Don't listen to the haters....This is a fantastic "keyboard"

Love at first use. This keyboard is amazing. Yes, it does only cover the front, but so what. Yes, there is no holder for the pencil, but, so what. Yes, the Love at first use. This keyboard is amazing. Yes, it does only cover the front, but so what. Yes, there is no holder for the pencil, but, so what. Yes, there may be some functionality glitches, but again, so what. This Smart "KEYBOARD" for iPad Pro rocks. Apple only promised us a keyboard, and that's what this is. The whiners probably shake their birthday cards for money before they read them, so sad. This is by far the best peripheral keyboard I've ever used in terms of feel and accuracy. Oh, and the feel/look of the materials/design is far from cheap, as mentioned in some other reviews. They nailed it, AGAIN!! Thanks Apple. Bottom Line - Drop the coin and don't look back. This keyboard will transform your iPad Pro into a monster of mayhem.(in a good way). Cheers!!

After 35 years of computing, my favorite keyboard of all time.

I make virtually no typing errors on it, and it's proximity to the display makes the combination of a keyboard and the touch screen really work. With my other iPads, I used several aftermarket keyboards and typically abandoned them in a short time. I love this one, and hope that the shortcomings will be resolved soon in software.

      Best keyboard experience

The keyboard might seem a bit on the higher end when it comes to the price, but then it is a pleasure to use. Based on my past experience with Logitech keyboard The keyboard might seem a bit on the higher end when it comes to the price, but then it is a pleasure to use. Based on my past experience with Logitech keyboards, I was a bit sceptical in using a keyboard at first but so far have not been disappointed. The quality is excellent, the keyboard works and integrates well with the iPadPro. Some people might want a trackpad - but given it is an iPad, you really do not need any. I recommend to get an Apple Pencil as well.

keyboard dead in under a year

DO NOT BUY! Just like all the other reviews online, this keyboard becomes unrecognized by the iPad Pro in under a year. Considering this is the most expensive DO NOT BUY! Just like all the other reviews online, this keyboard becomes unrecognized by the iPad Pro in under a year. Considering this is the most expensive option and a genuine Apple accessory I would avoid this product.

Imperfect, Expensive, But Still Comfortable And Sturdy After 18 Months

It has held up very, very well for more than a year, and is much more comfortable to type on than my old Retina Macbook was (which I finally simply replaced with my iPad Pro.) It’s also much lighter and easier to attach and detach than the Logitech keyboard cases. Caveats though: it’s too expensive; it’s a dust/crumbs magnet; and the felt on the bottom of the keyboard touches whatever surface you’re using—you’ll literally come to fear dirty cafe tabletops. Mine also ended up with the second-year failure issue (numerous “this accessory not supported” error messages, occasional keys not working/sticking.) Apple recognized the issue in Spring 2017 and extended the original 9.7” and 12.9” Smart Keyboard warranties to three years and will replace failing keyboards for free under a Quality Care replacement program. Others here seem to have had difficulty getting a replacement but I had no trouble at all at my local Apple Store (North Michigan Avenue in Chicago), where the Genius Bar folks knew exactly what I was talking about. (I’m waiting on the replacement to ship to store now.) In the end, wish the keyboard were cheaper, but definitely recommend it. Especially with iOS 11, it makes your iPad Pro absolutely feel like a laptop replacement.

Wait for better if you can

First the bad. Rather flimsy plastic which I expect to wear out in a couple of years. Also, when the keyboard is folded back the weight of the iPad weighs down First the bad. Rather flimsy plastic which I expect to wear out in a couple of years. Also, when the keyboard is folded back the weight of the iPad weighs down causing tension on the spine of the keyboard which will hasten deterioration. Way overpriced. Doesn't protect the rear of the iPad. No dedicated keys for volume and seemingly no short cuts for volume either. No back light. When folded into a keyboard the micro fibre is on the base of the stand and so will pick up any dirt on the surface it is placed, which will then transfer to the screen. The same problem occurs when the keyboard is folded back out the way, the micro-fibre is exposed. Worst of all the keyboard frequently loses connection and you must detach and reattach to regain its capability. This is not simply a fault with mine as I have used these keyboards in several Apple stores which have the same issue. Also not really suited for working on a lap due to the flimsy construction, far better suited to table top use. On the plus, it's a keyboard, it works when it's working, and it's pretty much all that's available.
