AnswerYES! I just switched from a first-generation 12.9" iPad Pro to a 10.5" iPad Pro. I was curious as well. In fact, I'm writing this answer on my new iPad Pro 10.5" using my old 12.9" Smart Keyboard. It absolutely connects and works.

does the smart keyboard accommodate the microphone feature for dictation?
- Asked by Lois H from Sinsinawa

- Flag as inappropriate (does the smart keyboard accommodate the microphone feature for dictation?)
AnswerEven though several reviews say it does not, it most certainly does. When you are typing at the bottom of the screen on the right side, there is a down arrow, hold it down and the on screen keyboard pops up, and lets you use the voice dictation.

I have the keyboard which folds up to protect the front of the IPad Pro, is there a way of covering the back of the iPad Pro 12.9”?
- Asked by Kevin N from Glen Mills

Best Answer:The Smart Keyboard will only protect the front. The Apple Smart Cover will cover both sides, but doesn't sport a keyboard. I bought a sleeve that will hold the iPad + Smart Keyboard and protect the whole device.

My iPad Pro measures exactly 12”. It’s only a year old and the keyboard quit working entirely. The 12.9” seems too big. What to do?

AnswerThe 12.9" measurement is the diagonal screen size. If you're measuring the long side at 12", then this is the correct keyboard for you.

Answer
It actually fits more snug with the keyboard attached. Without the keyboard, the iPad can easily slip in and out of the sleeve. When you have the keyboard attached, it creates a little more friction and it adds some more girth to the product. So yes, the iPad with the keyboard or smart cover will fit in the sleeve just fine.
