    Great product but has limitations!

My 12.9 iPad Pro has outgrown my stand so in looking for a stand that would be stable enoug to hold the larger iPad I came across the LOGI BASE.
At 1st I was a bit shocked at the price as I needed to buy 2 but the fact it utilises wireless charging in landscape mode with magnets to snap it in place and it looked solid I decided to buy 2.
On unpacking they look solid and well made, the base is super grippy and will not slip on almost any surface and holds the iPad securely and safely.
The magnets snap the iPad into place and starts to charge.
However, the standard 12w charger for the 12.9 iPad Pro is just not man enough for the job. It takes over 5 hours to charge from flat.
Apple do, at some cost provide an alternative 29w usb-c charger that will do that in 2-3 hours, you also need to fork out for the usb-c to lightning cable too.
Having purchased one of these I was extremely disappointed to discover that while using this stand the 29w charger was no faster than the 12w that was charging my wife's at the same time. both iPads were on a LOGI BASE stand and both at 50% charge
After an hour I pulled the plug on the stand and plugged the 29w directly into the iPad and bingo, fast charging.
So, for me it's 2 stars. Great build and stability but no support for fast charging!

Stopped working within first 90 days

Purchased for use with iPad Pro 12.9". Stand looks great, but stopped working (i.e., still functions as dumb stand, but no longer charges iPad) within first 90 days following purchase.

    Stopped working after 6 months

The base no longer charges consistently. I have to unplug the cable and then it will work sometimes. Poor quality.

Great idea but don’t expect it to charge your iPad

I can leave my iPad on this thing for two days and it will be at the same battery level I left it. More of a sustainance dock than a charging dock.

    Don't understand the good reviews

I bought this when I bought my iPad Pro. It is the worst charger I have ever used. I've now had it for about a month. I plug it in next to my bed. The pro can be at say %25 when I plug it in. When I get up it MAY be at %32 percent. I've changed cords. I've tried all the alternatives I can think of. Nothing has helped. In its favor it is a very nice design. It got two stars because of the design.

Great Product but with Poor Finish, back to the factory please

    • Written by Anonymous

The first thing I've noticed when I've opened the box is how poor is the packaging.
The item is left like a returned or cheap product with no unwrapping effort to preserve it and the user manual is glued to the box!

Using the base is great, makes total sense and it's fairly simple, the design looks something like what Apple make but then you notice how harsh is the aluminum as it left unbrushed and it doesn't feel right! it's like it skipped a process in the factory!

I'm picky, 100$ for a piece of aluminum, it better be very well done or Logi better sell it half the price, ether way I'm returning it.

    Nice idea, poorly executed

Firstly, this is not cheap, and for the money I would expect perfection. It's a very sharp little piece of engineering, small in footprint, certainly a better option than anything I had been using before such as a speaker dock, which took up three times the space. Unfortunately the Logi base started to act like the Black Knight and functionality started to drop off. We noticed after a while that the smaller iPad pro we were using would be nicely charged over night but if you leave it on, plugged in and working such as listening to the radio the power would drain during the day so that by 6pm you would be down to 40%. So this can't sustain a charge. Taking the wire out of the Logi base and putting directly into the iPad (kinda defeating the point but hey-ho)and a charge would be held and re-charge would be much faster. We lived with this for a while and then after about 6 months the Logi base stopped charging completely. Rendering the Logi base to nothing more than a stand. So I do feel a bit miffed at a significant amount of money spent for something that within a year was useless. yes I know I should have returned it but I just didn't (couldn't be bothered with the hassle). Buy with your eyes open, it might work for you but it didn't for me. As a stand it's lovely, as a charging utility, it's utterly hopeless.
