Worst design of an Apple product that I've encountered

Let me begin by saying that the original Magic Mouse was and is my all-time favorite mouse, hands down. I love it, and would easily give it 5 stars. But the Let me begin by saying that the original Magic Mouse was and is my all-time favorite mouse, hands down. I love it, and would easily give it 5 stars. But then they "upgraded" it to the Magic Mouse 2. For all the ingenious designs that Apple has come up with, how did they ever manage to think up the idea of putting the recharging port on the bottom of the mouse, which makes it completely useless while recharging! All the designers would have needed to do is look at a corded mouse: put the recharging port on the front... and voila! A rechargeable cordless mouse that can temporarily function as a corded mouse while its being recharged! Seriously Apple, how did no one see this problem? I am very disappointed in you guys on this one. I'm sure Steve is too.

The feel of the mouse, the functionality, the build quality are all class-leading... but who in the world thought that sticking the charging port on the base of the mouse was a good idea?! And not allowing the mouse to be used whilst being charged? Seriously?! WHY? What a stupid thing to do Apple. What does someone do when they're working and their mouse runs out? Am I expected to buy two of these things??? Aargh. Here's a solution, Apple... what if the mouse could become a wired mouse whilst charging? Stick the port in the front-end of the mouse and have it work whilst charging so I don't have to use my laptops trackpad for intricate design work.

      Who are these people?

Is someone paying irrational, cantankerous antagonists to write one-star reviews? Anything they don't love is automatically "the worst thing ever!" All of these Is someone paying irrational, cantankerous antagonists to write one-star reviews? Anything they don't love is automatically "the worst thing ever!" All of these extremely low reviews are incredible... as in "not even remotely credible." This mouse looks and feels like the last one - only a little lighter. Ergonomics, weight, appearance, functionality... all great things, and all much better than your average third-party product. The mouse plugs in to charge... and this is somehow horrible? Upside-down is a bit weird and you don't use it while it is charging. How does that make this a one-star product? Don't you ever sleep? Can't you remember to plug your mouse in overnight once a month? This is way better than having to change the batteries every two weeks. Do you gripe about your phone because you have to put it down once in a while to charge it? So it doesn't work with some of the older system software? Well in most cases, neither should you. How does that make this product abysmal? Your wrist hurts? That is not the mouse's fault. Operator error does not make a product atrocious any more than a drunk driver makes a a particular brand of car a hazard to drive. This mouse is a great product. An improvement over the already-good last version. Would I prefer a third party mouse over this one? No thanks. I'll give my five stars right here without apology.

The sleek and comfortable hold all the way to gestures, this mouse is hands down the best one I could ask for. A common opinion that comes out is that the "designers are idiots" for putting the charging port on the bottom. I'd like to start by saying these people are idiots. I agree that the port on the bottom may be "questionable" at best but there's a side of this people aren't considering. Actually it feels like many people wrote the review without using the product for extended periods of time. This mouse can last for an extremely long time on a single charge, almost a month with daily use of about 7 hours (personally). When the mouse runs out of charge, just plug it in for a couple of hours and then it will be fully charged and ready to go for another month. So sure, the mouse is useless when it's being charged but no one will bring up how long it lasts on the off chance it may seem like you can forgive the design. I forgive the design for its excellent service and all those who think it's bad without even trying to use it, they are the idiots.

      Apple is Trying Too Hard

I never thought that I would say a tech company is trying too hard because forward thinking technology companies typically produces cool products. But Apple it I never thought that I would say a tech company is trying too hard because forward thinking technology companies typically produces cool products. But Apple it seems is putting forward thinking tech ahead of good common sense. The thing about humans is a lot of us are very impatient. Those of us who are, don't want to be forced to stop working to recharge a mouse, not even for two minutes. Also, the 'battery charge is low indicator' advances to 'battery is empty' WAY faster than the original Magic Mouse. Since Apple decided a very small flat mouse was a good idea they were left with no where to put the USB port besides the bottom. If the port were on either side the cord would get in the way of your fingers when it is plugged in.

Ability to swipe with one or two fingers is the best feature. I'm a designer and using this in all Adobe products is superb, the sensitivity is just right. I have no issue with charging the mouse once a month when I sleep, not sure why it bothers others so much. But then again, people love to hate on Apple.
