds priced around £200, but so glad I waited for these. As for the look - I really don't care any more as I'm not having to look at myself wearing them, I'm just enjoying the experience!
