With the new chip, pairing it to any iOS device is simple and my headphones follows wherever I am sign on (Mac, Apple TV, iPhone, etc). The noise cancellation feature is also a big plus, makes listening to music a bit more enjoyable when there are lots of ambient noise around. Coming from the Solo2, these are way more comfortable, can easily use all day with a battery to match as well. Well worth the $ IMHO.

      Incredible sound and clarity

I’ll make this short and sweet. Apple put more effort into these headphones and time as well. The sound and quality are the telling differences. Sound is better I’ll make this short and sweet. The pure ANC really pops and makes the music even more better. Try em out. You won’t be disappointed. This blue color is beautiful too.

I'm not an audiophile so there's absolutely room in other reviews to argue the relative sound reproduction of these headphones versus competing devices in this price range. I think what sets the Studio3 headphones apart, though, is the W1 chip. I was already in love with my AirPods as they bounce well to any modern Apple device. This device provides that same functionality but with longer battery life, better sound, and noise cancellation. I watched a few movies on my Apple TV and listened to some music and podcasts. The movies sounded excellent and I could definitely pick up details in music on these headphones that may have too subtle to notice with my AirPods. What was even better was my phone could easily bounce between the two of them (Airpods and Studio3s), with the device almost instantly picking up where the other left off. Yeah, some might find it frustrating that these charge over micro-USB instead of Lightning, yeah, maybe they don't sound better than this premium headset or that one, and they are absolutely expensive. But the Studio3 seems like THE best set of headphones you can buy today that work as a first-class citizen within the Apple ecosystem. Also, as others have said, the blue color is really nice looking!

Broke in less than a year

I am so peeved because these headphones always seem to break. Great sound quality, comfort and looks while they last, but they are very brittle and break often. Recently, my charging on the device had broke so now i have a pair of headphones that is unable to be charge. - Though this isn't even the worst thing about these headphones. The ear pieces rotate very little and when you have them around your neck, you have little to no neck movement. - The headphone itself is made of plastic with a very thin rubber cushion. Because of the lack of support, these headphones often begin to hurt my head around 30-45 minutes into use. With the mostly plastic construction, the sounds that these buttons makes is just unpleasant. For the price paid for these, the sound produced by the buttons is sub-par and very cheap. - The noise cancellation is meh at best, compared to other headphones like Bose and Sony, the noise cancellation on the Studio3 is rock bottom. - The description says over-ear when really they are more on-ear than anything else - Though I am a fan of Apple's products and tend to lean towards them when buying my tech, this showing that they have not created nearly the best headphone on the market has made me disappointed in Apple's Beats line. - So in my opinion, buying this product would be a complete waste of money while you can by a far greater product like Bose for only $20-30 more - From now on, I will 100% be going with Bose over Beats.

      Underperforming for the Price

I listen to a variety of genres of music ranging from For context, I have been playing trumpet for 8+ years and I am going to study music education this fall. I listen to a variety of genres of music ranging from rock, the ’80s, and classical music using a pair of Audio Technica M50X headphones as my daily drivers. I received these beats as apart of the Apple student sale. My overall impression as a first time Beats user was disappointing as I found these headphones sub-par compared to other offerings at a similar price point. Pros: -Free with the Apple Student Sale -Works well with the apple ecosystem Cons: -Poor build quality -Poor sound quality -Poor active noise cancellation -Price I found the Studio 3’s to have a poor build quality feeling plasticy and not premium. The buttons on the side of the ear cup had a very audible plastic click, and these did not feel like a product Apple would make or sell. Additionally, the headband lacked padding and put a lot of pressure on my head causing me discomfort after a half hour. The sound quality of the Studio 3’s is like many other beats meaning they heavily emphasize the bass while mids, highs, and vocals suffer. These headphones lacked the clear and balanced sound I expected from a product which retails for $349.99. I also found that the active noise cancellation did not compare to similarly priced offering for Bose or Sony. I took these on a walk with my dog and the Studio 3’s offered a little bit of noise reduction but had trouble covering neighbor’s air conditioners, passing by cars, and even suffered from some wind noise in a light breeze. While these headphones have excellent Bluetooth capabilities and seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem, other offerings from Bose and Sony come in at the same price with a much better build and sound quality. While these headphones were free with the Apple Student Sale, there is a reason for it. I would personally recommend the Bose QC35II or the Sony wh-1000xm3 as they retail for the same $349.99 and offer more value for the money. If you want a bass-heavy pair of headphones I would recommend the Sony wh-xb900n as they offer a bass-rich high-quality sound with more features than the Studio 3’s at a price of only $249.99.
