Apple Remote with iPod and iPhone

If you connect your iPod to a home stereo, powered speakers or TV set, the Apple Remote lets you experience your songs, slideshows and more from across the room. Plug your iPod into the Apple Universal Dock and choose a playlist, slideshow or video. Then sit back, relax and enjoy. Ready to move on to the next song? No need to get up. Just press the Next button on the Apple Remote. Getting a call on your iPhone? Press Pause, then pick up where you left off.

    Apple Remote with Mac

The Apple Remote gives you total command of your music, photos, videos and DVDs from anywhere in the room. Turn up the volume. Shuffle. Skip to the next chapter on your DVD. Play a slideshow, a home movie you made in iMovie, even a film trailer.

Keep in mind, Apple TV can only connect to one remote at a time. If you wish to play multiple player games, you’ll need an iOS device or controller.

Way too small for anyone to try and keep track of. If I could add up the hours of my life I've spent looking for it in the couch cushions, I could have solved several world problems. I can't wait til the next new technology makes my Apple TV and its devil child spawn remote obsolete. I'm going to destroy this stupid thing...if I can find it. For now I'll just buy a new one to replace the one that's currently AWOL. So annoyed.....

      Apple TV Remote

I have four Apple remotes for my apple tv's and three of the four Apple remotes have failed when trying to use the up button on the remote. Three of my Apple T I have four Apple remotes for my apple tv's and three of the four Apple remotes have failed when trying to use the up button on the remote. Three of my Apple TV remotes up button stopped working. I will be taking them back to the store this morning and hopefully Apple will provide me with three new Apple TV remotes. The fact that 3 of my 4 Apple TV remotes up button doesn't work tells me it is an Apple design flaw or the batch of Apple TV remotes I received shouldn't have passed quality control.

The right/forward button has never worked properly since the day we opened the box. Finally after a year of sticky/intermittent functioning of that button we pried the thing apart (another annoying thing about Apple is they make all their products impossible to get into and fix). We discovered some sort of sticky glue over top of a button that wasn't seated correctly that could not be repaired. While I understand that manufacturing glitches happen, that is not my only issue with this remote. Like another user stated -- by removing all the buttons to have the "coolest" looking remote on the market, Apple has given us a remote that is a headache to use. Constant scrolling, tedious, takes too much time. Yes, our regular TV and video remotes and Comcast remotes are hugely clunky by comparison, but they aren't nearly as annoying to use.

This remote has got to be the absolute worst piece of tripe hoisted upon us by apple. Clearly a power play, as usual with apple, as if to say we don’t care what you want or how useless you think it is, we know best and this is what you’ll use. Ten dollar electronic toys have better controllers than this garbage. After the novelty and all the frustration of the first few days I find I don’t even care to use it and go back to my game console for better control and peace of mind. It should be sold as an art piece, it looks cool sitting on your shelf collecting dust.

Is Apple to Aloof to Listen?

How can Apple continue to produce a product with a 2-star average from, I'm guessing, it's most loyal customers? I am biased to Apple products, but I agree with How can Apple continue to produce a product with a 2-star average from, I'm guessing, it's most loyal customers? I am biased to Apple products, but I agree with the majority of 1- and 2-star ratings for the Apple TV remote. More thought in the design than functionality and durability. So frustrating to work with. And yet, no apparent recognition by Apple to the feedback. WAKE UP APPLE!!!

Unintentional clicks every 30 minutes, And forget it if you are one to leave the remote resting next to you on the couch; you will change the channel unintentionally too often. Just awful. “Design” has jumped the shark at Apple.
