    Can't hear on a plane

I really wanted to like these. And they do a lot of things really well. But the deal-breaker was that I could hear anything on the plane. Too much noise gets around the plastic in the ear drum. Off the plane, they are great. They fit better than any Apple headphones I've ever used, they sound great, they stay in. But the noise on the plane didn't work. I also didn't get to try them on a treadmill to see whether they stayed in the ear while sweating.

    Incredible

I am very fussy about sound when it comes to music. The Air Pods deliver crystal clear sound. Base and treble are spot on. Comfortable to wear and yes they stay in your ears. Great for all kinds of workouts. Great charger and sync great with my IPhone 7 Plus. The perfect wireless ear buds completely without wires. As soon as you listen to them you will be hooked.

    Incredible performance!

Right out of the package, just like with many Apple devices, this feels like a premium piece of work. Seamlessly syncs with iPhone 7 and Apple Watch, both running latest firmware. Sounds crystal clear and respond immediately upon placing AirPods in the ear. Very snug design, although it may not fit all ears. Great purchase! About to buy a second pair for the lady!

    Seriously awesome, magical

I love these little AirPods so much. I’m writing this review for my whole family because we all now own them, and let me tell you, they are great! They work so well with our iPhones (iPhone 7 Plus, 6s and 6). Just a simple one-time connect and you’re ready to listen to your music. They fit perfectly in our ears and they NEVER fall out from working out, running on the treadmill, daily walking or head banging to music. On a single charge they last a very long time, as long as you have the AirPods case charged they pretty much never run out of battery. Sometimes when you double tap to activate Siri it has a short lag and it may not hear you correctly. But other than that, they look sleek, stylish and very futuristic. If you are ready for simple, easy to use, Bluetooth, cord-free headphones these are perfect!

cool concept but does not work properly.

Does not pair as easily as advertised. I wish it just pared with my phone like all other Bluetooth devices.
When placed in my ear it does not turn on about 20% of the time.
They loose connectivity to my phone about 20% of the time while I am talking.

I like the case and the design.

yes, they work great for running

Love these things. My biggest question when buying was if they would stay in my ear while running. After wearing for 2 weeks and running about 30 miles I would say they stay in better than any headphone I've tried, both wired and wireless.

Exactly what I was looking for!

I got these because I wear them while I work. I need to be able to hear what's going on around me, in case someone comes by my desk. I was initially concerned about the sound quality but that quickly diminished after effortlessly connecting these to my iPhone. They sound amazing for not completely sealing the ear canal. I thought the bass would suffer but it sounds just fine to me.

I've shown the paring and connection process, by opening the case, to several people and they are all impressed. My only wish on these was that they had integrated some silicon inserts or something into the part that sits against your hear because after a while they do get a little uncomfortable. Thankfully with interruptions and other things going on at work that is a rarity.

All in all I love these things!

    Does not stay put

I was so eager to get these after reading reviews that stated they stayed in the ear even when running for some. After working with them over and over they still will not stay put in my ears. The connection is great and the sound is ok but I can’t get them to stay in one place to save my life. Must be my ears. I think they are normal, but guess not. I would return them for refund because as an ear phone to me they are worthless. I gone past the 14 days just trying to get them to work so I’m stuck with a $150+ purchase that is of no use to me. If I want to keep putting them in place over and over I can use them some, but if I get up and walk around they fall down, don’t want to run them down into my ear canal, don’t they they would go anyway. So give them a good tryout during the 14 day refund time.

    WOW! Even Better than thought

Well, I was finally able to score a pair at the apple store. After watching tons of reviews to set my exceptions to the right level. I was blown away when I first used them. I knew the W1 chip was great and rock solid as I have been using beast Solo3 with the W1 chip for when I travel on planes. These are just as rock soild of a connection. I was walking around downtown Chicago with them and ZERO connection problems. Now for the sound i feel they sound much better than EarPods which I didn't mind for everyday but where lacking in the bass and clearness. AirPods have fixed those issues, sure they aren't top of the line but it would be crazy to expect that at this price point from anyone. Considering high end wired (not even wireless) cost $300 plus for earbuds.

I have tried the powerbeats which are very nice but these are so easy and convenient to bring with you anywhere. The true wireless is a nice step up and not having the wire going from left to right makes a big difference. AirPods have quickly become my go to pair for every day.

These are the perfect headphones for everyday a commuting as they are easy to toss in your pocket and keep charged with the charging case. Plus they allow you to hear whats around you and not block it all out. Which is not safe if you are walking around outside and in a city. They are very comfortable and fit me well and secure. Sure they might not fit everyone but if they fit you, you will love them It takes some time getting used to realizing they aren't going to fall out. I found myself the first day checking to see if they moved, but they never did. Over time you just forget they are there. WIRELESS FREEDOM IS AMAZING! As Apple would say, simply Magical!

P.S for those saying not having physical buttons is downside i disagree. If you have and apple watch you can use it as the remote and it a much better remote since you can control everything in your music library from it. All with out pulling out your phone. SWEET!! Pays to be apple loyal!

My favorite headphones (and I have a lot)

After a few weeks with my AirPods, I am very impressed and rarely use anything else. There's a lot to be said for convenience and simplicity. Plus, they are soooo much more comfortable than shoving silicone or foam into my ear canals. Sure, they don't sound AS good as my wired Audeze Sine's or wireless P7s, but, as I'm no a big bass-head, the audio quality is surprisingly good (my tastes run from 70s prog rock through melodic alt to edgier classical). Highs and mids are clear and crisp and the bass is realistic (no booming). The sound stage is shockingly good – likely due to their open air design. Pushing them into the ear canal slightly does boost bass, but reduces the width and dimensional nature of the soundstage. The midrange clarity is also diminished a bit. Airpods are obviously designed to use the shape of the ear to create a reasonably accurate audio experience. The best thing about them is the fact that – for me anyway – its almost like the music is just magically appearing in my ears. I hardly notice they're there after awhile. They're almost as light as... air.

    Great but falls out sometimes

The AirPods are great. I just wish that they could fit a little more. I've always had a problem with apple earpods, but these fit a little better. Maybe make them a little more sticky? I don't know. I would just like to see them fit better.

    1st class product, beautifully designed.

I've had my airpods for a month now, lucky to get them so quickly in Chichester.
I love music, and have tried much cheaper Bluetooth earphones, all of which were not good when compared to the airpods, they are PERFECT for me! I have had no issues from their design, falling out zero times. They sync pretty well, though to change from IPad to Apple Watch can sometimes need to select them in the watch Music app, and then airplay then connect to AirPods before they properly connect -a very small issues because it always works.
Their range is quite amazing in the house, upstairs with AirPods, music on iPhone downstairs without issue. Apple Watch to AirPods is my favourite connection because the volume is right there on my wrist, as is track selection. I have not really used Siri from my AirPods, because it's not necessary for me! By these and an Apple Watch!

IMO - The Best Wireless Option in the Market

I tried four different pairs of wireless last year. The Jaybird X2 sounded OK but the fit was just dreadful - they kept falling off. The fit of Bose SoundSport Wireless was better, but it was also bulkier & the bluetooth connectivity dropped off regularly. The B&O H5 sounded great but they kept falling off also. The sound of PowerBeat 3 was just too bass heavy. AirPod is nearly perfect. The sound is more neutral than PowerBeats but not as clear as B&O. They fit me perfectly. Just completed a 5 hrs workout (3 hours bike ride + a 2 hours run). They stay fit during the entire time. They fit perfectly under a bike helmet & didn't interfere with the sunglasses. They never felt loose during the run even when I was sweating heavily. Not once was there a drop-off. After 5 hrs. there was 3% left on the battery. So far the only issue has been working with Siri - there is a bit of lag.

Use them for working out, running, biking. Gorgeous sound, great connectivity. They simply work. Used them on a flight yesterday and the volume was perfect. Do yourself a favor and get yourself one of these.

    Brilliant engineering on this product

Like Steve Jobs once said the just work. I love these and are my daily driver but mind you I have a few different pair of headphones that I use and they are slowly becoming my favourite. Very comfortable to use, they stay in your ear and never fall off. Best thing is they are very light weight and you won't even know that they are even there. I love using them, they sync seamlessly to all my Apple devices. The battery life is exactly what Apple says and I have never had any issues with these at all.

    Wireless, the way to go

The AirPods are truly incredible, but before we get to that lets talk about the EarPods. The EarPods weren't long enough, had low volume, and took 5 minutes to untangle the cord. All of these troubles are fixed with the AirPods. If you connect the AirPods by opening the case near your device, then it connects to every apple device with the same iCloud login. If the regular EarPods fit you then there won't be any problem with these, they have the same dimensions, and with louder volume. If you double tap on either AirPods then you can access Siri, pause the music or just not use it at all. or if you want to look cooler, just take out one AirPods and the music/video will pause by itself. The downsides are the case is very slippy, so it can slide out easily from a hand or pocket. When in public it makes you look like you're an alien but I guess you wouldn't care. After a long time of listening it can be uncomfortable but it takes at least 2 hours to get to that point. Overall the AirPods are a massive improvement from the EarPods and I would recommend them.
