    This is the old version that they are selling

    I bought from Amazon with 2 connectors since Apple uses lightning with my cell phone and USB-C for my iPad.
    I am not sure why Apple store does not carry the newest version since this headset is one of the best in the market.

    Outstanding technical support

    I had a weird issue with my brand new Rayz in that they made a loud buzzing sound. Contacted support, they were very quick about it, helped me get the firmware updated and went through some troubleshooting steps to reset the headphones. They also proactively shipped out an RMA shipping label to return them.

    The troubleshooting steps worked and resolved the issue, so I didn't return them. The headphones are outstanding and the noise cancelling is the best I've ever heard. But their support was beyond excellent especially for headphones.

    Needed noise cancelling headset for telephone calls

    I bought these (from a source other than Apple, just because I wanted the Bronze version) mainly for use on conference calls. With systems like Go2Meeting, Zoom, FCC and others, I often find I have trouble hearing the audio so prefer to dial in for audio and listen over my iPhone. But even then, international connections, differences in accents, line noise etc can make it hard to hear or be heard. This Rayz wired headset seems to be a big asset for this sort of conversations. The in ear fit, wired connection, noise canceling all help a lot for me to hear clearly what is being said. And being wired with the microphone in the control module, you can always hold it closer to your mouth if people are having trouble hearing you (something you cannot do with wireless sets). It did take some experimentation with the included ear molds to get a good fit, but I finally found the best for me and they stay put very well, even when moving about. So while I cannot say much about using them as an audiophile might, they are a great improvement over non-noise cancelling wired headphones for telephone and conference calls (just not inexpensive, but no noise cancelling headphones are).

    A good value for Noise Cancelling headphones and really good software

    What these headphones are and are not

    At $130 USD these are a pretty decent pair of automatic noise cancelling headphones. The ANC is no where as good as Bose...that is the gold standard for ANC but the Pioneer Rayz do a darn good job for a third of the price.
    I have been on a quest for ANC headphones with good sound quality voice/audio and the ability to use them all day. I use headphones in the office for conference calls, music in-between conference calls and while traveling.
    The Rayz sound is remarkably good, the voice/mic is crystal clear and doesn't pick up much background noise, the controls are intuitive and Pioneer did a great job with the software.
    I suspect these are not workout durable headphones, by that I mean they have a cord, the cord/wire is light gauge and the connector and control pad don't feel that robust. Jerking on the cable from the lightning connector, the control pad or the earbuds one too many times will probably result in them failing sooner than say a pair of Bose SoundSports. If you treat them with care I suspect they'll last.
    For comparison purposes I own Bose QCi20s, BeatsX, AirPods, Beats Solo2 and I have owned Bose QC30 (see my review here on Apple).
    Outfitting the Rayz with the ear tips from the Bose QCi20 makes for an ever better experience with the Rayz.

    Great Headphones and Service

    I have had these headphones for well over a year and they have performed very well. I think the noise cancelling capabilities are fantastic. It is super useful that you can turn that feature off and even use the microphones to make you more aware of your surroundings when needed. I can wear these for extended periods of time without discomfort using the x-small silicone ear-tips or small Comply tips, no easy feat for me. I traditionally have a hard time keeping ear buds in my ears but the company recently sent me complimentary ear-wings to remedy that, which helps a great deal. The app is easy to use and is updated regularly. I have been able to update my iPhone while these were plugged in with the extra power pass through female lightening outlet, an indispensable feature for me.

    My original pair did develop a crack in one ear piece, but customer service was quick to send me a new replacement.

    Oh, and the sound and call clarity on both ends is great. :)

    Died in less than 8 weeks of light use. I have reached out to Pioneer for replacement pair. Let's see how that handle support. Will update review as and when they address the issue.

    WARNING! They won't last!

    I bought two of these. Mine cuts out constantly. My husband's had the full cable detached at the y joint within a week and a half. The one benefit is that you can charge when you listen, but if it cuts out while you are listening or it is broken, it doesn't work at all. They also do not cancel noise effectively.

    Great earphones

    I was looking for lightning earphones and called Pioneer after reading some good reviews to see if there were wings to help keep them in. . . and they had them upon request. Pods don’t stay in my ears. As soon as I bought the Rayz, I followed the instructions to request the wings. There was a choice of either black or white. I was amazed how quickly they arrived, and both black and white sets were sent at that. As soon as I added the wings to the earpieces, I was blown away by the sound. I had tried another brand and was unhappy with them. These are great!

    Good product even better customer service

    I am very happy with my Rayz. They work well in an open office environment and are easily portable for trips. The noise cancelling feature works great on airplane engines. I have a pair of Bose Q35s but they are very bulky for travel and I can’t really wear one ear and leave the other off for the office like you can with earbuds. I use these 5 days a week for podcasts and music and they meet my needs. Importantly, when the left earbud developed a static hiss the Pioneer customer service team was excellent and helped me quickly return and sent a replacement set.

    Very solid product all around

    Great pair of earphones, definitely worth the price tag. I usually fly a lot for work, and the noise cancelling feature has been really helpful in letting me concentrate and get work done on travels. Sound quality is fantastic too.

    Good noise canceling feature for earbuds (comparable to some over ear headphones noise canceling ability) and at first I had issues with the earbud attachments but you get several different ones to try on and see which one fits best and sounds best for you.

    Excellent product for studying

    I needed a light pair of headphones to study with. I love my bose overheads but can be tiresome to wear for long periods of time. These were excellent in that they cancel out sound magically without the tiring overhead aspect. I also got complemented plenty for this specific rose gold color as it’s a very unique look. So far I love them for what I use them for. I also love how they’re wired because I never need to charge them. Overall would highly recommend.

    Most Innovative Headphones ever

    Very Innovative headphones. Definitely worth the price. Love the HearThru and SmartMute technology embedded in the headphones. These headphones are a perfect fit for a college student who want a strong noise canceling headphones with great quality. These headphones calibrate constantly to make sure it always adapts to you and your environment. 5/5! I highly recommend

    Excellent till it worked

    The noise cancellation, ability to charge while listening, lightening port are all great features. But a few months into using it, often times there would be a lot of static when we answer the calls. But the same static disappears as soon as I remove the headphone and plug it back in.

    Best customer service ever

    I bought these earphones about one month ago. I found the microphone was not working very well, it was getting all the background noise and not a lot of my voice. I recorded a couple of sound samples and sent them to Pioneer Rayz support. A short few days later, they informed me that they wanted to replace my earphones. Provided my address (I am posted abroad) and got the replacement in a week or so.

    Sound is spectacular, noise reduction is very good and the comfy and multiple size earplugs cover all your needs. A must have!

    Customer service is fast, helpful and efficient.

    Already Broken

    I got these earphones for the holidays (6 months ago), after month 4 the sound started to go in and out, making songs sound weird, etc.. Now, one headphone completely does not work. Not sure if this item has a warranty, but if it does, I would like to utilize it, because I NEVER write reviews, but these seriously had to be defective.

    Worth it.

    I was switching over to Apple and was worried about no headphone jack. These are perfect for me because you can charge the phone while listening to music. The controls are nice, and the sound quality is amazing. I highly recommend downloading the Rayz app to get the most out of them, the equalizers and settings really make these earphones worth it. I definitely prefer these to other earphones on the market, so I think the price point is fair.

    Excellent noise cancelling absolute value for money

    I wanted wired earphones with active noise cancelling and didn’t want to deal with Bluetooth connectivity, charging batteries and additional cables. 

    So, after checking many reviews online, I was all set to buy a Bose QC 20 earphones. I was not very happy about the bulky battery hanging out but every option out there had a battery sticking out. I did consider the JBL Reflect Aware earphones because it didn’t have a battery but the reviews didn’t look good as they drain the iPhone batteries pretty quick. So that was not a good option as well. 

    Luckily, on the way to the Bose shop was an authorized Apple reseller so I popped in out of curiosity and I immediately liked the Pioneer Rayz Plus. They didn’t let me try them on but I took a leap of faith and bought them right away. I really love them. Great sound quality, really good noise cancellation, no battery sticking out, the iPhone 6 / iPad Pro 10.5 battery drain is negligible, and the best thing is the super clever charging port and they are really affordable as well. 

    I am really glad I walked into the Apple store :-)

    Definitely recommended!

    Was debating getting these for so long, was getting sick of using adapters and various bluetooth headphones that run out of battery all the time and poor sound quality. And I am so glad I got these! Sound quality is incredible, very well balanced, great bass and beautiful detail. They are otherwise comfortable to wear, the noise cancellation is surprisingly good, a dream on flights, on trains etc. And obviously a great thing that you can charge your phone at the same time! Pioneer's customer service is also next to none, I contacted them regarding an issue and it was resolved within hours. I use these all the time, one of the greatest accessories I have for my iPhone.

    broke less than 6 months

    These headphones are horrible. they easily fall out of the ear, they do not cancel noise as claimed and they broke after a mere 5 months. customer service with pioneer was non-existent. totally disappointed that apple would sell such defective products in stores and offer no support.
