    Useless

Don't buy it, it's does not work with iPhone 7 plus even after updates ...

    Horrible design

I wonder why Apple made this a thing and then realized it was to put more money in their pocket. This is a poor feature for a phone that is going to cost a whole months rent and to be honest Apple could have done better. When in the twentieth century did I have to pick between listening to music and charging my phone?! Not to mention it is not compatible for all off brand so good luck spend an arm and a leg on Apply gear.

    Does what it's supposed to

This does exactly what it's supposed to do. I didn't need it badly (since - cmon - who doesn't have bluetooth headphones these days?) but my car ONLY has a cd/cassette - no aux or lightning connectors - so I have to use a cassette adapter with my phone in the car. No problem - this device just stays attached to the cassette adapter and I plug the phone into its lightning connector.

    Works fine for me...

Got an iPhone 8 Plus. Came with this dongle. Has worked great so far (4 months) with all my headphones and earbuds. Even the microphones work, and again, this is across several different pairs of wired headphones. Despite all the negative reviews, I just can't jump on the bandwagon and say I hate this product. I actually am going to purchase a couple more of these, because the only negative I see with this is that is does appear rather fragile and may need replacing a little sooner rather than later. Checked on Amazon, and too many problems with counterfeit products. I'd rather stick with what I know to be a genuine Apple product. While I recognize the inconvenience... Sound quality has been phenomenal and like I said, my microphones work. If I am truly the only one for whom this adapter works, then... I am grateful.

Broken after 2 months of infrequent use - utterly rubbish product.

I was fairly sceptical of this as a workaround for the missing headphone jack and unfortunately, my scepticism proved to be well-founded. Replacements cost £10, so I'm hoping Apple will reimburse the cost of this faulty, cheaply made, trashy product. Very disappointed.

    Total POS

Typical of Apple with adapters/power/etc. Extremely bad design, less functionality and miserable quality.

Makes clicking noises with Turtle Beach headphones

Just tried two different Tutle Beach headphones and it makes clicking noises through music every 2 or so seconds on both of them. I tried different insertion points and found that if you pull it out about 1mm, the clicking stops. So, if I am to use this connector, I will need to spent time adjusting the depth of insertion to just the right place where the clicking stops. Not something I am willing to do. Also, the connector is so tiny it is so easy to lose on a plane when you are switching between your phone and the plane speaker jack. I already lost two. They fell out of bags easy when you move back under the seat in front of you etc. I can't charge the phone and listen to my music on the plane.

    Terrible craftsmanship, stupid concept.

I’ve already gone through 3 of them... they inevitably fall apart with regular use. I’m so tired of apple screwing us. Never thought I’d miss my iPhone 6 but I want my headphone jack back.

Extremely poor design. So inconvenient, so irritating.

I strongly dislike this ridiculous design. I can't plug my phone into a sound jack without a stupid little adapter. The adapter is an extreme inconvenience and DOES NOT NEED TO EXIST AT ALL if Apple had simply designed the phone properly. Why does Apple do this kind of thing just to get some millimeters of thinness? This makes my phone unusable in a number of settings. Not everything is wireless!!!!

    Randomly Disconnects

This thing randomly Disconnects itself when listening to music, sitting completely still with absolutely no movement it just stops. Complete garbage! Apples worst idea and product ever! You would think with all the bad reviews they would try to care for the customer, seems to not be the case.

Terrible product - bring back the normal jack

This past week, I've been using this adapter and it keeps stopping my music every 20 seconds, skipping songs, restarting songs and turning on Siri. I don't know why this is happening, but I hope that Apple fixes this issue. I am a college student, I'm quite broke and I don't have the money to constantly be buying these adapters!

    iPhone Audio Quality is Horrible

Nice job apple. Your new headphone connector picks up cell signal and other interference. I can't use my 120 Gb phone for music anymore this device is useless. Will not buy apple again moving to Andoid after having been with iPhone since 2006.

    Poor

First time reviewer but not happy - two of these have broken within the space of a few months - they are fine when they work, but I do not want to be spending £9.00 every few months. The 3.5mm headphones worked fine. Given I mostly use my device for music on the go I am seriously reconsidering moving to another company.

    Fail

Glad Apple got to save 20¢ by not adding a phone jack to the iPhone but this is lame.
I tried to live with it but I've already lost 2 of these. I never have the adapter when I need it.
I bought another one that stoped working 2 weeks later.
Who wants to carry around a dongle with them at all times?
I travel a lot and often can't play music in rental cars, hotels, friends house, etc.
I've invested in nice headphones that are now inconvenient to use.
Hate it. I'm looking at other phones.

    Terrible Connection

After having used multiple different sets of earphones with this jack, it functions terribly. I'm not sure if this is a problem others have had, but when I use this, the jack causes my iPhone to send the wrong information. Here's what I mean. I'd be walking around (this was before I finally gave up on trying to use the jack) and my phone would turn Siri on without me pressing for it. It would often skip songs (an input that it would seem to give without me ever pressing the button for it on my phone). I really hated using this and have just switched to a wireless headphone set ($20) that works much better than this does at all.

Makes my music sound like rubbish

Had this phone less than a few months, got the dongle that came with the phone. I also bought new headphones around the same time and everything ws fine until I started to hear static in my music and it kept cutting in and out, something was definitely wrong. After troubleshooting literally everything from my phone to my headphones, and yelling at the company that made my headphones, I realized that the problem is in this stupid ****ing dongle. It makes my music sound like *** and it made me think my brand new headphones are faulty. I hate that I can't charge and listen to music at the same time! I hate that I am forced to use this product!! I would give 0 stars if I could!!

Apple made my AKG's sound like garbage.

This adapter is an embarrassment. My previously brilliant sounding AKG's sound like garbage BEATS headphones now. Maybe that's Apple's plan to level the playing field. Plugged into my PC monitor headphone out port, the AKGs still sound brilliant, but not from my new iPhone X, no sir. Can't set the audio bar too high you know, we still have BEATS to sell.

    I hate this

If only 0 stars was an option. I really don't understand why this terrible new feature exists...except that it clearly serves the purpose of financial gains for Apple at the expense of customers since now they really can't use anything other than Apples adapter to utilize audio. This is obnoxious and unnecessary since there is clearly room for a headphone jack. I love when I forget my adapter on long trips and am totally SOL without it. even better is the fact that I can't charge my phone and listen to audio at the same time. A real winner here! Obviously I could go on a long rant about this but basically it blows and I'm excited to convert to a Google phone in the near future. Apple is going downhill sadly...but they did it to themselves. Thanks a lot apple...pause... NOT
