    Great headphones, when they work

    These are great headphones, but I had to replace the first pair after 4 months. My replacement second pair lasted just over a year. Now I'm out of warranty and Apple is trying to charge me $95 just to get them repaired, or almost the full price of new headphones. Beware.

    Quality

    Why does everyone has this problem? My headphones do the same thing. They start blinking read and white when I charge them and won’t turn on when I unplug them. I expect more of a lifetime for 100$. How long is the warranty or is there a chance to get them repair. Great product if they work tho but I don’t need to buy two pairs every year.

    Great earphones if they didn't stop working

    Got my first ones for the first time around two years ago and they didn't work straight out of the box (they wouldn't even turn on), went to Apple and got them replaced right away. All good after that, amazing sound quality, fast charging is a great feature and after getting used to the wire around the neck I pretty much loved them. However, they have now stopped working properly, I can't turn them on or if I manage to do so (after way to many tries) then I struggle to turn them off. Since they're out of the warranty period Apple doesn't replace them and I'd have to pay £70 to do so which (after looking for other earphones) I was considering to do so, until I read these other reviews! It seems to me that these earphones are all faulty and Apple is not really trying to fix the product, instead keeps selling these and hopping that they'll work until they're out of the warranry period so we have to pay to get them replace. I guess that's one way of getting rid of all your faulty beats x.
    Fair to say I'm not impressed with these, Beats should be associated to a certain quality standard, I have my powerbeats for about 4 years now and they are amazing truly lived up to Beats quality (I used them all the time to workout), these ones however definetly have some hardware issues and I'm not going to give them a third chance.

    Problems outweigh the benefits

    When they work they're great (hence the second star), but...

    I bought these 9 months ago. Since then they have broken three times, and the most recent replacement set I was given lasted only three weeks before breaking again yesterday. At this stage it feels like I spend more time having them repaired than actually wearing them! I have a couple of friends who own the same make and they have both encountered the same issues so I'm afraid this seems to be a defective product. HonestIy, I wouldn't buy them again.

    If only it lasted longer

    It has been over 12 months since I got these earphones but they have already been replaced once and the second pair now has another problem. I really like these earphones because they have great sound quality and they allow me to block out other noises and just focus on my work. The customisable features were really nice too.
    I've always used Apple products and I sincerely want to keep using these headphones if I could. But in all honesty, just get headphones with better reviews I guess.

    Not reliable

    I had to get these replaced for a total of 3 times. Every time, they had some sort of connectivity issue. The best Apple support could do for me is issue me a repair. They had no guarantees to the reliability down the road. The product does what is expected, just not for how long I expected it to.

    Poor Durability

    I liked my BeatsX. Sound quality was pretty good, battery life fine and stayed put during runs. I liked that I could charge them with the same cord as my phone. After less than a year of use, the power/bluetooth button stopped working so I replaced them with different sport headphones.

    Didn't last.

    Worked for a few months but then stopped connecting. Tried reset on it and no effect. Price from 149 to 99 but hoping a version 2 is released sometime.

    Sad to see an "Apple" product that does not live up to Apple standards

    First pair of black BeatsX lasted one year then one side stopped working. Luckily i got a second pair of BeatsX as a bonus for buying a new computer. This second pair was white and after 18 months the sound stopped. i tried "resetting", no luck. The lights flashed red and white and everything looked like they should work, but no sound. I took them to the Apple store, and decided the fix was not worth it and bought a third pair. Third pair is Satin Silver. I am under no illusions after reading all the reviews on here. These headphones are only good for one year, then they die. At least the price dropped significantly this time, they were only $99. I also have AirPods and never had a problem with them after at least two years now. I have run them through the washing machine and drier, they still work perfectly. Only problem is I cannot use the AirPods on an airplane or in the gym because they do not block out the ambient noise, so i am forced to buy two pairs of earbuds. i wish BeatsX could fix the flaw in this product because they sound great and love the design and everything else about this product. I know it is hard to make a product like that that lasts. I used to use SkullCandy earbuds and they only lasted one year too. I wish they made AirPods with adapters that blocked out ambient noise when that situation is needed.

    Started so well

    Received these September 2018, very comfortable, sound quality great, battery life great.

    Until they stopped working in February 2019. After searching online for possible reasons it seems that it is a common fault and many people have the same issue. I am now concerned that they will break again outside of my warrantee. Safe to say I would not buy these ever again or recommend anyone to buy these as they should last more than 6 months.

    The only positive on sending them off for repair was that it was easy to do with a quick turnaround.

    Disappointed

    I'm not going to lie, I really enjoyed my beats X when they worked. I'm a big fan of beats because I have the beats solo, powerbeats 3 and then I got the beats X when they first came out and I was ecstatic. I enjoyed my first pair for a few months (bought brand new) then they quit working and a replacement was sent by apple. That was great, got the replacements and they've worked almost a year and now they just quit working. I bought them for work outs and because they are wireless mainly. I doubt I will buy another pair since these just don't last long like I wish they would. And now that I'm out of warranty, they want me to pay $79 for a replacement that's not even a new pair with a 60 day warranty. Ummm, 60 days isn't long enough, and with that kind of deal, I mine as well buy a new pair for $99 and get a 2 year warranty. Electronics just don't last long like they use to. Waste of money.I will go to Bose for my next pair of wireless buds.

    Broke right after the first year.

    I bought this around $150 right before Apple decided to cut the price. I don't use this daily with my iPhone 6s (4-5days a week). It was still working in the afternoon, but when I got home it cannot be turn on so I charge it until the red light turns into white. However, when I powered it on it blinks while light 3 times and turns off. Now it doesn't even want to charge anymore... I recently swapped to a iPhone Xs; therefore, I cannot charge my phone and listen to music + play games anymore.

    Great until the sound dies... too soon

    I really liked how these beats worked with apple equipment, losing the wire to the device, blocking out sound by being nice in-ear sound blocking.

    However, after 18 months, one of the earbuds stopped giving sound. Then 1 week later, the other one died.
    I did all the tricks with restart (10 seconds of power+volume-down), no help.
    I can still see how they control via bluetooth, but no sound.

    Such a shame.

    DON"T GET THESE HEADPHONES!!!!

    I got these for my birthday in July. A couple of weeks later I realized that there is a bump in the wire and its hard and does not go away. Then about 2 months later I find a hole in the wire then a piece of "string" comes out of the wire, and every time I straiten out the one side they get a bunched up and then to get it out I have to pull back on the wire. But other than that, the battery life and sound quality is good.

    Fragile

    Beats are really fun to unbox. They work with the Apple ecosystem, sound good, are comfortably designed, and stylish.

    Unfortunately, you will realize the futility of all that when they up and break on you. These wireless ones lasted me over a year of normal use, no workouts, and careful storage in the provided case. Then, something in the wiring broke, and now they are out of warranty. I guess I was naively optimistic about the longevity.

    I'd still be satisfied if these had been cheaper, or if they'd long outlived the warranty, but they're pretty expensive, and they didn't. Maybe I'm just too poor to be an Apple customer. Apple, just be up-front about a hardware-as-a-service model if that's what you're going for. I guess if Apple gives you a warranty, you better plan on replacing your hardware at the end of it.

    You are better off with Airpods

    These are very delicate creatures. The fact that these wireless earphones have cable makes them a poor choice. Because tossing them in your bag can result in a no longer working earphones. I would say that makes these very inconvenient as you have to be very careful. I would prob go with the AirPods, as those seems like a more stable choice. Additionally since you do have the cable it makes it easy to come in contact with water, say for example you accidentally spill on yourself. Although the odds of that happening are small, they prob would not be a good idea if you sweat a lot at the gym. I wish I had a more positive experience with these, but I had my first one replaced for free but the second ones have failed me yet again. Pretty disappointing, still on the hunt for good wireless earphones.

    Terrible quality

    I’ve bought several beats products, but none of them worked more than a year. My first beats X stopped working after about 11 months and then I went to repair. Then the same thing happened again. Now I can’t even turn it on!!!!!!!!

    Superb BUT...

    Bought these with my iPhone in December 2017, sound amazing, battery life more then enough even for my long plane travels (8h really who needs more on a day to day basis?) and if it was more then enough to just plug them in for 5 minutes and voala! Also i do work often (on my laptop) in a noisy environment such as busy coffee shops, and do lot of flying and hat down BeatsX did and amazing job canceling the noise and made it easy just to sink in the tones and music. ANYHOW right in March 2018 (after 4 months of daily using) right ear stopped working, what a shame so I did contacted apple and with no problems they did replaced them for me with a new ones. Beginning of December guess what? Again the exact same problem (after 8 months of daily using) unfortunately they were one month out of one year guarantee. I would have to pay 75£ for replace/fix and that's just no-no for me if they disappointed twice in a year with the same problem... No thanks. Especially for that price, come on I would expect they will last at least 2 years. I really don't think they are reliable and worth for this price. For me Beats in the future... I don't think so. Will be looking for a different brand. While they were working 5* honest. But the time they actually worked...

    Disappointed

    Worked good for the first 4 months , one side stopped working , went to Apple and they replaced for me , 2 months later ,same issue happens plus the on and off button is giving me hard time , now I have to go to Apple so the check the issue again .
    Also charging won’t last for 8 hours , it’s not true
