    Worst Apple product

So Smart Keyboard , worst piece of Apple style over substance I have ever used. The connector never connects, the keyboard feel is not a patch on my old Logitech keyboard.
Sadly this is a waste of time and I have to resort to using my old iPad on the road once more. So feel like the £1k spent on pad pencil etc a waste of momey. Come on Apple up the game we don’t all worship at the shrine of Jobs

    No case!

I bought this keyboard knowing that it was not a full case. (It folds up covering only the screen and has no edge protection) What I did not know was that no cases work with the keyboard. So I have to remove my case each time I want to use my keyboard! Very poor design! Thinking about modifying my case somehow...

    No foreign characters!!

Nice keyboard, but nowhere did the description warn me in advance that there were no foreign characters/accents available when typing with it!! Useless for a full time translator ...

Not the "international" standard I was expecting from Apple ...

Nice Keyboard but letters on keys wear off before 1 year

I enjoy the touch. I like the how slim and sturdy the keyboard is. I like the dual purpose cover/keyboard. Backlighting? It'd be nice but the brightness of the iPad can help with that and the cost would rise a lot. What I don't like is the letters on the keys have worn off in a year. Yeah, I can buy the standard stickers but that ruins the texture/feel. I don't even use my iPad all day for work. Just at night and weekends. I can only imagine if I used it all day.

    iPad Pro Smart Keyboard

Honestly speaking, I really love the design of the new Smart keyboard, but Apple made a big flaw by not adding the backit. I think Apple should implement haptics touch keys for their next design and have a option in the settings to choose the best haptic touch for your keys just like the iphone 7 & 7 plus.

    Where's the backlighting??

I was all set to purchase this keypad as soon as the 10.5" version hit the market, but I changed my mind for one big reason--no backlighting. Seriously? Is that too hard to do for a company that makes the most innovative phones & tablets on the market?? Come on Apple. Step it up! And while you're at it, add a pencil holder.

    Lovely keyboard if it lasted

These keyboards are fantastic to use when they are working. I like the feel of the keys to type on and light weight cover for the iPad. I agree a holder for the pencil would be useful. My issue is I have had 2 keyboards now and owned an iPad pro for 18 months, neither have lasted more than 9 months - the keys stop being picked up by the iPad and i get a symbol that says this accessory is not compatible. Its alot of money for so short a lifespan. Im currently looking for alternative solutions that may last a little longer.

    Constantly Loses Typing Connectivity

While I love the look and feel of the new keyboard for the 10.5-inch iPad Pro, it constantly loses typing connectivity. The only way to continue typing is to detach it from the iPad and then reattach. Then it works, but soon loses connectivity again. Very frustrating! If this is not a manufacturing defect, then I can't recommend this product at all. I will be returning it to the Apple Store soon to see what can be done, or to get a replacement, if possible. Difficult to find information on returns.

    Wish We Could Post Pictures

After trying two Smart Keyboards I am giving up and returning the iPad Pro 10.5. The front edge stands up 1/4-3/8" on both, making typing a chore. You either live with the bouncing or try to hold down the keyboard to type on it.

Finally I can replace my laptop with an iPad!

Between the new power of the iPad Pro 10.5”, the new iOS, and this keyboard, I have 99% of the functionality I need to completely replace my keyboard while on the road. This is an inflection point for me.

The keyboard is light and the keys are responsive. The choice of key functions are powerful. The keyboard works perfectly with a regular back cover to enclose the machine and keep it safe. I started with the Logitech keyboard, which was functionally great, but so much heavier. I much prefer Apple’s keyboard! Since it requires NO charging, it is ALWAYS ready. Love it!

    Excellent note taker

I have used my macbook pro around campus and while it’s a great workhorse, it’s a pain to haul around, the battery life isn’t great, and it’s a chore to use on the tiny desks we have for lectures. I tried a microsoft surface and surface pro, but the kickstand on them made it even harder to use on those tiny desks. Enter the ipad pro. The keyboard on this is short and forward, and the ipad is propped up closer to me than the back of the desk. I can easily fit this on college lecture class desks. I have never found a good device for these settings until now.

The lack of backlit keyboards is an issue in classes where the lights are out for projectors, though. The keys can also be very loud. I have to be careful how I type when using this keyboard so I don’t disturb those around me. It’s doable, and light typing doesn’t cause keys to miss, but being used to really beating down on my keyboards, it’s annoying. I also wish they had them in different colors, but that’s not really a functional problem. Propping the ipad up with this keyboard folded back makes it unstable too. Surprisingly, you CAN use this in your lap, since the viewing angle on the ipad is so wide.

If you are in college and need a good device for around campus use, get this keyboard! It’s not as bulky as the others, but it definetly adds heft, so skip the larger ipad if you plan on getting this keyboard.

Does not lie flat despite what all of Apple's photos depict

It's a good keyboard and more useful than I expected. In fact, I think a keyboard is essential for making iPad a viable general purpose computer, and this one could be great.

HOWEVER, it does not lie flat. This is either a manufacturing flaw or a design flaw or both. This flaw is distracting and quite irritating. It does not match the photos of the product in Apple's marketing material, and therefore does not meet my expectations.

Apple should acknowledge the problem, and fix it and voluntarily exchange out old for new ones.

    Great Keyboard!

I have had two of these and I love both.

I have seen some complaints about the keyboard being propped up about 1/4 of an inch, and yes, I have experienced that on one of them, which is weird. It isn't a big problem because when you type the keyboard does lay flat.

    Love It

A great keyboard, super thin and light. Keys have a good feel, only medium protection for the iPad.

Works perfectly, lays flat, protects the screen when closed.

I was worried reading some reviews about the keyboard not laying flat or that it would be difficult to use. I had no problems. I work on a computer all day and use a mechanical keyboard so I was worried how this type of keyboard would feel. No problem! Very easy to use and get use to. I have had no issues with typing on it, the keyboard not laying flat when using or closing (feels and looks just like a regular case cover when closed). VERY well made. You won't be sorry if you want your ipad pro to double as a laptop when needed. It does add some weight to the overall iPad but how is that not expected? Just buy it.

Completely overpriced - even for Apple standards

The keyboard is of very inferior quality if compared to 3rd party products. The overall feel is extremely cheap. It does not cover your iPad smoothly, and when used on an even desk surface it is wobbly rather than flat.
The only good point, with it being an Apple product, it works flawlessly with the iPad from the first minute.
However, it is nowhere near worth the crazy amount of money Apple is asking for!

    Keyboard does not lie flat

I am very disappointed with the keyboard. The weight of the iPad pulls the keyboard up about a quarter inch from the table, so that it bounces when I type. This is not what I would expect from Apple. I'm returning it and looking for a different product.
