    Great Keyboard!

The reviews here all all over the map. I suppose everyone has their experience and perspective but some of the comments I find a bit hard to understand. I bought mine at an Apple Store, it was not bent, it sits perfectly flat on my desktop, no wobbles, and I see no indications that it is going to bend in the middle. I suppose if you are sitting on the couch with this in your lap and have a really heavy keystroke ... maybe. Yes, it sits quite flat, just as past versions, and there is no provision to tilt it but frankly I find the typing position to be very much to my liking. With forearms flat on the desk my hands fall naturally to the keyboard, no issues there though I will say that I use a folded towel under my wrists that cushion and raise them by perhaps a half an inch. The keystroke is not as nice as the fantastic keyboard on the new MPB but very similar to past apple keyboards I've owned. We'll give it a few hundred hours of use for a final verdict but "all good" at the moment. Blue tooth pairing was quick and easy and after several days I've not had any issues with losing connectivity.

So yes, it's bloody expensive but it works exactly as I had expected it to, looks good on the desk, and the numeric keypad is an absolute essential if you do a lot of spreadsheet work. So I give 5 stars after a week of use and will come back with a long term review a couple months down the track.

Bad design leads to warped keyboard - not worthy of the apple brand

After a relatively short amount of time, my keyboard warped which meant on a glass table the thing would spin back and forth

Returned it to the apple store where, from entering the shop to leaving with a replacement, took 80 mins!

Not Bent, but still with flaws

Would have been five stars if it didn't have the same delay on the Caps Lock key that my other Magic Keyboard also had.

It worked perfectly as a wired keyboard but then developed the 'feature' after I had synced it with my Mac. This is really annoying, and slows down my typing speed massively as I inevitably have to go back and correct letters which appear as lower case but should be upper case!

    I expect more from Apple

Keyboard's fine, keys work as expected. The pairing with my MacBook Pro, however is very poor. If the Bluetooth connection is ever lost due to range I have to reboot my MacBook before I can re-establish a connection. I expect more from a $130.00 Keyboard and $3000.00 laptop. Very disappointing.

Don't know what other people are talking about!

Keyboard works as advertised, good feel, perfect condition!

    Uncomfortable and lacks tactile feel

It is very difficult to type rapidly on this keyboard. The poorly designed board and keys are too flat. Even with the custom designed stand available from Amazon, it is not ergonomic and it is too easy to slip onto the lower row if you are not watching the keys. Having to watch keys slows things down considerably.

    It bends...

This keyboard bends in the middle after a few months use. It needs 2 extra feet in the middle to support typing without bending.

I like having the number pad but fear this is not a high quality product made for prolonged use.

    Warped + Bluetooth Blues

Do Not Purchase. I've tried two and both had the same issues: The Bluetooth kept losing connectivity and I would have to turn it on and off constantly to get it to reconnect. The E and R keys functioned intermittently. The caps lock key with green indicator light would sporadically stop working. Intermittent delayed response while typing. I've spent hours on the phone with Apple tech support trying to resolve the issues I was having with the first keyboard but without resolution, so Apple agreed to ship me a replacement keyboard. I received what looked to be a refurbished keyboard, installed it, and immediately experienced the same problems. Both keyboards are warped, bowed up at both ends. Demanded a refund from Apple today.

    Almost Unusable

Was looking forward to an Apple bluetooth keyboard with a 10 key so quickly ordered this when it became available. The first thing I noticed is that there is almost no angle to this keyboard and no way to adjust it. This probably going back to Apple and I'll pull the wired keyboard back out.

    Finally

Really loving this keyboard. I am not having any issues others have experienced--no bending and angle of keyboard. Using this product with my iMac 27 (mid 2015) and running Sierra. So far, no problems.

    Arrived Damaged--Bent / Bow / Bend

Keyboard arrived with a bend in the aluminum housing. If it wasn't ~$140 (tax included), I wouldn't complain. I expect a perfect product for premium prices.

    Junk keyboard

With $5000.00 computer I got this flat, no backlit light keyboard...piece of Junk....Apple making joke of people...where did all the Apple Engineers go? People deserve more with such a big machine. Apple has to hire better Engineers than MBAs. It is an insult for customers.

The Left Shift Key and Return `have Moved!

I have been waiting weeks for mine to arrive. I read some of the more recent reviews and was worried I would get a bent Keyboard, but took the chance that it would be ok. Yes it looks completely flat. No issues there. It has built in batteries, so I'm not sure if they are replaceable. I can't see how you can. There is no compartment. The angle of the keyboard seems fine for me.

The only first up issue is the Shift key on the left has moved further away, which makes it harder to stretch your hand to do capitals! I tend to use the shift key a lot. But never use the `~ keys. Why? Keep it consistent. I need to keep looking down to make sure I have hit the right key the first few times. Saying that the return key has also moved further away. I guess I will get used to it. ```\\\\

Apart from that it seems ok. Took a long time to arrive and when it did, it was in a massive box 20x the size of the keyboard, with absolutely nothing to stop it moving around inside the box. Either they have run out of boxes, or some people have no idea how to pack. When I got my iPhone X, it was nicely packed so it wouldn't move, or get damaged.

`here `i go hitting the wrong keys again\\

    Not Bent!

I was going to buy this keyboard in November -I'd always wanted it since it was announced. I decided not to because of the many negative reviews concerning bowing. The device then became unavailable - everywhere - for a few weeks. I suspect that Apple were working to correct the issue. The keyboard came back into stock again in mid-Dec 2017 and I bought it. Just one example, I know, but this copy is perfect - no issues at all. Dropped a star because the price is nuts. I'll report back if any bending issues materialise.

    Bent - BUT EASILY FIXED!

Mine arrived bent along with lots of others by the looks of it - I hadn't read all these reviews at the time and couldn't be bothered to return it so put it over my knee and applied light pressure to either end; now fixed, doesn't rock, sits flat and works perfectly!

Obviously this shouldn't be necessary with such a premium priced product but nevertheless it worked and saved me a 70 mile round trip to the Apple Store!

    Not that great

While it's nice to type on, the keyboard feels woefully cheap. Nothing like the old wired keyboard. The aluminum bents like cheese, and it my particular keyboard doesn't seem to lay flat on any surface. Haven't decided on whether to keep or return. Works wired without blueooth.

    Complete disappointment

This keyboard is so nice when it works but I have to turn it off and back on several times a day to get it to actually work. It is so incredibly frustrating to start typing on a BRAND NEW KEYBOARD and nothing happens until I turn it off and back on. Waste of money big time. I wish I had gone with a non-Apple version and I am so surprised at what a terrible flaw this is and why they are still selling this keyboard.

    What on earth is §?

I often use CMD+` to tab between screens with in an application. But now this key (normally next to the 1) is now § - I don't even know what this is. I use the Magic Keyboard with my MacBook Pro and the ` key is in the normal place next to the 1. So to tab between screens in the same application I have to recall two different key combinations. Very annoying. Also the shape of the Return key (in the main keyboard, not the secondary Enter key in the numerical pad). The shape of this has changed from double horizontal to double vertical. Again different shape to the MacBook Pro keyboard. Leave well enough alone Apple!

    Great functionality but badly bowed

Shame and a disappointment when you spend £130.00 on a keyboard to find that it is badly bowed. It works great but one does not expect to have quality issues in this price bracket. I would return it for an exchange but suspect that this is how they all are judging by the percentage of reviews detailing this fault.

What happened to the WIRED expanded keyboard

Please bring back the basic, no-nonsense $50 WIRED keyboard. As a desk-bound iOS developer, I do not need the wirelessness of the Magic keyboard. Better to have a durable/replaceable keyboard for my office. And I love the USB connectors on the old wired keyboard, for charging phone, headphones, or connecting USB thumb drive, right where it's most convenient.

And at $129, ugh, it misses the mark.
