Apple Remote with iPod and iPhone

If you connect your iPod to a home stereo, powered speakers or TV set, the Apple Remote lets you experience your songs, slideshows and more from across the room. Plug your iPod into the Apple Universal Dock and choose a playlist, slideshow or video. Then sit back, relax and enjoy. Ready to move on to the next song? No need to get up. Just press the Next button on the Apple Remote. Getting a call on your iPhone? Press Pause, then pick up where you left off.

    Apple Remote with Mac

The Apple Remote gives you total command of your music, photos, videos and DVDs from anywhere in the room. Turn up the volume. Shuffle. Skip to the next chapter on your DVD. Play a slideshow, a home movie you made in iMovie, even a film trailer.

Keep in mind, Apple TV can only connect to one remote at a time. If you wish to play multiple player games, you’ll need an iOS device or controller.

Way too small for anyone to try and keep track of. If I could add up the hours of my life I've spent looking for it in the couch cushions, I could have solved several world problems. I can't wait til the next new technology makes my Apple TV and its devil child spawn remote obsolete. I'm going to destroy this stupid thing...if I can find it. For now I'll just buy a new one to replace the one that's currently AWOL. So annoyed.....

      Apple TV Remote

Three of my Apple T I have four Apple remotes for my apple tv's and three of the four Apple remotes have failed when trying to use the up button on the remote. Three of my Apple TV remotes up button stopped working. I will be taking them back to the store this morning and hopefully Apple will provide me with three new Apple TV remotes. The fact that 3 of my 4 Apple TV remotes up button doesn't work tells me it is an Apple design flaw or the batch of Apple TV remotes I received shouldn't have passed quality control.

The right/forward button has never worked properly since the day we opened the box. Finally after a year of sticky/intermittent functioning of that button we pried the thing apart (another annoying thing about Apple is they make all their products impossible to get into and fix). We discovered some sort of sticky glue over top of a button that wasn't seated correctly that could not be repaired. While I understand that manufacturing glitches happen, that is not my only issue with this remote. Like another user stated -- by removing all the buttons to have the "coolest" looking remote on the market, Apple has given us a remote that is a headache to use. Constant scrolling, tedious, takes too much time. Yes, our regular TV and video remotes and Comcast remotes are hugely clunky by comparison, but they aren't nearly as annoying to use.

If I had to guess, I think we've gone through at least 10 if not more of these remotes over the years as they are so little, slippery, and therefore, constantly lost, stuck in furniture, etc. Battery dies pretty easily. Am not shelling out another penny for a new remote. Would rather invest in a streaming service where I can get a decent size remote. I am just done. Done. Done!

      Hate this Remote

I have never written a bad review in my life so this is my first one star! This remote is way too small, it gets lost ALL THE TIME. The buttons always get stuck I have never written a bad review in my life so this is my first one star! This remote is way too small, it gets lost ALL THE TIME. The buttons always get stuck too and often don't work one way. We are on our fourth remote! We've never had to replace another remote in our lives for any other appliance...Unfortunately, we are sucked into the cycle of getting new ones until we upgrade to a new apple tv.

      Works as exoected!

I have no issues with this. I still have the first gen remote for the MacBooks and it’s much smaller than this one. I haven’t lost it and that remote is over 10 I have no issues with this. I still have the first gen remote for the MacBooks and it’s much smaller than this one. I haven’t lost it and that remote is over 10 years old and works on my new laptop as well to control iTunes if I choose. Blaming the company won’t help anyone that does not know how to place things back where they found them. I find it to be sleek, controls what I need it to including my Mac as well. Don’t be salty if you know you can’t take care of your things. Also, many need to try speaking to companies a little better and they may help. Never had an issue with apple or their customer service. Common sense remote and gets to the point. If you want a tv remote, get a smart tv.
