has ethernet cable connection between time capsule and imac priority over WIFI connection
At the time my iMac gets its Internet access over WLAN of a Router/modem.
The connection between airport TimeCapsule and the iMac is also wireless.
After updating to Sierra (coincidence?) I get very often the message that the backup on the TimeCapsule is corrupt, and time machine initiates a new backup. I want to try the next backup over a cable connection between the Computer and the TimeCapsule.
Questions:
1. What happens if I connect my iMac 27 2012 to the Airport Time capsule per Ethernet cable, but the WLAN on the iMac remains active? Will the connection between the iMac and the TC be through cable or through WLAN?
2. Will the iMac WLAN function?- Asked by Dimitar L

Does 2013 Time Capsule support 5Ghz 802.11 'N' or is 5Ghz only for 'AC'?
Hi guys,
I currently have no 802.11AC devices, and 2.4ghz is congested in my area.
Can I turn off 'AC' and use 5ghz frequency for 802.11N, so that my 3rd Gen iPad, iPhone 5 etc can connect on 5ghz band?
From what I've read, it looks like 2.4ghz is N and 5Ghz is AC, can this be changed?
Thanks :)- Asked by Isaac I from Pacific Pines

AnswerAll wifi clients can use the 5ghz band for .n if it has a dual band wifi adapter which it sounds like you do.

Is there a way to check the disk drive's condition or health?
The drive is starting to make some noise where it was virtually silent for three years. I'm concerned it might fail. I've restarted the drive a couple of times to verify the disk (as instructed by Apple) and no sign of a problem. Any suggestions?

AnswerIt has Gigabit ethernet (1000 Mbit/s) and IEEE 802.11ac (> 500 Mbit/s) build in, so THEORETICALLY, yes, it can support those bit rates. However, the AirPort speed HIGHLY depends on your local surroundings and distance to the device.

SSD is a total waste of money in this context. The SSD drive would be a Ferrari. The wireless network would be LA traffic.- Answered by Brian F from San Diego

Answer
This depends on what your situation is. The Airport Express can be used as a Wi-Fi extender to improve the range of your wireless network. Yo can also hook up the Express to your stereo/speakers and use the AirPlay function.

Best Answer:
The Time Capsule should work fine in Europe. The radio frequency has not changed from previous generation WiFi transceivers. The new 802.11ac uses "beamforming" to try to vector the wireless signal directionally toward the clients (laptops, iPads, iPhones, etc.)
Apple products have power supplies that work everywhere. You will need the appropriate plug to fit your European type electrical outlet.- Answered by Mark H from Santa Cruz
