The base no longer charges consistently. I have to unplug the cable and then it will work sometimes. Poor quality.

    A Waste of Money

    • Written by Mark G from Naples

I bought one and it worked with my 9.7" iPad Pro. Then suddenly it wanted me to update some connection software, but it wouldn't allow it to happen. It kept saying "Press here to update", but it never updated.

I then bought a 10.5" iPad pro, put it in the same LogiBase, and it still wouldn't charge at all.

Not one to give up, I bought a new LogiBase. Same problem.

Apple couldn't figure it out. And Logitech offered no solution. I never had problems with Logitech gear before. But this is a dog.

Great Stand but not for rapid charging.

    • Written by Michael H from Lincoln

This stand is an perfect for keeping your iPad charged for long duration uses. I use my iPad to play my background music and to control all of my home kit items so I don't really ever drain it down to nothing and need a rapid charge to continue using it. So for me this is a great charging stand but if your looking for a rapid charge type of stand then look els where but this is a great display stand for long term usage.

Purchased for use with iPad Pro 12.9". Stand looks great, but stopped working (i.e., still functions as dumb stand, but no longer charges iPad) within first 90 days following purchase.

LOGI Base stand for IPAD 12.9

    • Written by OCEAN T from Macgregor

This little Aluminium stand is simply stunning and awesome. I don't understand some people stating that this is a complete waste of money and it does not charge quickly enough. I simply bought this just for a stand so I can have this next to my computer, the lightening connector at the rear of the stand is just a bonus in my books. This looks great next to my computer where I have it housed on the Tweleve South Book Arc Stand for MacBook.

Well done LOGI on what is a excellent product

    Great Charging Stand

    • Written by Matthew C from Dallas

I brought this charging stand for my iPad Pro 12.9inch as I needed a convenient place to charge it. Since I have had this stand it's been great and very happy. I can't understand why there are so low star reviews as this product is great. If you have a Smart Keyboard or Smart Cover you will have to remove it so the Smart connector can connect with the charging stand. Logitech has always made great long lasting reliable products and here is another one.

    Great for charging

    • Written by Hao Z from Dallas

It's so great for charging ipad. You don't need to bear wires massed up in your desk. But if it can adapt to any angle will be better.

Great Potential, but for Key Design Problem.

    • Written by Nam C from Linden

The key feature on this stand is the "Apple Smart Connector". This is the magnetically aligned and secured iPad "cover hinge” refined to also provide power & data. It’s what I consider Classic, Signature Apple product design / engineering. It's surprising and delightful to find something innovated with so much engineering, thought and expense to “solve” a problem we didn’t even know to complain about.

Your iPadPro will align with the connector as if an invisible force was guiding it and click into place securely, no extra charging cable to plugin!

Several details are well executed including, anodizing and chamfering of the aluminum, type of anti-slip rubber base and the plastic anti-scuff edging is affixed in a precision machined cutout edge mounted cleanly without screws. However…

The iPadPro’s will charge up to 10X faster (~1.5 hours) with a 29 Watt USB-C Power Adaptor versus 12+ hours (iPad screen on, 0% to 80%) with the under-powered 12 Watt Adapter that Apple ships standard with their Premium Professional iPad. Someone "contributed and saved tons of money!” at Apple. Well…

The Logi BASE Charging stand ONLY works at 12Watt MAX, yes, even if you plugin a 29 Watt Power Adaptor. Logi is upfront about this, and lists a few sample charging times but not where the problem originates on their website.

People get a $100 charge stand to simultaneously charge and power (use) their iPads. Unfortunately, you'll be lucky to get any additional charge as 12 Watts can barely keep up. The reviewers who wrote they received broken or defective stands, no your stand isn’t broken. Someone at Apple contributed by squeezing an extra $5 margin, thus millions of people suffer while Apple piles more Billions in profit and Jony Ive is too busy hanging out with cool people. Poor Steve…

Extremely nice looking and heavy, super easy to docket with one hand the magnets work perfect and draw in so you know where to lay it to charge. I would love to see these come in the same colors that the iPad Pro comes in I will never be without a dock again wonderful product

    EXACTLY what you need...

    • Written by Douglas S from Charleston

I use this to charge, and it's also nice if I want to watch something on video next to me or on the table. It is ROCK SOLID!!! I now use it without charging just as a stand that is totally functional. Unlike the folding cover/stand - this is strong enough where you can push as hard as you want and it wouldn't disconnect, fall down, etc.

There are two negative review people... One says it takes too long to charge - seems like an isolated incident or a personal problem. The other complains it can't be used with an accessory connected to the smart charge port... DUH??? What did that person expect???

Seriously, this is so darn expensive, but it's one of the best accessories I've ever purchased on an apple product.

    Great product but has limitations!

    • Written by lee G from Wotton Under Edge

My 12.9 iPad Pro has outgrown my stand so in looking for a stand that would be stable enoug to hold the larger iPad I came across the LOGI BASE.
At 1st I was a bit shocked at the price as I needed to buy 2 but the fact it utilises wireless charging in landscape mode with magnets to snap it in place and it looked solid I decided to buy 2.
On unpacking they look solid and well made, the base is super grippy and will not slip on almost any surface and holds the iPad securely and safely.
The magnets snap the iPad into place and starts to charge.
However, the standard 12w charger for the 12.9 iPad Pro is just not man enough for the job. It takes over 5 hours to charge from flat.
Apple do, at some cost provide an alternative 29w usb-c charger that will do that in 2-3 hours, you also need to fork out for the usb-c to lightning cable too.
Having purchased one of these I was extremely disappointed to discover that while using this stand the 29w charger was no faster than the 12w that was charging my wife's at the same time. both iPads were on a LOGI BASE stand and both at 50% charge
After an hour I pulled the plug on the stand and plugged the 29w directly into the iPad and bingo, fast charging.
So, for me it's 2 stars. Great build and stability but no support for fast charging!

Fantastic way to power iPad Pro freeing the Lightening port!

    • Written by Francis L from Cupertino

This device allows you to power the iPad Pro via the Smart Connector and free the Lightening port for other purposes: charging the Pencil, exchanging data, and sending music to an external DAC and headphones (an improvement over using the audio jack). The non-slip base holds the device and stand firmly. The angle is about 70-80 degrees depending whether you have a cover that would tuck in the back. As another reviewer noted, the cover would not be able to cover the glass itself. Using this base will also prevent wear to both the Lightening port and connector, since you will not need to keep pulling it out and plugging it in--just position it on the Smart Connector! Bravo!

Lovely solid home for iPad Pro 9.7

    • Written by Jack L from Nottingham

I wanted somewhere to "dump" my iPad where is can charge, be safe and I'll not have to faff to get it there or get it out. This works perfectly.
It's more of a none slip bottom rather than sticky and works well on my Ikea coffee table and doesn't lift the dock when you take the iPad off the charger. The magnet is strong, but not too strong. You get a nice secure connection when you place it down too and it's held in place if anyone is planning to use it whilst it's on there, the iPad is going no where.
As for charging time, I'm on the 9.7 pro and it seems about the same time for me. I had it on the dock streaming to my Apple TV (iPad screen off) for 2 hours and it went up 35% from 50 to 85. I have an apple lightning cable plugged into an Anker 5 port USB charger supporting 10w charge rate.
The only thing I'd change if I could is the logi name on the front, but that's just me being picky. Although expensive, it's well worth it, assuming future iPads will also support this smart connector.

    Don't understand the good reviews

    • Written by Richard K from Green Lake

I bought this when I bought my iPad Pro. It is the worst charger I have ever used. I've now had it for about a month. I plug it in next to my bed. The pro can be at say %25 when I plug it in. When I get up it MAY be at %32 percent. I've changed cords. I've tried all the alternatives I can think of. Nothing has helped. In its favor it is a very nice design. It got two stars because of the design.

Very nice EXCEPT won't work with smart cover or keyboard cover on

    • Written by R C J from SAN JOSE

Slick, minimal design as is to be expected of Apple. But they don't mention that it won't work with the smart cover or keyboard cover on. This means that here in very dusty Silicon Valley, I have to leave the screen exposed while it's charging (or put a bag over it).

I've set it up beside my Samsung Qi-compatible quick charger, which CAN charge my Android phone even through its thick case. This is yet another case of Apple valuing form over function. But if you can live with removing your screen cover and replacing it every single time you put the iPad on the charger, it works great. So I only removed 1 star from the rating.

    Finally.. Inductive charging (sort of)

    • Written by PATRICK F from West Jordan

This is the charger/stand I have been waiting for. Finally i can put my ipad on my nightstand and not worry about reaching for the lightning cable. The angle of this is also perfect, in my opinion. Solid construction too. You would think this was made by Apple themselves. Honestly, why Apple didnt, is beyond me. That smart connector needs to be taken advantage of! Love it. Highly recommend.

    - The only negative.. The price.. Wish it was around the $50-60 range. But I was willing to spend more because it was something I wanted for a long time.

extremely well designed and highly functional.

    • Written by Jaffrey A from Falls Church

this is a very well made dock for the iPad Pro. If you use your iPad on a desk I highly recommend this. Along with a Bluetooth keyoard this dock is a better value in my opinion than the Smart Keyboard type cases. I tried all combinations and my favorite now it's to have this dock plus the Apple Bluetooth keyboard for desk use and the standard cover when I need to be mobile. It is a great charging station due to the magnetic lock-in mechanism and the base itself is very solid and well made.

A Must for iPad lovers to use on Desktop safe and secure while charging

    • Written by Kevin C from Preston

What a great product,I can sit in comfort at the desk, with the iPad Pro 12.9 in the stand, and also on charge at the same time, please note you can also leave the silicone case on ,but not a Smart Cover or Smart Keyboard as they magnetically cover over connections needed to charge iPad.I use the iPad with the magic keyboard and they work well together.but the logi stand, even though a little dear,is well made and does not move,if you use the touch screen the the iPad does not rock back and forward as some products create, but remains still and secure, a great buy well done Logi and Apple.

Base charging stand will not charge to 100%

    • Written by Geoff H from WAITAKERE

This is a very good stand and is solid on my desk - but - it will not charge my iPad pro 12.9 to 100%. The max it has ever got up to is 95% and as I write this it is at 92%.
