While they’re a bit on the pricey side they do work very well, I love the fact they pause your music or YouTube or whatever when you take one out. They’re really comfortable and stay put even when I’m running, I will say that the audio quality isn’t as good as my Ultimate Ears or Beats Tours which both cost less but the quality is more than good enough and worth it for the wireless freedom! They also work really well for phone calls. Definitely a good purchase!

Now if only there was a Black option!

    The best among wireless earphones

The best among wireless earphones but my biggest complaint was the fit could be hit or miss and no option to add support incase you were running and you wanted a snug fit

Very good product but a major defect

These are so convenient and useful, yet after a few months the sound in the left earbud became very noticeably quieter. The sound was unbalanced and awkward because one ear was louder and clearer than the other. So much so that I had to get it replaced. Good customer service but I have had this same problem with the basic apple earbuds as well multiple times where the sound will essentially fail in one ear. I fear it is only a matter of time before the replacement does the same thing.

Best overall wireless buds...charging pod is genius (will now trend)

AirPods the #1 reason I have bought into wireless earbuds/headphones. We are an Apple ecosystem family for the most part (4 iPhones, Apple TV, two MB/MBP, MacMini, multiple AirExpress for airplay around the house) but still have to deal with Windows for work. Music and quality music/audio is important to me so deciding to buy these came with some consternation so I decided to "gift" AirPods to my wife (she loves it now). Well, I started using her AirPods for a few days while I took a few days off work and that's when I was turned onto the AirPods. If you are an apple household, there's no doubt, like with most apple products, this is the wireless earbuds to get (even with some drawbacks, see below) for it's it's seamless integration with other apple products. My only experience in using it with outside of apple ecosystem is with my work laptop on Windows 10. It works fine for listening to music, pair and works relatively well when I'm at work but has issues using as a mic (see below Skype issue). I have never been in a situation where I have listened to music for more than 5 hours and even with wired earbuds/headhones, I generally takes breaks as I get sound/music fatigue.

    Background on my listening preferences/habits:
    1. I listen to just about everything...for me music is about mood (yes, there are a few genre's that I don't care for but I'm very open for the most part)
    2. I invest in quality audio products for my home audio, earbuds and headphones as I like to enjoy good audio when I do decide to listen
    3. I have/still own AKG k7xx series headphones, Senn 5xx series, Phillips Fidelio x2, various earbuds but my favorite for years has been the Klipsch x10)

What can be better with AirPods (lost of a star):
    1. Audio quality - It's good enough, not great. I have read some reviews with various opinions on comparison to the wired EarPods that come with iPhones. AirPods might be a touch better but not sure if in real world outside, it makes a difference so to me, they are about the same
    2. Noise isolation - I "think" this is an area where trade-offs come to mind. Although I like ability to hear the surrounding environment, it's not very good in noisy situations (think airplanes and noisy coffee shops). Probably one of the reason it's more comfortable in the long run than earbuds that completely block out noise like my Klipsch x10. This is one of my biggest complaint about AirPods.
    3. Doesn't work with Skype on Windows 10 - I was hoping to be able to pick up calls while listening to music at work but no go. You can read online describing the issues but believe the primary cause is the W1 chip compatibility with Windows. Works for music so another compromise.
    4. Not 100% seamless across apple devices - although it works well and most of the time is not an issue, I have encounter some occasion issues after switching between iPhone, MacBook and Windows that it gets "weird out". Nothing a turn on/off of bluetooth doesn't fix but not seamless.

Overall, I am very pleased and complete happy with my decision to buy a set for my own after testing with my wife's set. Charging pod is genius, absolute genius...next two years, all manufacturers will have charging pods for their own earbuds. To me, technology is about compromises to how things currently operate and can be discomforting but there are many positives that you just don't anticipate and can become a complete surprise, in a good way and the AirPods fit that category.

    Can’t find a downside!

Battery lasts for a couple days of heavy use without needing a charge. It’s compact, it stores in your pocket. It’s simple, you slide them in and that’s it. They have a good sound. The easy pairing fo my IPhone is awesome. With my Apple Watch, IPhone, and AirPods, I can seamlessly jump back and forth with ease. Fair price compared to others. This product is quality through and through. Would recommend a hundred times over!

Bought for making calls, but use for everything.

I already had a pair of nice over-ear headphones that I used for music and while running/at the gym. I bought these primarily to use as a wireless headset for phone calls because I head great things about them. Very surprised by the sound quality though, and they have good volume. Also, they really stay in my ears well. I can run at any pace or workout and they stay nice and snug in my ears. These will probably be all I use now.

The ease of use with these is amazing. Very cool product Apple, two thumbs up.

Has a difficult time connecting and hardly works with non-Apple products

Reluctantly purchased these when I had ordered an iPhone 7 because of the lack of a headphone jack.

These headphones have a really difficult time pairing with my iPhone. I would often need to take them out of my ear and put them back in the case to "refresh" them which also hardly ever fixed it. It also has a super rough time switching between my iPhone and Mac.

I got rid of my iPhone and instead bought a Pixel 2, when I try to use these headphones with that phone they cut out / glitch non-stop. Now I can't even hear anything if the volume is below 50% on my phone.

If you want to use the microphone you can only use the right earpod as the left doesn't have a microphone.

The battery hardly lasts 3 hours on a single charge.

You could honestly get a pair of $30 wireless headphones that sound and work better elsewhere. Don't waste your time or money on these faux-luxury headphones.

    heavy and painful in ears

I found them too heavy - like a heavy pebbles stuck in my ears. Unlike the nice, light normal in-ear pods I am used to. The airpods felt unwieldly and uncomfortable. Gave me earache and a headache after a short while, which lasted into the next day. The sound quality was average.

    Best Purchase

I use these with my MacBook Air, Apple Watch, and my iPhone and the usability and compatibility with the software. My only issue is when I activate Siri by double tapping when connected to my Mac and the equalizer gets messed up and the quality of the music I was listening to it loud and distorted for a few seconds and then it fixes itself. I only have that issue and these are still my favorite purchase from Apple!

    Disappointed by the hardware quality

After unboxed the AirPod notice that the lid was really loose could be moved from left to right, got it replaced straight away. The second one was better but still has the same issue. And inside the AirPod case was kind of dirty. It doesn’t seem like a new product to me at all. Really disappointed, was expecting something better then this. However the sound quality isn’t that bad

    I love them!

I think this low key product might be the most valuable Apple product that I own, next to my iPhone! Haven’t thought about buying another pair of headphones since I purchased these. Can’t wait for version 2.

    Three Months And Dead.

I have had the AirPods for three months and they are simply dead. They will not charge. I spend a lot of money on Apple products. This is the first time I have been unhappy.

    The best portable EarPods

It work seamless and to the high standards of Apple. I’ve been having it since it first came out had no problem. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5/5 is the isolation not really great and the connection not 100% reliable

They are amazing just one problem...

I love having these amazing earphones, I have never experienced another earphone like it. The battery last a long time as well as the battery for the case. The volume is not bad and the sound is pretty good. I also have had many times to when the new W1 chip has come in handy. The pairing is amazing on my phone, yet I wish the pairing when connecting them to my iMac was much more streamline when opening it. Overall I love this product and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a wireless earphone.
